Thank you,John, for your running commentary, sometimes quite amusing, but always interesting. Being able to see the out-of way streets with the cardboard boxes ready to be picked up is a unique view as tourists only get to see the expected places. It’s great to see a bit more of how a city really lives. Btw, when did the Blues leave? Well, they’ll be back for the weekend!😊
I love that the lifeguards and blues and royals are back as most of them will shout at or kick away the rude visitors! All we need is for Ormonde or Arnie to start biting again! 😂❤
So good to be back to the normal chaos at Horse Guards. Plus the lovely “Smiler” back on duty with his Royal boot. It is brilliant that the troopers are keeping people in check a bit more again as well. Thanks as always for a fantastic video.
I think this is my favorite video! Thank you for showing us the other side of town. Your vibrant, happy personality just shines through. You are a very uplifting, inspiring person. You help the viewers feel as if a friend is taking them on a tour of your home town. Puts a smile on my face!! Thank you! 🙏🏻♥️
Hi John. And you've done it again. Great video. Well done to our happy trooper giving a couple of tourists the boot. And, no surprise the respect he showed to the guy in the wheelchair. Although he didn't move his horse, which he has done previoulsly, he did carry his sword slightly. A lovely gesture.
John, your dedication to delivering top-tier content is genuinely inspiring. Your hard work is appreciated by many, including those who try to keep up with your posts across different time zones. Classy and consistent content, what a treasure.
Good morning from USA always a pleasure to hear you each day I can to get uplifting commentary and sights! I’m still laughing about your remark of “child sacrifices “ and Guard Babysitter service” from the other day!😂
I know! I have heard it a few times, but it never gets old. Also these sorts of comments come out of the blue, so it can be dangerous to have a cup of coffee when watching!
Mornin' John. Personally, I enjoy your narration. Not being familiar with London, your talking about the buildings you're passing, or pointing out things, such as restaurants, maybe even problems, is fascinating to non Brits. Please keep up the UK Hood walks, and updates lol. 🐎👋🐎
I’m loving your British humor, It’s so different than American, It’s very tongue and cheek or just plain cheeky… It’s brilliant. Also, the strap that goes above the horses eyes that secures the bridle is called a brow band.
Ascerbic wit!! I love it!!! Your commentary is so entertaining. And your love for the horses is contagious. I have a small list that I'm compiling of our lovelies - the horses that is - has our boy Ormonde at the top. I'm so glad you have the horses' numbers. That's golden!! 💥
Good on that Guard using his boot to get the respect he and his horse should have. I remember this young man in earlier videos. He looks to me as if he is enjoying his time here this morning. Great to see him once more. Thank you John for a very interesting hour. Always enjoy your videos: Kiwi
That looked like Tai Chi in the courtyard behind St Martin's in the Fields. That church is brilliant for music - free concerts in the courtyard in the late afternoons/early evenings (Thursday and Saturday) during July/August. Lunch time concerts and evening concerts (not free but reasonably priced for London) inside the church all year by The Academy of St Martin's in the Fields and invited guest artists, etc.. The Academy of St Martin's in the Fields is world renown for chamber music. I stumbled into the church on Easter Sunday in 2001 (thinking to spend some time checking out the architecture while waiting for the National Gallery to open) and ended up sitting through the service with what was some of the most magnificent organ music I've heard played throughout the service. The Handel music played during processional at the end of the service was glorious, with the chandeliers above us shaking when the organist opened the stops and really, really let it rip. Good cafe down in the crypt below also.
@@sylviekins Yes, we also have several records/CDs of Sir Neville Marriner conducting the Academy (which he founded in 1958). I've just discovered that there are now also performances in the evenings in the crypt - various artists, performing everything from jazz, folk, blues through to West End musicals, etc. What an amazing array of music for all tastes and at reasonable prices for London. St Martin's choirs are also very, very good.
Goodmorning John really enjoy walks around London, being disabled, your Viedos specially Horse Guards helps me see and learn about your City and those Awsome Kings Guard and Beautiful Horses. Thank you for the Tour and History with your humor makes for a beautiful day ❤
John, just watching this video now. I’m a new Member and find your humor hilarious at times! I’m married to a man without sense of humor so your jokes are a blessing to my starved tor laughter soul. I watch mostly for the activity at Horse Guards and your commentary on those activities and the scenes on the way to Horse Guards. You are truly a star!
I do love the sound of the fountain with the water flowing that is such a relaxing sound and you really don’t hear that other noise in the background❤❤

Can’t wait to see what you have next! Thank you for the BEST vids on the net!
So nice to see that friendly trooper interacting with people 😊 But it amazes me how clueless some people are, and how some have no concept of personal space!
I have noticed this here in Australia, and I wonder if some people have a different concept of personal space. I find in post office queues, for example, some people will almost be touching you, whereas I tend to stay clear- even more so since covid. Perhaps the acceptable difference if different in different countries/environments?
The horses are trained for guard duty so they need space as they can react quickly. Ormonde is a great example,he shoos them away from around him (quite rightly so as this is what he was trained for) and when they get too close he resorts to the nip! People don't get it that they are GUARDS on duty.
Hi John Was watching one of your videos when you said "...he's got 2 swords " I almost choked on my drink 😅😅😅 when I realised what you were referring to ! Love the videos...even if I am likely to choke !😂😂
