Given the profound involution that the human condition is currently undergoing, disguised as technological progress, we need a much more powerful impulse if we intend to preserve the home of everything we love. i/o is Peter's best album since So in my opinion- both bright and dark mixes. This Is Home is one of my favs. Peter sounds great and his band as usual is outstanding. I like playing both the bright and dark mixes, cue them up together- try it. Otherwise, of course both sound great. My fav Peter Gabriel album for me otherwise, is his 2nd produced by Robert Fripp

This was the song I didn't recognize, but loved immediately, at the concert in Vancouver last Saturday. My Mom passed last year, my Dad many years ago. HOME is my memories and the people I feel at home with, and the people who share my memories of home when it was still going to Mom and Dad for major events and celebrations.

@@SicKno-i5r Four kinds of horses is such a good song that stands great with any mix I think. But still better on the bright-side. The dark side album is more of a stripped down approach which is nice, but doesn't feel whole to me somehow.
@@SicKno-i5r The album "Subhuman" by Recoil which have a "reduction" mix on the DVD version is the only similar example I remember where it is presented in two versions like this album, it's worth checking out! (If I don't count Shania Twain's UP that had a country and pop version, released the same year as PG's UP lol). Things are not reduced here on the dark side version as much as there, but I always found Peter a pioneer in modern music, so I think it was kinda cool the way he presented it last year song by song, version by version. I know a lot of people didn't like it, but I usually find both the masses and the audiophile's usual reactions too extreme. No offense of course, music is a personal experience.
