The reading before you go to bed is a really solid rec! I get so much more reading done when I'm consistent about that.

Great video William, I'm a reader more when I go to bed in the evenings and I sometimes read during the day but I read better in a silent space.

These are great tips, especially the first one! Since most of my family and closest friends aren’t really readers (tragic, I know! 😩), joining bookstagram and watching booktubers has been a game changer.

The awesome thing about finding the corners of these social medias :). It is dangerous as well, as I am always tempted to buy ten more books I see people talking about 🤣

Steve Donoghue said to come and watch your vlog. I already read a lot of books because I am a mood reader. I read a lot of romance books. I can actually walk with a book in my hand and read. I read at home, at work and in bed. I listen to books on Audible as well. You didn’t mention mood reading or finding a new author like I’ve done recently.

Thanks so much for this video! I'm in my first book club this year, and that's helping me stay on track with my goals, because someone else is depending on me to finish the books, as well! And it makes it that much more enjoyable/motivating to get to the point of discussing a book with someone. Our club meetings so far have been amazing. Also keeping on a routine has been huge for me - at least 30 mins before bed everyday makes all the difference in the world. Happy reading William!

That is awesome to hear. Book clubs are great, for both reasons you said! So glad you're finding ways to read more. Thanks so much for watching, and happy reading to you as well :)!

After embarking on a Wheel of Time marathon which lasted for a year and a half, even though I read other books inbetween (some of which weren’t fantasy), I still, at times, felt oversatiated with the series and even questioned my decision of turning to fantasy as one of my new main genres 😅 There are people who can read the whole series in one go, or at least read half and half, but for me, 3 in a row is already stretching it. I need some Pratchett, nonfiction and other genres to spice up my reading drive. I feel I should have a higher tolerance for just reading fantasy, but after reading The Lord of the Rings in the 6th and 8th grade and plowing through ASoIaF 7 years ago (I’m 32), as someone with a degree in humanities (history and English, ESL to be exact), I guess I’m just too used to reading the classics and modern literary genres, which isn’t to say that fantasy isn’t slowly taking over. I’m still at around 35 books per year (I work a full and a part time job 😅), but listening to audio really helps to boost that number. I’d also like to recommend Robert McCammon’s Trevor Lawson Duology in audio format. I see you read a lot of wild west fiction and non-fiction and this has a horror setting which might appeal to you. It’s an interesting crossover.

Every time you say "maybe " I'm tempted to shout back "MAYBE"... I watch too much of ya's...😄
Good tips here, and I try to put into practice. I'm a slow reader in general, so I try to supplement a lot of free time with reading to be able to make a dent in that ever-growing TBR.
Honestly, I don't watch much TV these days. Some news, and maybe a show or two each week. I slowed down movie watching to about 1 or 2 a month.
Most of my reading occurs between 7-10 each night, bit I try to get a bit in, in the mornings if I can.

Hahah it does feel weird not hearing someone say it back 🤣. Hahah, it is an eternal war against the tbr pile!

So if a person could set aside 15 minutes a day for reading, they could read about 4 Brandon Sanderson books in a year, ha ha! I love audio books while I am working on my art/quilting. Right now listening to the Return of the King after you or your brother recommended the Andy Serkis version. Loving it after having read the series numerous times in my life. All good tips you gave. Read On!
