Kanji are really interesting to me because they have different readings and even Japanese people can't read them all. With most western languages you can usually pronounce the word even if you don't know what it means, but in Japanese (and Chinese etc) you need to know both the kanji and the reading first. It reminds me of the whole Yagami Tsuki/Raito/Light debate. The fact that 月 can be read as Light is so interesting. Like how are you supposed to know that? And I'm sure there are more name examples
