seeing how many holiday party outfits I can create from my casual closet
Christmas time is here! Happiness and cheer! Fun for all…except for those of us who are getting ready for a holiday party and have nothing to wear (that’s how the song goes right??)
In years past, I would have bemoaned the casualness of my closet come holiday time, and as a result, been very tempted to go on a search for the perfect festive party dress, only to end up adding items to my closet that would be worn once and forgotten about.
This year, I’m taking a different approach and I just want to see, how many holiday outfits can I actually create from my everyday casual wardrobe? We shall see.

keeping only my favorite clothes + what it taught me
มุมมอง 13K14 วันที่ผ่านมา
I’ve had some major shifts in my wardrobe the past few months (namely getting rid of a TON of unused and unloved clothing items) and I can’t believe how much better I feel getting dressed every day using my smaller wardrobe! As someone who struggles with compulsive shopping, I have not come by closet contentment easily, so I wanted to share: how it happened and what it’s taught me so far! If yo...
how to glow up (intangible but practical ways to become more beautiful)
มุมมอง 1.2K21 วันที่ผ่านมา
We all know the glow up videos - typically taking place over a 24 hr period and including things like a haircut, a tanning routine, and an everything shower. Now I’m not here to poo poo the power of a good shower (postpartum mamas where u at), but I do feel like there’s a few areas of “glowing up” that often go neglected on the internet. Here’s my two cents about the intangible qualities that m...

The eternal mom struggle. Drink. Too cold. Hmm. Too hot. Welp. There's my time. No drink.
😂
I have purchased Levi’s secondhand so many times, in various sizes and they never work for me! I have a small waist but am curvier through the legs and apparently they just can’t make em for me. I got so frustrated until I finally realized it just wasn’t going to be something I could wear. I have found that vintage Lee jeans fit me better!
I’ll have to look out for Lees next time I’m thrifting!
I have 3 knit dresses and i found them all at the op shop. So happy cause they cost alot new.
Love knit dresses!
I don't know why you're making me want to go watch a Drew Barrymore movie haha you're both so cute 😊
Haha now I want to go watch a Drew Barrymore movie 😅
I do want cargo pants cause I don't fit my old ones anymore lol
This video should go viral. This is GOLD!
I just found your channel and am watching through your backlog. Gosh, I feel like I was meant to find your videos. I am 8 months postpartum with my third child, am coming up on my 33rd birthday, and feeling like I don't know how to wear clothes anymore. I Love your positive outlook and how you're talking yourself through each item. ❤
I'm right there with you on the figuring out clothes again! So glad you’re here 😊
I've watched your video twice and it is truly inspiring, thank you! Probably the best one I've seen for a long time and it's definitely something i needed to hear right now. I always loved fashion, experimenting with clothes and always had a pretty large wardrobe, even in my normcore/minimalist era. I decluttered several times, but also never got to a point you're talking about. 7 or 8 years ago i got into thrifting and never looked back, but my shopping habits got worse, especially for the last 2 years of trying to reinvent my style. I'm not really a trendy person, but i do enjoy watching fashion content and scrolling pinterest and i found myself in a hamster wheel of constantly wanting and buying more stuff. Personal style vids give me a lot of inspiration and confidence to dress more creatively, but also a feeling that it's still not enough, that I'm still not stylish and creative enough. There is also a bunch of clothes in my wardrobe that i rarely or even never wear - some things i got sick of, some things i absolutely love, but have nothing to wear with and some just don't work for me, but i still hold on to them. I've been thinking about the ways to cure my wardrobe and improve my shopping habits, even planning a low-buy year for 2025. For now I've set one rule for myself: only buy high-quality items that i absolutely love, that fit me right and will work with my wardrobe, no synthetic fibers. Decluttering, on the other hand, seems tricky. Maybe I'll just store away everything i have doubts about and see how it feels to have a small wardrobe of the most loved and used pieces.
Great video! ❤ definitely subscribing Great attitude and funny
☺️☺️
I would be a person who considers myself to have no style. But your video really spoke to me. I had a really unique sense of style in my 20s when I was confident at my weight and I felt great. But now being in my 30s and being much heavier after 3 babies, I really don't feel confident in anything. My wardrobe is very minimal since I can rarely find clothes that fit right. I have 1 pair of ill fitting jeans, 2 t shirts, 1 sweatshirt, and 1 flannel shirt that I don't mind wearing. I have 1 pair of sweatpants and a handful of pajama shirts that I wear around the house. It has been my mission recently to find some pieces that I like and I can wear without feeling self-conscious. That's my current goal. I also have a very tight budget, so I need to find time for my hubby to watch our baby so I can go shopping on my own.
So inspiring that you're actively working towards building a wardrobe you feel good in! I can totally relate to the struggle of getting dressed postpartum. Hoping you’re able to find a few pieces that make you feel great 😊
Hi, I'm 75. Never wanted much stuff. We live near Chicago. When I worked in an office, I made a chart of all the combinations I could make with 4 pairs of slacks, 6 shirts, and 4 cardigans. Everything was washable. 3 of us live in a 2BR apartment. Ignore trends, Tina, Al's wife
That’s so smart to plan out your wardrobe combinations!
this video really resonated, thank you for your unique perspective :) you have a real way with words!
I love this kind of content. Normalizing using what you have and not spending money. As well as giving ideas for inspiration in our own closets.
Unsolicited color analysis thoughts - you may be a Summer. if you've been wondering!
I’ve never gotten a professional analysis, but am always curious so I love the input!
I like the new filming location!
You are so genuine funny and authentic 😊
If my jeans are tight in the tummy i put a strong hairtie through the button hole and then loop it around the button and just wear a top long enough to hide the button being slightly open.
The black and white dress with the black sweater was my fav. The first orange dress, and all black outfit were also really cute. And lol holiday cookies to go in pockets 😂
This is genuinely one of the best takes on personal style I have ever seen!! Just discovered your channel recently and your videos are so comforting, you have such a lovely, warm and genuine energy 💕
I think for women especially clothes that can adjust to weight weight bloat and pregnancy changes are so important.
I wear my raincoat like that on my head often when I run to the car 😅
I've got bowls all the same but thrifted 3 different times so it can be worth it collecting a set eventually.
I love thrifting but yes good to be mindful haha great finds!
My hairdresser had a baby a yr ago and she's still not back 😢 it took so long to find a good one. Been growing my hair out since 😅 wonder if she won't come back 😢
This was really inspiring <3 I didn't get anything new to wear to Christmas this year. In previous years I would usually buy a new blouse or dress to wear, but more often than not I had to declutter these pieces later on, since they didn't work with the rest of my closet. I was a little anxious about the idea that I might not have enough things to wear to this year's festive season (we have a lot of family dinner parties and similar events since my partner and I both have divorced parents), but your video inspired me to get creative!
Love a decent inseam for shorts. Practical and modest enough. Just found some that fit pretty well and long enough finally yay cause it's summer here.
I love your creativity!
You're a breath of fresh air! I always feel a bit weird commenting on videos but your videos are great. Love love your outfits 🌲
Love this. Thank you for sharing! I agree with you about one off pieces. I want a multi faceted wardrobe. I've been trying to find the correct drapey high waisted pant and the search continues. Still haven't found the right one yet. I want a raspberry, elastic aged, drapey, high waisted, fancy, not fancy pant. I should probably just get better at seeing...
Ohh I LOVE the idea of a raspberry high waisted pant. The outfit possibilities!
Great video
😊
Love this mindset going into the holiday season. Our one event this year is the candlelight service at church.
We do that every year as well ☺️
Okay but I love doing the "that's it, I'm not going" line 😂 These are all so cute, and this is so inspiring! My style also leans far more casual -- this makes me want to play dress up in my closet! (Also the changing fatigue is real - I'm 34 and after 2 outfit changes I really am doing the Jim skit 😂😂😂)
I'm right there with you on the outfit changes 🤣
Love them all, but #14 is my favorite. My closet is simple and I am always rewearing my favorite pieces in different combinations, so I absolutely love how you did this.♡
It’s hard to beat a favorite staple piece 👏🏼
these looks are all great, and i love the red lips on you!
Thank you! ☺️
The best video I've seen on this subject!

You’re awesome. Thank you for this soul healing video as I’m currently De-cluttering myself
Finding my personal style has been integral to my life. I stopped buying or wearing clothes I felt was "socially acceptable". Also ignoring trends, I wear what I love and it's made my life happier.
Love this!
🕺🏽 You did awesome 👏🏽 with your goals. You truly deserve an award 🥇 😂 😎
Thank you 😅
24:20 this is such a good exercise! I love that you included this.
It’s been so helpful to me!
This is a really good video.
Wow, really needed to hear this. I feel like I've spent over a year trying to put myself into the "right" box to correctly categorise/find my style. Giving myself the freedom and the grace to simply pick and wear the things I love most I think will be a really positive shift for me and my clothes xx
So happy to hear this. Thank you for sharing! I know for me, it’s been such a relief to discover how much freedom there is ☺️
I literally just binged a bunch of videos of a girl opening mystery box after mystery box and feeling excited over maybe one of two items and she was "meh" about all the rest but she said she'd keep them. It made me feel sad and your video explained why. I also recently heard someone say that you should stop shopping for the person you want to be in your head, but for the person you actually are, and i have a new mindset and am ready to go purge my closet. Thank you!!!!
This is so well done and well explained and is helping me. Thank you
I love this! Trusting that our personal style preferences count is something I haven't heard before, but makes such perfect sense! It is so easy to discredit the items in our closets when holding them to societal trends. Thanks for the reminder to love what we love!
I frankly LOVE the little tidbit of information about you and I Love Lucy, and Gilmore Girls. I specifically loved the outfits in those shows also… but never was so intentional as to write down anything about them. ♥️ This was very relatable and enjoyable. Thank you!
This hit so close to home. Thank you for this video ❤
