This black and white video gives it a sort documentary look and feel which I find to be a teachable reminder of what rock and roll SHOULD be. I only discovered Grace Potter and the Nocturnals last night on a lonely Christmas day/eve and I find them absolutely superb. I almost cried listening and seeing a f---ing great band at its best. I hope they put this video in a capsule, send it out to space as a message: we invented the H-Bomb and blew up this planet...why didn't we all just drink wine and go to see this band in concert...world peace would have ensued.
am i hallucinating those snowy peaks of the adirondacks in the background? i think not... vermont is the best of the east, and i remember like it was yesterday (but it was 14 years ago...), grace with the nocs ("stop the bus" etc) live at red rocks, on their first tour... had no idea who the band was, but they were young, on fire, and uncanny how they could ebb, flow and peak, and bring everyone along with them .... (only the handful of great bands can do that) and to cut to the chase: the pure raw delivery of these goods (inspiration) = what we really need, almost more than anything these days....got to see what we can do about that
Yes- I miss the Nocs. But Grace’s newest album Daylight kicks ass! She is back to her soulful roots... Midnight was an experiment for her. Every artist goes through it at some point. But she found her way back, with our without the Nocs. I personally think Daylight is some of her best work:)
Hope on! Given Grace's previous and now current relationship with the Nocturnal's drummer means that IMO a full reunion of the Nocturnal's isn't much more likely than a reunion of the Beatles.
I saw GP on 1/25/20 at The Anthem in Wash DC.. She was fabulous. I think her chemistry with the Nocturnals was different than her current band. This group is a 'business band' while the Nocs were family. Her new music is amazing, but there is that little intrinsic component lacking she had with the Nocs. I hope she eventually does a reunion with them once all her demons are healed. Regardless, i adore her music, have every song she's ever sung and put her at # 1 on my must listen to list.
Agreed Tim Williams. I havn't cared much for Grace since she left the Nocturnals. They were a kick ass group of musicians that she really needed to enhance her music.
I love this band it makes me feel really good listening to this.
And I introduced this video to all of my friends And they love it too.
I saw Grace Potter back in Feb 20, 2022 and it was a GREAT show! Loved you Grace, especially when you brought your young son up on stage with you! :-)
One word... AWESOME!!!!
Она-Великая!!!!+

must have said the wrong thing to power because she's better than those who made it big
Like so many great young bands, they grew too fast and too big and split up and now we never hear anything from any of them. What a waste of talent.
The good old Days.
would love to see Grace and the Nocturnals.
The pop band not so much

Sometimes a QB on the dance floor kin bring you up to the highest possible level. Kinda like Brett Fahrve.
