@@Guitarial_arts um there is a difference between playing great stuff and writing great stuff lol take it from a guitar player and musician myself its something you don't think about you just play and if you do try to think about it that's when it usually doesn't turn out so great the best or usually the best stuff comes from accidents *shrugs* the music life 😂 lol side note there is no best guitar player as there will always be better and that goes for anything its a subjective topic with a rabbit hole on top lmao Xd

@@frozenfury009 yeah dude, I’ve been playing, writing and recording everyday for 30 years. Sounding musical is what’s important. Many of the best songs and riffs of all times are very simple to play. It’s music, not a guitar skills competition. Too many people don’t understand this.

@@Guitarial_arts very true indeed! and you are right and to add to that most people are just caught up in the little things unnecessarily and over look the simple stuff or they end up over thinking it especially to the shredders out there as sometimes slow is faster depending on the musical context and or for another analogy if the speed limit is 20mph you dont speed or shred through it going 150mph LOL lmao XD a disaster waiting to happen and you will fly by alot of important things! 😂 and its all a puzzle and a journey at the end of the day :) and thats amazing to hear you have been writing and recording for 30 years! hats off to you my friend as ive been playing music for 16 years/ recording music for 8 years and for writing original music ive been doing that for 4 years and it always goes back and forth between writing original musical pieces and covering songs as i actually get some of my ideas for covering songs as i dont cover it the exact way as i add my own musical style and touch to the music accordingly! anyways as always its awesome to run into another musician/artist/recording artist/ guitarist/guitar player and i hope you are well my friend cheers! 🤟😎👍🎸🎶🙏

People are so prejudiced against BFMV, for me it's one of the best metalcore bands that ever lived, I remember when I was a kid and I heard Hand Of Blood for the first time on an old CD by my sister, man that chorus and that solo made me stop listening to Black Metal XD, I remember how my friends and I wanted to form a band and be like them, best soundtrack of my teenage years!

    • @apocalypsecat1665
      @apocalypsecat1665 2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

Their last album isn't BFMV anymore, and the reason isn't in "band doesn't exist without James and Moose", no, it just doesn't sound like BMFV, it's default modern metalcore.
It's not bad, maybe it's ok, but its everything else, except BFMV, they lost their firm sound, they lost themselves.

    • @russthompson4922

@David Nissim yeah for me they brought me back into metal. Late 80s early 90s it was Maiden, metallica, sepultura, pantera, death etc. Then drifted off into Nu metal Era with Deftones, Mudvayne, Tool (even tho tool isn't nu metal). Kinda faded out of metal for a bit. Heard scream aim fire and then later picked up The Poison which is still my fav from them. Now I'm listening to almost every sub-genre of metal except maybe black. Bullet along with trivium brought it back for me.

This is crazy as fuck! He's litterly has the same guitar journey of starting to play guitar that I've had. Up until the part where he started with BFMV. No wonder why I always liked Michael Paget as a guitarist.

10.03.2014 we, about 20 people, who didn't know each other, waited for BFMV at the Novosibirsk airport for 9 hours. Before it Matt got sick and the show in Ekaterinburg was cancelled.
When the plane arrived we met 'em inside the airport. The band wasn't ready for that)
Padge was the only one who came straight to us and started to talk, give autographs, make photos. He was serious, but looked like he's having fun)
Then the other guys came to us too.
Gifted Matt an album with the pics of the city, signed by all of us, was very nervous while talking to him)
At the show was in a front row, Padge recognized me, waved a hand))
    Ah, sweet days)
Have a few vids, recorded at this show, on channel) Kinda shitty, but fun)
Michael smiled a lot and was very affable)
Also really liked his playing and stage presence. Pro is pro)

Such a great guy from what I've seen and heard of him over the years. Funny how he can pin down exactly which songs and riffs fascinated him and made him pick up the guitar. I tell you now, Pagde, The Poison with its riffs was what inspired me to learn heavier tunes and be in bands. Thanks for that, mate!

Bfmv could have been an epic metal band if they didn't stray from their roots. They have the potential and the talent to be a next gen elite metal band of our time. They sort of blew it.
