The OG covergirl lipstain is honestly my fav makeup item of all time, glad they're finally back. I kinda wish they kept the old look tho, these colors seem a little different. Still pretty regardless !!
Crying at the price. These were definitely $5.99-$6.99 back in the day. New price shouldn't exceed $10, all respect to the changing times. The browner shades do intrigue me, otherwise I'll stick to my ELF glossy lip stains.
Yeah, I'm getting nicer water based stains for $4-5 from J and K beauty brands. I loooooved the markers but no to that price. Until I cave because it's hard to find a nudey stain lol. I don't love glossy stains, as I have to take it off & then put on my SPF, but that's minor for the price diff.

I love the idea of lip stain markers; however, it seems to be a formula that is hard to make. They are either patchy, have unpredictable application, dries out really quickly, etc. I saw these and was ready to be disappointed again, but thank you for doing this video. These really look like they hit the mark.
Also, am I alone in preferring the slimmer lipstick tubes? I know it is less product, but I think they are more comfortable to use.

I also almost always top with gloss. They're best worn that way.

Girl… Loving your video. You do the most amazing swatches! You deserve first place. 😂 I love these and use them as a liner along with elf lip stains and then I keep my center of my lip natural or sometimes a bright tint just in the center. Topped with gloss it looks great for the entire day! Great job!

I love marker stains. Avon had the Mark sub-brand that had outstanding ones that I have about 4 of still to this day. It's great to know there are now more options.

I still have 2, one is Max Factor, I forget the other. They are so old, at least 18 years because I bought them in the US and brought them with me when I moved to the UK. And they still work fine!
I have vitiligo so my “chest” is one area where I have no melanin left. So I did use them for my lips, often as a base, but more so to keep the ‘tips of “the girls” looking rosy. If you get my meaning 😂
I’ve already searched and of course they are not available here. I’m going to be hopeful and say ‘yet’. There are some lovely colours. There is one plus when waiting for a product to sell here, getting to watch lots of in depth videos thus being more informed and not impulse buying something that I don’t like, want, need.
As an aside, I had the Benetint lip and cheek stain when it came out when it had the little brush (a pain) but recently tossed it. I was never quite happy with it for lips, drying, nice on the cheeks & I one who liked the rose smell). It was older than the markers and also still works. I thought, since tossing it, that I may give it a go with the new applicator and 4 colours to choose from. That said I still like these markers.
Trivia, ‘exotic dancers’ were basically the first to get into the Benetint for the same reason I pointed out above with the markers.
BTW, the lower half of your face is very pretty. I hope your lips survived this. This is the first video of yours I’ve seen and I’m really glad it popped up thanks to the YT algorithm. Finally it threw me a good one 😉

Palladio still makes a lip stain marker. Very curious and excited to see how the covergirl stains work!
True but i honestly hate those 😭 imo they're sooo dry. Covergirl ones are the best quality i think
These are SO much better than the Palladio ones. At least the OG version, which I swear by. Tried finding replacements ever since they were discontinued and nothing came close.

I'm so glad these made a comeback ❤ I got natural blush and the raisin shade a couple days ago and my favorite way to use them is to put them on fully, wait for them to dry down, and then wipe with a wet paper towel to get the blotted version of the color
My lips get very pale when they dry out so I'm just basically giving my lips a base color that isn't already there and then I can layer tinted lip balms or just chapstick over and still look slightly more put together

I bought this product, sight unseen, on the internet in the shade 40 Jazzberry, which is a medium-deep berry with approximately equal parts pink and purple.
This is an old-fashioned marker type stain, quite different from the more recent glossy stains. I heartily second the advice to exfoliate before wearing this, as it will accentuate rough or dry patches. The good news is, you can slather any type of balm, lipstick, and/0r gloss on top of this stain without destroying the stain's staying power.
I wear this stain as a base under a similarly colored lipstick and gloss, so that when the more emollient products begin to wear off, I still have some color remaining, and it's fairly even.
This stain is cruelty-free (a must for me), reasonably priced, comes in a good range of colors (I want Iconic Ruby next!) and are fairly easy to find.
This is how I like to wear my lip products too, especially if I am going to be eating or out in public where I can’t reapply discreetly.

In 2014, NYC still had lip stains. Gee, it’s been a decade. I had every color of the CV outlast stains.
I loved the NYC and Cover Girl outlast lip stains too. Worn them for years with just a clear lip balm or gloss over them. They lasted forever and didn't bleed. Really easy to apply.I will have to check them out. Maybe the price has been reduced by now. Thank you @

I have the old NYC lip stain that you showed and i absolutely loved it!! It was my go-to that i always used so i can relate. :) There was one color that i wore out, like a nude color of brown.
I am concerned about the denatured alcohol as i already have dry lips, hopefully i can use an oil or gloss over the product without major transfer.

I’d be interested in a real world wear test layered with lip balm. I know the description says it’s wearable with balm but I’m curious about whether that affects the staining or removal.
I almost always wear a clear balm or gloss over them. It helps the color even out. It doesn't affect how they stain.

As a cashier who obviously talks a LOT lol, I picked one of these up and man, it does stay/stain! Not patchy or anything, worth the price in my opinion.
Are they drying on the lips? How do they perform with a balm or gloss on top?
Hmm it seems like some of the colors look less saturated on the lips? Part of me is glad, but I also wonder what kind of stain it leaves if it's not saturated.
You can build them up or keep them sheerer. I forgot to mention it during the video, but I layered some of them and kept some more sheer.

Ok, I remember jonesing for those marker stains back in the day. I didn't hear whether you thought they were comparable to the ones from a decade ago. Or has Covergirl improved the formula? By the way, on the ingredients list, you missed "Aroma/Flavor."
I did!?!?! Oh my gosh! As for comparing, these have stronger pigment, but I'm not sure it that's because of formulation or because the old ones I have are old and so lower on pigment.
I loved the old outlast….. I bought as many as I could. I got the new one and it bleeds all over, and is uneven:(
I had to search these cause 1. I ALWAYS get the wrong fcking color! Idk if it’s just the stores lighting or what.. but I ALWAYS think I’m getting like a more brownish nude and it comes out red or pink or plum!! lol so I just had to see what someone else said.
