- Adding a Safari ARMAX snorkel to my 2013 Toyota Land Cruiser 200 series with basic tools at home. This is in addition to my previous video, fitting the Moonlight 4WD stainless steel airbox.
A very clean installation, Andy. Yeah, I would be nervous cutting holes in such a nice fender, but your care in masking worked fine.👍
You made it look easy! I’ll leave my snorkel to the pros - I couldn’t do it half as good as you. Looks the goods
Thanks mate, it's a bit scary but not that hard. Having said that, this was the third one I have done. Patience and lots of measuring.... cheers
G'day Mate I'm about to install an Armax snorkel on my 200 series great video! I recognise those boots, must be an ex GSEFITT👍
Close..... Avtech but old elecfitt that worked in gse world for quite a few years.... you ex as well? Cheers, Andy
Great level of detail! Brilliant channel, subbed!
Thank you so much! Please share the channel to help me grow. Also every Friday I do a Friday Beers and Tools segment (#FriBaT) where I review a beer and a tool. Cheers, Andy.
@@grayzbildzno prob. FriBaT sounds good!
Love the buildz there mate. Going to be doing the same install next week for the airbox and snorkel. With your knowledge, do you think a dremel would be good enogh for the cutout running a diamond cutoff disc?
Welcome to the channel, great name by the way. Lol. Yeah I guess it would work, will be a very slow process though as the dremel is not very powerful. I would probably drill a hundred small drill holes closely around the diameter of the hole with a 3mm drill bit, and then use the dremel to cut between each drill hole. I think that would be faster. Either that or go buy a cheap jigsaw (bunnings sell one for less than $30). Take your time, don't rush and good luck with the project. Cheers, Andy G.
Nice job mate, cheers
hi mate great vid. I just had the Armax professionally installed on my 2019 200 and the darn thing resonates at 1200ish rpms. Can feel it through the go pedal. They said one of the bolts was touching the fender and drilled a larger hole but it still makes the resonate drone at the same rev range (not as bad but still painful). They said "all 200s do it" which I beg to differ. Where would you suggest I look to remove such drone? Many thanks!
Hi mate, sorry to hear yours resonates. I have zero resonance from mine, I have heard others had some issues.
Resonance can be caused by heaps of things, but I guess my only suggestion is to ensure all fasteners are tight and nothing is rubbing. It's a tough one to fault-find, and impossible for me to accurately assist remotely. Best of luck. Cheers, Andy
Looking forward to install mine too..nice video tho!..cheers
The instructions suggest you need to ‘drill out’ the air intake tube of the air filter housing - did you do that?
Yes, I think for memory there are some rivets to drill out. I found the instructions pretty good and easy to follow. Cheers, Andy
