That day was sweet.😮😊
Asian American New Yorker here.. I totally get why you left NYC. Everything is super competitive here and you don't get a lot for the extremely high rate of consumption. Having a good social life here is so unhealthy too; BKK seems so much healthier both physically and financially. I visited Thailand for two weeks pre-COVID. I miss it so much! I'm still far from being able to move out of the states though =[
If you’re a New Yorker, paying NYC rent, you can move to Thailand yesterday 😅
Great video. You are living a very lavish lifestyle in Bankgok for less than $100 usd a day. My Isaan village life I spend about $15 a day.
Yep, if I was living in chiang mai or similar, I’d probably only spend around $20/day.
I live for around 20 to 25 USD per day in the USA. Key is too avoid drinking in bars and eating in restaurants. Same applies in Thailand. Can live for very cheap if you avoid staying in hotels, drinking in bars, partying, eating out in western/foreign restaurants, and paying for taxis.
$100 a day is still pretty pricey for Thailand. When a Thai local lives on 10-15,000 baht per month. You have to keep it in the right perspective.
I live in Hua Hin, you have to shop at street markets where the locals shop. Most of the time, I’m the only farang there…lololol. But, I spend around 1100 baht for food for the whole week. Not 500 baht for one meal shopping in a grocery store inside a mall in Bangkok…lololol.
I did ask my Thai gf about this video because paul Lee has a Thai gf, why isn’t she showing him where to shop…lolol.
My Thai gf did say that where paul is living in Bangkok, it’s all farang and tourist, and there’s no street markets to by groceries…
@@stegura83 I am curious as to what you call "living." Where? What's included? It is not possible for a functioning adult to live anywhere in the U.S. for $20/day when you include food, housing, and transportation, which are the essentials.
@@RealSerie26 $25 per day just includes food, beverages, alcohol, gas money, the occasional trip to the movie theater, a new t-shirt, etc. $25 per day doesn't include rent, insurance, cell phone bill, mortgage on a house, or utilities bills, etc.
Cool lifestyle man, I need to try some of these social events and make some new friends! Thanks for sharing!
Love your life! Thailand is on my list!
Hey Paul, been watching your videos lately and will be visiting/staying in Thailand soon. Still deciding between Chiang Mai and Bangkok, and weighing the pros and cons of each city. Your videos and content have been super helpful and very inspirational for my future trip there! Keep up the great videos!
BOSS life brother, you deserve it! Would like to see more videos on thai food
Looks so nice!
Damn... underwater exercise bikes I need to try those 👀
Great video Paul, I am currently in Jomtien on holiday till December 5, then back to the States. I can't wait till I retire in Jomtien 2025.
For me Khao Man Gai is my goto dish. Nice video.
What was the name of the first condo building with the rooftop pool/spa?
Brilliant! Thanks.
Would you please make a video of your top 10 restaurants in terms of taste and price point in bangkok/Thailand? i would love to know where all the local spots are that tourists don't go to often. Thanks!
Certainly appreciate the info. A better analysis would be showing a monthly cost as you noted, this was a entertainment weekend so it skews the daily expenses. With the monthly, we would be able to extrapolate the average daily, which is much better idea of cost to live in Thailand. Thanks!
I made an old video on this but will update a new monthly video soon!
Nice low key weekend.
Those apartments are awesome! I'll admit I spend in a month what you spend in less than 2 weeks and live very comfortably, but if it brings you joy, you go for it! I did pull a pained face however when I saw how much your groceries cost when a Big C or even a local market are everywhere. XD
Aaa...nice one dude. Damn...lm only 6 weeks short before l join you all. 😊
Yes worth it 🤙🏼
yes, GRAB bike service are the best transportation and its cheap.
Cool Thai language exchange practice and connect with locals
Yes. Highly recommend!
Thanks for sharing, I migh missed that, but what would be the price to live in such condo long-term?
Anyone know the name of the first building he showed. It was amazing
Don't skip your greens my friend!! ;)
Can you please share the name of the two condos you visited?
Good content 🙏🏽 reasons I’m never living in US again lol
Indoor slide, wow! U really live a good quality and happy life there for 2 k usd / m!!!! Nice!!! :)
I only spend a little over 1 k usd / m here in Stockholm, but i have cheap hobbies. Sports and Tottenham online, but that's almost free so...
Dude, how/where are you getting these 15-minute motorbike rides for 60 THB? If this is true, I have been getting robbed since I have never paid less than 80 THB to go anywhere, even relatively short distance. But they are pretty consistent on their fares, i.e. each leg costs the same even with different drivers.
What was the name of the Lunch Restaurant ?
Are you at knightsbridge bro
Coming to Thailand in a few weeks. How did you extend your visa? I finally got approved for tourist visa, but people say to fly out and back (but that they may not let you back in).
Border run. Go to either Lao or Cambodia.
Once you’re in Thailand you can get another visa like education, business, or elite. Or just keep doing border runs
Get ED Visa or the place Paul showed in the video UnionSpace, they can open a company or sponser your work permit its a bit costly but much easier , you can do business or work in Thailand by opening a company
@@iPaulLee isn't there a rule where you cant be in thailand for more than 180 days tho?
What name of rooftop bro ?
Name of go to restaurant? That steak and egg dish looks good, and 95 bahr is hard to beat.
your filming is very clear.
Thanks for the vid. I just thought things were cheaper.
I spend a lot bro, if you really wanted to live conservatively and comfortably , you could probably do so for around $1-$1.5k/month
Could you give me the name of the 2nd condo
Ideo Asoke Rama 9
Hello Paul, I am Jason, Chinese Canadian have been living in Canada for 23 years. I have followed your videos for a while and enjoyed your interviews with Joyce and Forrest. I had purchased some rental properties at Macon where you grew up and really understand why you moved to New York and then Bangkok. I am planning a trip to Thailand with my son during his college break time next month who is 20 years old, but I am so concerned if he will have enough activities or social events to keep him busy and see more people. I don’t have any idea what to do with him except dining and shopping. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you.
He has to go rooftop bars and nightclubs to socialize
There are a lot of excursions you can take. Visit Erawan National Park (only a 3 hour bus ride from Bangkok). Visit Koh Larn (closest island with beaches), visit one of the floating markets, visit Ayuthaya, visit Hua Hin and Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park. There are tons more of things to do/see.
What a coincidence you bought properties in Macon! Yeah, nothing much there in my opinion.
If it’s yall’s first time, I recommend doing all the touristy things like temples, malls, sightseeing etc.
But for social, maybe consider language exchange, meetups, foreigner - centric bars, etc. particularly in neighborhoods like Soi 11, and Asoke.
@@brooklyn6264For 20 yrs old boy, is it good idea to take him to nightclubs?
@@brooklyn6264 is it a good idea to take 20 yrs old boy to nightclub?
Hey dude. How was language exchange?
Great!
What condo was in the beginning of the vid dude
Park origin thonglor
@@iPaulLee thanks bud! How is living in Bangkok. I live in Hua Hin!
Hey Paul. Love the content. Thinking about moving to Thailand like yourself. What did you do with your car payment before you left the states? Thanks. 👍
I own my car, and it’s actually still sitting at my relatives house collecting dust 😢
Hey passport bro Latina American or Asia ? For woman / passport bro what better ?
???
did the food cost include 2 people (the girl) or was it only for you?
Both of us 🤯
insane...i realized i missed a part of the video initially, but you laid out everything clearly, thanks bro@@iPaulLee
Good 😊🎉❤
101% worth it compared to the woke west. Keep up the good times man.
100% agree
With that amount of food may i suggest you eat 2 meals a day. 😅😁🤭
Caught
I wish I could get meals like that here 3 dollars each. It would never happen in the united states. I feel so unhealthy here. And I don't know how to fix it. I'm trying to get out of here is fastest possible
I hear you man. The only way to eat healthy and affordable in US is cooking your own food
@iPaulLee Not anymore. It's insane just this last 2 months food alone up 45%
@@iPaulLee I love your videos by they way. Moving out there soon. Starting busses
@@iPaulLeeyes, rice, beans and vegetables... cheap and healthy... throw in a piece of meat once in a while
Bro 1 McDonald’s meal here in DC is like $11 💀
Damn 😂
Hey paul Can you suggest a good Airbnb for a week in thailand
Got to shave bro, but if you do you look younger. Money you spent cheap considering you pay 500 rent. 😊
Will you be marrying that nice Thai girl?
Yo I messaged you on Discord
