@@gti5700 too much weight in the front also causes under steer. I am pretty sure this contraption will take wider line compared to a Motorcycle traveling at same speed.

Great review, I'm an experienced rider (40+ years on bikes) and I absolutely love my NIKEN. I still have a few R1's in my garage but the NIKEN is now my go to bike. I even did a track day on it (just for fun) and was surprised just how capable it was. Yamaha nailed it with this bike!

Hi from Stubbington on the south coast of England. I've been riding motorbikes since the late 1970s. The first time I saw the Niken I really wanted one. Mine arrives in 7 days from now. I feel like a kid on Christmas Eve : o )
Definitely wouldn't be a daily driver because I like two wheels but this would absolutely belong in my collection. I would love to have this motorcycle. I think it looks really cool
It supposedly handles(leaning) just like a 2 wheel motorcycle but just better traction on the turns.
I've only just discovered you and I am sure to start motor riding when I hit the right age. I am just stunned by how excellent the quality and content is. Kudo's to you for making these videos and god bless you.

I was one of your target people…it got me riding…first bike…definitely feel more confident and stable riding. As far as maintenance…1 extra tire is all…the rest as Yamaha is known for, its rock solid..unless you are putting 100km on your bike you won’t have to think of any other maintenance other than the standard bike maintenance. Like all things…evolve or die. The anti evolutionist will eventually come around.

it’s an interesting solution to the main drawbacks of motorcycles: Keeping the front wheel down (more weight over the front with two wheels), Lateral traction limitations (more contact patches equals more traction) and better braking capabilities (see last point). Unfortunately, it’s cons kind of kill the point of a motorbike: Wider, heavier, more moving parts and hence more maintenance. Interesting idea though, I’d like to see how it takes up with the younger market (motorcycle sales are dropping worldwide, some say due to interest evolution in the younger, electronically driven market segment)

For how much it costs it should have reverse. It should also have an ability to stand up on it own similar to a Piaggio mp3.
That bike is more of a realistic experiment...quite typical Yamaha if you ask me. Trying and experimenting designs for a radical approach.
It's basically a halo bike to showcase what Yamaha is capable of engineering.

Add one more wheel and the comments be like "O no my maintenance!" How do these people handle driving regular cars, I don't know. It's such a pointless gripe because if you can afford a Niken, who the f cares about 1 extra tire and a set of brake pads.
