I was looking for information on belly bands for my little dog Milo. I was surprised when she said the dogs name. Lol! My real question is, how does this train a dog to stop peeing inside. The problem with my dog is he wants to mark everywhere and it's destroying my house.
Hi +dejhaniras - thanks for your comment and I love that you also have a Milo :) The bands are not really a training tool, their main purpose to protect against unwanted accidents from incontinence and marking but they don't usually stop the behavior. With that said we have had customers with dogs that did not urinate when wearing them so for some dogs it can dissuade them, but it's rare. Most dogs have no issue urinating while wearing it.
Do these have elastic bands? I just bought a different brand and it seems like the elastic would be irritating. I left it very loose for that reason and used a extension that came with it even though I already went up to the larger size.
Sorry for just seeing your question now. Our bands have a soft elastic down the center which helps the bands to hug the body. It's challenging to get belly bands to fit well enough to prevent leaks without using elastic but our design avoids the issues that bands with elastic along the sides creates.
@@Dogquality thank you for getting back. Fortunately I haven't had to use the ones I bought. It seems like they would be to tight. Might try yours if the problem arises again.
That's great news@@paulaagaard7641 Always better to not have the issue but yes if it happens again please think of us and feel free to reach out for any sizing help.
My dog has an occasional problem with paraphimosis which occurred again when I bought him a set of belly bands from petco. I only let him inside for a little while each of two days which is when he wore them. How can I prevent this from happening to him again as he being an outside dog likes to hike his leg and pee on furniture as the need occurs when inside which is, of course, unacceptable. Our other dog passed away 10 days ago and he is lonely so I want him to be able to come inside with us so he’s not so sad.
I am so sorry to hear that your other dog passed away so recently. I am also going through this as I lost one of my dogs a few weeks ago. It is truly heartbreaking. I think it is a really good idea to have your other dog inside to be with his family. And I do believe the more inside he is the more chance you have of stopping his marking behavior, though I will admit this is not at all easy to do. I have not had a dog with paraphimosis but I believe that using a belly band that has elastic along the edges of the band could be a contributing factor. Since most bands use this design I believe the ones you tried from petco would have this...our bands do not use elastic along the sides so they might be less of an irritant for his condition. Our gentle elastic runs down the middle of the band and helps the bands hug the body without edges that irritate. Our fabrics are also very soft and are the same fabrics used for cloth baby diapers. We also have very soft washable pads that can be used with the bands that might also help. If you do decide to try our bands and run into any issues just let me know and I can refund you. My name is Ann-Marie Fleming. I would like to see if our bands are a better option for dogs like yours that struggle with this problem so I would love to get your feedback.
I have Yorkie and I was wondering if he pees in his belly band would it wet his hair and give him a rash? Is this reusable? Can I wash it many times? So for sure his pee won't come out of the belly band and on to the furniture? Also how often do I change his belt band? Will it stay steady on him? It looks like it might slip off of him. Sorry with all the questions I just want to make sure it really works before I buy one.
Hi Jamie, If you leave the band on for too long then yes it would wet his hair but if you change him regularly like you would a diaper on a baby then he will not have this issue. Same thing for a rash - the only time your dog would get any kind of irritation would be if he was left in wet bands for long periods of time but if you change them as I mentioned and wipe him in between changes then you won't have any issues. The band can fit them very snug and still remain comfortable so it won't slip - if it slips it means you don't have it snug enough. If you have the right fit then the band won't leak. Thanks Ann-Marie
The Belly Band is a useful diaper for incontinence in male dogs, but the Ultimate Dog Belly Band Test comes up short in a few areas. The belly band is useful for light leakage, to stop marking and breeding. The problems we have with it right now is that it is not absorbent enough. We have a large male Weimaraner with incontinence issues from DM and medication. He will pee at night and fill the belly band. We're not sure yet if the amount he is peeing is too much for the belly band or the fact that lying around basically "squeezes" the pee out of it. So even though he'll go out to pee at 10:00 PM, by 4:00 AM the belly band is soaked and there his a good wet spot on the floor. I noticed someone mentioned you have to wash them occasionally; no, you have to wash them after your dog pees in them. And yes, your dog will have pee on them, you may get away with using a wipe or they may need a bath or they will smell. I'd like to find a really absorbent band or some type of pad to add to it.
Tony Luers, I’d suggest covering the dog bed or whatever your dog lies on with a thick plastic and then a blanket that can be washed. Have several of the blankets so you can rotate them. Washing one while another is on the bed. You could also get some of the pads they used in hospitals to place under your dog. There are washable ones or disposable ones. www.amazon.com/RMS-Washable-Reusable-Incontinence-Underpads/dp/B01MUEVH9X?psc=1&SubscriptionId=AKIAILSHYYTFIVPWUY6Q&tag=duckduckgo-ipad-20&linkCode=xm2&camp=2025&creative=165953&creativeASIN=B01MUEVH9X
Milo says thank you :) We have had great success with large dogs using our belly bands. To help control the extra volume you can use the bands with our washable pads which add extra absorbency. The pads are great because the microfleece side actually helps wick away the moisture to keep your dog drier.
Do these have a guard of some sort? My dog likes to slip his peepee out by rubbing against the furniture and then marking. If it does I may be interested in purchasing a couple.
+Krystinn Marshall This is what was just recommended for the three-year old dog we just adopted a week ago. We are having trouble with him marking all over, and we are about to move into a new house. He wasn't fixed until about 3 weeks ago. We hope it works!
SAMMIsLIFE usually they have an absorbent inside or you could put a pad in there and it will not get your dog wet and yes you'd have to occasionally wash the belly band
just bought it and it totally sucks. i have the right size but it slips from dog and band is way to skinny. It is large size and the band is way to small. No matter how i put it on. It eventually slips down and either falls off or his winger wanger sticks out front. very useless product.
Dale - please email us through our website and we'd be happy to help. Often it just needs an adjustment or perhaps a different size but if you work with us I am certain we can resolve it. We even have stretchable straps that can help a great deal.
i should of watched this first. Exact problem i am having. th-cam.com/video/bDnLWAfemCM/w-d-xo.html short hair 100 pound rottweiler. thanks for quick response going to website now.
Thanks. When you email if you could include a photo of him wearing the band that would be really helpful. I suspect he would do better with XL but once we see the photo we'll be able to tell what we need to do to resolve.

Perfect! I have a pug that keeps marking on my rug, I’ve gone through 3 already 😑

Our pit bull keeps messing in the house. When he goes he goes LOT. I know Milo is a small (and cute) dog, so will a belly band work for my dog?

Milo is a sweetheart!
where can I purchase these please
so you have to be washing this everyday?

Cute dog+quality product=awesome advertising
Poor Milo. All that leg lifting and nothing to show for it.
Why are all of these dog diaper pee tests fake
What if your dog is female?
If your dog is female you can use our female diapers - different design but same soft fabrics.
Would the pee get his underside wet though? Its like a diaper basically, ud have to clean him afterwards
SAMMIsLIFE usually they have an absorbent inside or you could put a pad in there and it will not get your dog wet and yes you'd have to occasionally wash the belly band
I use feminine pads for my dog inside the belly band and just toss the pads. I get overnight pads at the Dollar Store.
That jyst seems cruel. Just buy training pads please or take dog outside more. Grr
