So here is it Febuary 2024, and I've been discovering more of her older songs(on youtube only because I can't afford a Spotify account) and I'm in awe of her! The irony of me likeing her music, is I hate pop music! But her songs connect with me! I get it now. It's truly amazing that her parents supported her in transitioning after she reached legal age! She is truly inspiring. In my early 20's(I'm 47) I realized that I wanted to be a woman, but I didn't know the word transgender! I was trying to navigate finishing up junior college, and trying to find a job. It was hard enough trying find a job I was qualifed for much less try to look "femme" and be accepted by my fellow Gen Xers. as I had no money for women's clothes and wigs(as I couldn't grow my hair out) and make up, much less estrogen treatments and facial and vaginal surgeries! Alas ,it was not be. I thought about suicide frequently, but I realized that if went through with it, my parents and brother would have ben devistated. I didn't know Kim thought about suicide too! She being a Gen Yer, I just assumed she was going to be accepted in the pop industry as a trans woman! Holy shit, there was a lot going with her that I didn't know. Wonderful video though!
