      The Hoyts are loud as hell. There is a guy who shoots one at our local sportsman's club on the 3D course. I swear I can hear his bow fire from 2 targets away.

      the target bow has no string stop so there is more vibration after the shot, the hunting bow is quieter and clearly has a string stop

    I have been a patron supporter for a year or so now and honestly the videos still come to TH-cam after a couple days. I was told that I would get Patreon exclusive content but what I got was stupid previews. I’m probably going to cancel my support soon. It’s only $20 a month or so but I can add $200 a year into silver or Robinhood and be happier. If you do go to Patreon don’t double dip on both platforms have content exclusive for each platform. Why pay for what someone can get for free

    Its crazy watching your form change with each bow. With the target bow you have exactly the same following motion, and with the hunting bow your motion is almost never the same. I imagine mentally you are just in a different place with the target bow in your hand

    Break this down a little. I am brand new to bow hunting, still don't have my bow yet and using a friend's to get better at everything you talk about. Now this being said its been 10+ years since I've hunted anything. Not due to me not wanting to just not having time. I wanted to actually talk about is just how inspiring you and your team are for me. The ideas and knowledge you bring to the table are beyond crucial for me. Everything you have been teaching or demonstrating has helped me get better and better. Because of this I know personally I have a lot of questions to ask a professional to pick your brain and understand more about the archery community or even what to look for.

    The only thing that makes a target bow more accurate, is like 65% let off and a 7" brace. Most hunting bows are 75% to 90% let off, with a shorter brace 5" to 7" brace. I use too shoot Hoyt. Now I shoot Mathews. Trust me I don't regret getting rid of my Hoyt. Hoyt is 600 to 800 dollars more, and half the bow compared to a Mathews. My Halon 6 and Triax are dead in the hand. Silent as a church mouse. No hump and dump like a Hoyt. No spongy back wall like a Hoyt has. No noise and vibrations like a Hoyt. You can stand next too the Halon and newer Mathews when shot. You can't hear them at all. All you hear is the arrow burying in the target.

    This video proves that archery muscles are built with practice. Chris isn't the biggest guy by any means but he has no trouble with a 80# bow!

    • @MrShysterme
      @MrShysterme 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Honestly, this can be bad for you. I was a skinny teenager and only my bow muscles were strong. I could pull an 80 lbs bow and was smaller than Chris. But the opposing muscles were undeveloped and I got shoulder issues. You can't have huge back muscles on your right side and nothing else. I work out now and have built my whole body and I pull heavier weight and have no health issues.

    I just recently subscribed and now back watching all of your videos. I've been looking at purchasing a new bow and the RX1 was at the top of the list because I want to get into target tournament shooting as well as continuing to hunt, and you definitely put my mind at ease with this comparison. I have been looking around for about a year into different bows and trying to find the right fit. Thank you for the great content. Also I don't know if you edit your own videos or have an editor but the amount of work that goes into some of the Adobe Premier features you have are awesome. So hat goes off to on that as well. For a video idea could you do a review on limb savors and try and see if you can quite that bow?
    Keep up the videos, great work so far!

    • @V8VRUte
      @V8VRUte 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The prevail originally comes with limb dampers, but with repeated shooting, they wear out, so I think a few people (myself included) don't bother to replace them. Yes, the bow is louder without them, but it doesn't affect accuracy at all. Also, you can put a string stop on, but again, it's not necessary, and most don't bother.

    If you do another comparison like this, set the bows up as closely as possible (same draw weight, same letoff, same arrow rest, sight, stabilizers,, same release,) and I bet you will find that the hunting bow scores pretty much exactly the same. . . Anyone questioning whether or not a good hunting bow is up to the task of serious target competition, just remember this. . . The current world compound FITA record is held by the Mathews SWITCHBACK, a 33"ata hunting bow. . .

      Which record, cause there are plenty of possibilities? And still i don't think so, especially since it's a really old bow by now.

      Aug 5/6, 2006 Fita 70 meter double, 711/707 total scores with his Switchback. Ok maybe not CURRENT but still impressive for a "Hunting bow"🙄
