Just to let you know, I know people leave before they see the end card, but they'll be reacting to Classic Who next week. It's only for 1 week to line up Torchwood with this show. You don't need to have seen any Classic Who to enjoy this reaction because they haven't and it was very interesting to watch.

I only had 1 week to work with. Five Doctors was already in 1 part where Genisis is in 6. I was talking to Aaron about which one to pick and he didn't like the idea of a story in the middle of a season.
"She screamed all her lines." I would argue that any woman unexpectedly teleported from her wedding would be screaming for a while!
You'd think
The plot point of all the adrenaline and hormones running high applies to more than the teleportation.
The thing with Donna to begin with is that she is probably the only companion who didn't want to be there at first. Also look at the way her family and friends treat her, as if she is worthless. Don't dismiss Donna just because she doesn't fit your ideal of a 'babe' in the Tardis. Donna probably goes through the biggest development in her tenure than any other companion.
Yeah I think there's something interesting to see between Rose, Martha and Donna with the way their lives are and the way their families treat her. Rose thought she had nothing while her family LOVES her, and values her, and needs her. Martha was driven and determined, she wanted to help people and her family despite being broken and harsh to her at first, needs her as well. While Donna on the other hand, she's constantly (even in the littlest thing such as a wedding party) reminded that they don't need her. That's sad!
The only companion who didn't want to be there at first? I'm pretty sure Tegan was a companion as well
I wasn't born when Tegan was in the Tardis and haven't watched her episodes. I was only comparing to New Who companions seeing as Blind Wave have yet to see the Classic series. Even if Tegan was reluctant at first it is still very rare in the show for a companion to not be willing to join the Doctor.

WTF was that stuff about them dismissing her for not being a "babe?" They didn't dislike her because of that, they disliked her because she screamed every line.

Also the shock of losing Rose did not help one bit with what seemed at that time was Rose's "replacement".
I met Catherine Tate at a con and she is one of the nicest and funniest people I have ever met. I love her so much. I can't wait until they get to her companion run. So good.

If they think that alien was freaky, they have no idea what's in store later on... Blink and you'll miss it.

I liked Donna right off the bat, literally. I liked her since the season 2 finale despite being heartbroken over Rose. I loved her little 'oh' when she was transported into the TARDIS.
I liked her straight away and by the end of her run I was in love. 😍

The Silence are creepy as well. In terms of appearence... and to be fair, in term of their "power" as well... Also the s3 episode with the Oods was kinda creepy

It's funny him saying "she screamed all her lines" because Catherine Tate is an amazing award winning actress who has made me cry like a baby many times 😂
I remember Tennant saying that she learned all her lines for his and her scene in the Nan Christmas special in only a few hours as she was v busy
Donna gets a shit ton of amazing emotional scenes on s4. I love how sensitive she is...
But in this episode, she did scream many of her lines. When she came back as a regular companion she gave a much more nuanced performance and was probably my favourite companion.

That was a great reaction. This is a great Christmas special. Very enjoyable and fun. Their reactions to Donna is pretty much what I expected. She toned down in the second half of the episode. I hope they grow to appreciate the character. Looking forward to the next reaction. They're finally gonna meet Martha! :D

16:01 Tidbit of physics info - the closer you go to the center of the Earth, the weakest the gravity forces are, cause the gravity comes from mass and the closer you go the less mass is in the between and more mass in every other direction. The gravity is strongest on the surface.

Also I just thought I'd calculate how much longer it'll take the Blindwave crew to go through all the episodes of Doctor Who and starting from Series 3x1 there's a current total of 101 episodes and 7 specials still to react to (and that's not taking into consideration the 2017 Christmas special and the 13th Doctor's run). So by Siri's calculation these guys won't catch up until 21st November 2019. Essentially there's still 2 more years of reacting to go!!!

Guys, the Doctor without a full series was David Tennant, he took a break for a year to concentrate on doing some stage work which included his Hamlet at Statford Upon Avon. That year we had two Specials, one at Easter, one in November, both were book-ended by two Christmas Specials.
Yes love this episode really emotionally attached to this episode b/c it's when I discovered Doctor Who after my grandma passed really helped me through some tough times. And Donna is still my favorite companion ☺️
random fact: as showing real money in a tv show is forbidden in the UK, they made false banknotes with Tennant's face on them for the scene shown at 3.48. You can't really see them on screen as they're being flown out too quickly but a couple of notes are exposed at the British Museum in London.

I was just off set when they filmed that scene where The Doctor takes money out of the ATM. Met Tennant that day as well, and got his autograph. He's a pretty cool guy.

Rewatching this, and just realized the groundwork for the Earth retcon was laid in the Classic era serial that Susan Foreman left the Tardis. The Daleks were trying to get a space engine at the core of the earth to start running.

You guys are wrong about hypothetically falling through the earth; you would not "bungee" back and forth. The further you fell the less effect gravity would have on you since less mass is beneath you. So as you fell you would slow down and then just eventually stop when you got to the center.
At the centre the gravity is essentially zero because it's pulling you almost equally in all directions. But you would be going fast enough that you would overshoot and oscillate until you stopped due to air resistance.
This episode perfectly shows the doctor's dark side he has to save the earth but in the process kills an entire species

The only reason theyve taken yearly breaks recently is because moffat (the writer for the 11th and 12th doctors) wanted to focus on the last season of Sherlock. Now theres going to be a break (probably not the whole year) because of the doctor being a woman and there are quite a few fans that arent happy with it, so theyre probably just waiting for them to settle tf down.
There is a big break during 2009 where we just had 2-3 special episodes over the course of a year, not sure why, probably show commitments elsewhere.
Or maybe they are taking time to write stories, hire actors and crew, and film the new series.
