@@starbatcraft another cool fact is that most kelpies are shown as black, but the one in the story of the River Spey was a white one that lured riders onto its back with singing. There are even some rare stories kelpies being helpful. Also one story where a kelpie becomes a mortal human to marry a girl he fell in love with. Such a cool piece of folklore!
I clicked on the thumbnail because it looked like a certain anime chimera but damn I wasn’t disappointed when I watched this kelpie come to life. You’re very good at sculpting and the result is wonderfully spooky
Really like the cream and eyeshadow shading on this guy. I was worried you'd wipe out all the red undercoat, which was a good choice for a white. And look at you, adding reds to the grass! I'm impressed! I wish there was a little more harmony in the reds of the grass and the red of the exposed muscle, and that the bone had gotten some of the cream shading. Take this guy to a show. He will kill!
I'm scottish and love hearing about folk lore that is scottish, kelpies are one of my favourites so i was very happy to see this video! Very underrated
Yaaaas Kelpies! I love seeing all the artistic takes on them. I was gonna recommend Cosclay for future seaweed endeavors, as it stays flexible after baking, then remembered you have to bake that... probably shouldn't put plastic danger ponies in the oven. (Elsa fighting and taming a Kelpie was the only good part of Frozen 2 in my not terribly humble opinion... TLDR I know too much about dams to enjoy the rest. And I will not be convinced it's just a magic water horse!)
As a Kelpie, I approve of this! ♥ All jokes aside though, immediately subscribing. I thought 'this looks cool' and put your video on for background noise while I worked but I just couldn't look away. The mustang body was a perfect pose for it. And your attention to detail is spot on, i got so giddy when i saw the reference images behind the sculpt while you worked, it's acurate and beautiful and the glowing effect is incredible. I adore these kind of sculpts, i'm an immediate fan!
This is amazing! I have also made a kelpie or three, although I don't have the skill to add the lights. I've never seen someone use eyeshadow in place of pastels, but clearly it works! Great work with this piece!
i had a huge breyer collection as a kid (i was def a horse girl lol) and now i'm into doll collecting and customizing and i'm so glad this was in my recs! you're very talented and kelpies are one of my favorite myths too
I saw this and clicked on it, but my phone died before it could be added to my history. I remembered it had “kelpie” in the title. I’m so happy I was able to find the video again!
😮 you know once the head was off it already looked scary enough lol but I'm loving the entire kelpie 😊❤ and I just love your work and the ideas you have are amazingly perfect because everything works and looks so good!😊
If you do something like this again, I recommend Cosclay!! It's a clay that stays bendable after baking, which yeah doesn't work with all models you may use I'm not sure, but if you do, it could add a TON of movement to the hair and keep it from being fragile! Amazing video!!!
Amazing work! You might want to consider adding a description to your channel so that people who stumble across it while browsing see what your channel is about even if they don't click on a video.
I love this I did the same thing as a drawing in my highschool art class. I am so happy. Its true that great minds think alike. I love this idea so much more however.
What an absolute pleasure to watch your skill as you created this amazing piece! I love how spooky it came out and how the ribs also kind of look like gills!
Looks awesome, love that you did a lighter head instead of a dark one but it is beautifully scary and elegant. It did feel a little boring in the back when you revealed the whole thing. I think if you had added some strands of seaweed in the tail it wouldve tied it all together but that is awesome, keep up the talent
You did a fantastic job. However personally I think that the blue / white light is too bright and the eye sockets are too round. I would like to have seen it with a little bit of flesh and or maybe pieces of the mane or even seaweed hanging over them just to make them less pronounced, less perfect looking. Still a fantastic job, better than I could have done and you have a new subscriber!
Gorgeous creation. Some LED lights also come with a remote control, might be worth considering for something like this. But I don't know if the lights and wires would be small enough in that case.
Second i saw the thumbnail, the amount of work and love poured into this horsie boy showed, and i instantly subscribed 😊 cant wait to watch the rest of your videos
Ok... fuck... This was absolutely terrifying because horses and drowning are my biggest fears. And wow, I learned that there is something that encapsulated both those things. I'm subscribed for more, but man, oh man, this will haunt my waking hours.
Amazing. Love the gloss on the kelp as a nice highlight as it turns. I'm surprised you don't have more subs yet! Will be sharing you! Time to binge watch your vids!
Amazing its hauntingly beautiful. Also as soon as you painted up the kelp it made my skin crawl thinking what it would feel like or sound like if it was real lol
I love it!! Incredible detail! I love watching your videos, I’m constantly checking too see if you have new ones lol That mold was the perfect choice too for this guy😀
I used to have Breyer horses. I remember a few got a leg broken off from me putting a little too much pressure on them from time to time when I played with them. I remember wondering what the white material was. Now I know.
Fun fact: male kelpies are rare in the mythology they come from! So this guy is extra special!
Oh I never knew that! I haven't seen any males, always the ladies haha

Along with unicorns and werewolves, Kelpies are my absolute favorite mythical creatures. and it looks damn good ✨✨

Literally my favorite Breyer customization channel
Thank you 😭❤️

The horse skull is anatomically correct!! I love it already :)
Thank you! It's printed from a scan of a real skull!
the horse girl within me has me convinced i could tame this beautiful beast
The story of the kelpie has always creeped me out, and this model is surely no exception. Truly eerie, unsettling, and stunningly good work!
I love when horse model artist make this kind of projects ❤ i need more fantasy horse in my life 😍
This. Is. SO. COOL! The attention to detail is amazing, and he definitely gives off spooky vibes. He's also eerily majestic in a way. Awesome job❤❤❤❤
I love Kelpies! Your model came out amazing too!
That looks really cool! I hope more people find your channel since this is criminally underrated!

This was in my recommendations I'm absolutely floored, this is amazing
Just saw this guy at a show in Delaware! Everyone was going crazy over them and taking pictures!
It will give you nightmares (beautiful!)
Really enjoyed the white airbrushing stage; it made the sculpted details really pop for the first time.
Well done with creating that nightmarish look.. something you for sure would not want to encounter for real
Im so glad youtube reccomended you out of the blue

When it was coated with just the primer it reminded of the red ghosts in crimson peak
Kelpies are some of my fav mythical creatures they are so cool

Looks amazing!
If you want to do another creepy equine in the future, maybe you could give the nuckelavee a try.
I really love watching your process! I just wish the music had been spooky to match the subject matter...
I love the exposed skull and spine and muscle attactments makes it look real gorey and definitely something out of a horror
I saw this and clicked on it, but my phone died before it could be added to my history. I remembered it had “kelpie” in the title. I’m so happy I was able to find the video again!

I don't think they would like a field trip to the oven haha, but could be cool possibly attached after!
Subbed at 1.14k... so I can look back when you have millions and know I was there early on 😎
Some say that Nocken (another monster that drowns people, usually in a form of violin playing attractive man) is sometimes in a form of a kelpie!
By far one of the coolest custums I've seen!!!
Love this! Probably my favorite Kelpie sculpt or custom model horse!! ❤️🎃
That look frightfully amazing!
Amazing transformation. A work of art
You should totally make Long Horse next!
Oh my god bahaha that would be terrifying
That looks amazingly spooky, have a great day.
Gorgeous job!
This would most definitely put pestilence’s horse to shame 😮 this beyond words I ❤ It!!! -
Literally my all time favorite legend.

Never seen someone do a kelpie in a light color palette before
This might be the coolest thing I’ve ever seen 😍😍
This is so cool. I love how it turned out. It gives the perfect Halloween/scary feel. Amazing job!

I do that with other videos while making these haha, glad you like them!
An accurate representation of what I look like when I wake up
Wow… this is really awesome. Just beautiful detail!

Kelpie is a great folklore and maybe you can make the rest like nessie and bigfoot if you have the time
HE'S SO PRETTY!! keep up the good work! :D

HE LOOKS AMAZING!! Well done!!😍
I used to have Breyer horses. I remember a few got a leg broken off from me putting a little too much pressure on them from time to time when I played with them. I remember wondering what the white material was. Now I know.
I broke some legs too 😂 I still have them to possibly resculpt one day. Yea more plastic than this guy, they melt whereas resins turn into a powder!
Thats so sick!!!!!!
This is pretty neat I want to make one of these but more of like a doll or whatever
You totally should! Kelpies can also appear human
Wow I really like this!
Bad ass!!!
this is dope as hell. ever since i was young i always wished i could do stuff like this. im jealous XD
You'd be surprised at what you can do! When I was a kid I made the most horrendous little horses 😂 but I learned something from each one!
Hi! Your channel and this video popped up in my recommendation, and I love it already. I've just subscribed.
Stunning work!!
To get hot glue off easily just put rubbing alcohol on it and it will be easier to peel off.
Oh interesting, I'll have to try that out!
Amazing!
Beautiful project! Though I don't recommend using eyeshadows on resin as the oils can cause damage
omg this look just like the one in The Ancient Magus' Bride
This is so cool!
Love it!
