these videos are wonderful and are taking me back to my grad school days! a much needed review as I switch my NP practice from neurology to cardiology!
Terrific explanation! Always worth a good review. I will be taking step 3 in the near future and your clear, concise review makes it enjoyable. Suscribed and will definitely tune in
I have Mitral Valve Stenosis. I had Rheumatic Fever when I was a baby. I've lived with Mitral Valve Prolapse since I can remember. It went from Prolapse to regurgitation to Stenosis. So far they said I don't have to worry about it. But my doctors are keeping a close eye on me.
So nicely explained..I had the experience to see these cases in India..its quite interesting to see the pattern in children and into adulthood. Love the videos! Much love from Canada!
Very systematically and easily explained a very technical concept. Please upload videos explaining some neurology concepts also. Thank you very much for the Hard work.
Thank you for the explanation . I well focus on your lectures . They are crystal clear and simple . Is it possible to give an explanation on diagnosis of valvular lesions using cardiac catheterisation Kind regards
Hello Dr. thank you for your videos. This video was made in 2013, and I have just reviewed, so late :( I found myself confused when you said. what makes this larger?, any condition that increases the amount of blood in the L side. then you cited exhalation, because it displaces the ventricular septum toward the LV. The R side becomes bigger and the L side becomes smaller. Hence, the L side is smaller it does not increases the amount of blood in the L side. On the other hand, inhalation is the one that increases the volume on the R side and shift the septum toward the L side, also reduces the VR from the lung veins decreasing the L side of the heart decreasing the murmur intensity. I think exhalation makes the L side bigger but not because of interventricular septum shift toward the L side. I am still confused can you help with that???
So helpful. But could you open the topic a little bit more? Like symps, findings, and some spesific infos like If I talk about MS “when do we say it’s serious stenosis -> when mitral valve area
also patients with MS must receive long acting penicillin to avoid rheumatic activity and IEC and MVR must be done before pulmonary HTN becomes irreversible since the treatment in that case will be heart lung transplantation

thanks!!!!!
perfect.
FIrst we start with definitions !
Thanks for the video! One point about opening snap: is it the higher gradient from LA flowing to LV causing the earlier opening snap?
Thanks!

Really perfect for cramming :) thank you!
Karen Laylo You're welcome- glad the lecture helped.

Treatments of mitral valve leakage.
also patients with MS must receive long acting penicillin to avoid rheumatic activity and IEC
and MVR must be done before pulmonary HTN becomes irreversible since the treatment in that case will be heart lung transplantation
Check murmur explanation seem not 100%
