- It took me a little playing to figure it out, but once I got on them, it was GAME ON! So much fun with the new Rapala Jigging Shadow Rap! I walk through the process of what gear I used, how I worked the bait, and when I think it works best. Also, thanks to my patron, Roger Harper, for the video idea.

The boat that comes by at 16:04.... what a swell guy, coming over to visit and say Hi😮
Haha! 🤷♂️
Great video as always! Funny you mentioned Tom since he invaded your lake recently for a couple of his own videos. You may need to beef up security to keep the other TH-camrs away...lol
Ha! Good thing it’s a big lake!
This was pretty good video. You were really ripping those walleye. Its all i fish for now days as well as musky. I got bored with bass fishing 15yrs ago, plus a lot of the bass fisherman on local lakes are kind of rude people when you are running back and forth on your gps guided trolling areas. So now my 18' ranger bass boat is for walleye fishing and i changed the front trolling motor over to a newer minkota guided off the hummingbird gps fishfinder with cherp. Being able to launch the boat and it come to the dock on its own, take me to my favorite trolling run in local electric motor only lakes i fish for walleye without ever touching a foot pedal is awsome
Thanks for that! Walleye fishing is addicting!
Great video
Thanks, Matt!
Great video. I’m going to give the jigging raps a try. I might need another Plano box for that collection lol
Ha! I got a new one also.
Thank you!!!
You're welcome!
I love my Piscifun reels
I’m happy so far
Very informative
Glad to hear it!
The current Jigging Shadow Rap is a #9 size equal to the length of the #9 Jigging Rap. But the Jigging Shadow Rap has a plastic body vs a lead body of the Jigging Raps! This allows the #9 size Jigging Shadow Rap the weight of the #7 Jigging Rap. This lighter weight allows for a slower fall and a less active action of the bait, (lethargic). This action is different than what you’d find on a Jigging Rap of the same length. It also as Brett said, not an arm buster! 👍
I agree with all that.
Great video. Do you attach ur leader with a double uni or a barrel swivel? I have noticed with the double uni I get more line twist/wrap.
I just use the double Uni and haven’t had too much issues. I used to use barrel swivels when I was only using mono, but with the braid, I don’t seem to have too much of a problem.
Ive been trying my hardest to get the jigging shadow rap to work out here on green bay. I just havent been able to get bit on it. Shiver minnows have been great as usual, i swap and try the shadow rap, and get nothing. I want this bait to work so badly, i will keep trying lol.
I know that feeling! That’d me with rippin raps out here!
Haven’t had luck with the jigging shadow rap yet. I did leave one in the rocks on lake vermilion Mn last week. Lol
When snap jigging jigs I sometimes get the line wrapped around the rod eye tip. Is that from rod being to stiff? 6’8” mxf. I think I was snapping and dropping rod tip when it would wrap sometimes. They seemed to like a snap and drop down rather than glide.
That extra fast tip could do some of that. It also happens a lot of you cast into the wind or sideways, or - like you said - drop the rod tip.
Thanks. Looking back on it, I was spot locked into the wind and spotted a pod off to the side on mega landscape mode. Was hard getting the bow out of the line and getting the snap I wanted when side casting. Just enough slack to twist. Behind the boat and the non windy days was fine. I should have figured that out. Lol
I was having to much fun catching fish, not thinking 🤷🏻♂️
I like using jigging raps but hate losing them which is everytime I use one.
Ha! Stick to the sand flats!
Did you buy the Reels or did they give them to you
They provided them for a review
