In lore, I wonder what’s going through their minds (Amy, Tails, Rouge, Knuckles, & Eggman) when they’re telling Sonic and Shadow to leave as the colony is about to crash and destroy the earth.
They were basically accepting their death lol, it's a pretty overlooked and creepy but also cool detail. I wish we got a cutscene where the ARK impacts earth too.
@@HeavyRaidenIt doesn’t really make much sense. I mean they’re going to die either way lol. I’d just continue to try and stop the ARK with all my heart.
@@Sonic-hq9zz Yeah true, but i don't even know the implications of what they said, maybe they thought they could survive elsewhere? I have no idea, pretty overlooked detail.
@@HeavyRaiden Another thing I don’t get. Why does it matter if the ARK enters the atmosphere? Why do they feel like they won’t be able to stop it? They aren’t stopping it with raw strength like Superman or something. They’re teleporting it away, negating ANY kind of velocity it could possibly be generating.
Sonic and Shadow's dialogue with each other here is great. You can just feel that their rivalry is over and that they now truly respect and care for each other.
What I heard is that they forgot to have him record those lines and only realized once it was too late to get him back into the studio in time. Ryan was able to fill in, so he did.
@@PhirePhlame Yeah, I watched a Ryan Drummond interview, and basically, it was because SEGA was being cheap. They didn't want to bring David Humphrey in for another day's worth of pay.
I Like how sonic is just : SHADOW GET BACK TO THE COLONY GET BAAAACK 1:54 To 2:10 And at the end they are both arguing about who should switch with eachother 2:24 To 2:47
Shadow calling Sonic the ultimate lifeform is the coolest line in this entire franchise to me. I wish that they still showed that same sort of respect for eachother in the later games.
Blaze didn't pass out against Egg Salamander and Silver didn't pass out against Solaris. I guess Shadow just isn't as strong as he thinks he is (kidding)
I remember when I was growing up, I heard a rumor that if the fight dragged on long enough, Eggman would have dialogue implying that he was sending out drones to collect information on the battle, setting up Shadow's return and the Shadow Androids for the next two games. Little did I know that such a line never existed, and that Shadow was originally meant to be a one-off character with no additional appearances past this game.
That's pretty much true but for Shadow's own game in 2005. If you let the final fight with Devil Doom drag on, Eggman will tell Shadow that he had drones save him when he fell to earth in SA2 and that he is the true Shadow. Even though originally he was meant to be a one off character, the way they framed his "death" in SA2 was still pretty ambiguous. So they could've always easily brought him back if they wanted.
I never thought about this, but do you sonic and shadow have head pieces? Otherwise how can they hear their teammates (I would also ask how they can hear anything at all in space, but that’s a different can of worms.)
Everyone already had some form of long-distance communication as shown earlier in the story (seemingly even without needing to use handheld devices, as shown when Eggman calls Shadow to remind him about Prison Island blowing up), so in this case I imagine the Hero and Dark teams just tuned into one unified frequency during Last Story
There's no oxygen in space and they were still able to breathe and you think the weirdest thing is them being able to hear anything? Super Sonic has defeated gods so the ability to hear in a setting where a normal person can't hear anything is the least impressive thing Sonic can do in his super form.
In lore, I wonder what’s going through their minds (Amy, Tails, Rouge, Knuckles, & Eggman) when they’re telling Sonic and Shadow to leave as the colony is about to crash and destroy the earth.
I guess they just had to accept their own & humanity's extinction lol

Is really great how shadow even knowing that continuing to use his super form would kill him, he continues to fight.
That's Shadow for you. Nothing can stop him, no ghosts to bring him down.
He keeps moving forward, even if what lies ahead is hell

They Have. SIBLING Rivalry. XD Spnic heing the Hyperactive Little Brat lol @@chrange9714
1:19 Fun fact: that’s not Shadow’s voice actor voicing shadow there; that’s Sonic’s! If I remember correctly Shadow’s VA was out sick that day…
He sounds like Kirk's Shadow, that's crazy
2:24 This too
Yeah, Ryan Drummond recorded some lines for Shadow in this game.
What I heard is that they forgot to have him record those lines and only realized once it was too late to get him back into the studio in time. Ryan was able to fill in, so he did.

3:00 that line just hypes me up when in here it
Knuckles: Sonic, we're in danger! The colony will enter the atmosphere in about 4 minutes!
Thank you for the very useful video!
2:09 has cool lore!
Shadow Is panting because is the first Time for him
We all can't last as long on our first time

I was 8 years old when I played SA2 and I think this final boss messed me up to this day. This was the most epic thing I've ever seen at that point.
You forgot “Sonic, we’re in danger, the Colony will enter the atmosphere in about four minutes!”
I like hearing those two hedgehogs working together and showing selfless concern for one another as they fight a common foe

Sonic logic
There must be a TV trope about it but yeah, suddenly all of them have ear pieces.
This same thing seems to happen in Shadow the Hedgehog's Final Boss, and I think in Sonic Heroes' Final Boss as well

I Thought Tails did that Line lol

1:25 "Where does he get all that power? Is this the power of the Chaos Emeralds?"
Well no shit Sherlock 😒
Does this mean super sonic is stronger than super shadow because shadow was modeled after sonic's super form?
Sonic was more familiar with the super form then shadow.
Isn’t there a Maria quote?
Yes it’s “Maria, watch me… I will fulfill your wish!”
Or do you a quote where Maria speaks? I don’t think there is and now I’m kinda mad there isn’t one during the fight
