- X-23 is finally here, and she might just live up to the crazy hype she had leading up to her release. She's a perfect fit for destroy decks, which are already a powerful archetype.

Power Estimate: This deck felt solid, but probably isn't the best way to play X-23. The card itself felt really powerful, opening up both mid-game tempo plays and late-game bombs, and in the right decklist, will likely feel like a really powerful enabler. Thanos and Nimrod shells seem like the best fits so far, but time and data will tell us where X-23 really belongs.

Yo X-23 looks like such a cool card, I think there’s one missed opportunity though. Wish it was 2 cost, 3 power purely for the fact that I would smirk to myself every time I’d see it because it would also be saying 23. This is not a serious take, thank you for listening to my Ted talk
There's a great talk from Mark Rosewater, famed card game designer who talks a lot about the aesthetics of card design, and this is a great example. Not always worth sacrificing balance, but sometimes leaning into it can make people fall in love with cards.

I actually feel like this'd be a good rebalance on top of the ~A E S T H E T I C~ satisfaction. She might be too strong now being Killmonger-able, and it also protects you from sometimes having to unwillingly kill the opponent's X23.
So after some testing, I think for 6 round games she pairs soooo well with dead pool-knull-death decks, but is an absolute monster with Magik, aka 7 turn games.
She ramps you so you can essentially have 2 turn 6’s while the opponent can’t. Not really a purpose for magic t7 plays
@@ronaldsmith8802right. I use her to avoid playing Magik due to all the legions, storms, scarlet witches, rhino, reality stones

I played a knull on turn 4 in thanos destroy. X23 is legit
she lives up to the hype absolutely amazing. her partnered with knull, partnered with death,partnered deadpool. seriously completes destroy as a whole.

i had 3 collectors caches saved, got silk, nebula and 1000 tokens. No big deal since i had some credits to spend until the next collector cache but still, thats some luck.
Those cards are better anyway.

straight up missed my 2 saved up spotlights, but yay for silk and a mediocre nebula skin. praying for the drop in the last spotlight at the end of the week. I simply can't afford a 6000 token card

I really like it in Thanos Destroy, won 5 games in a row, it's really awesome even if you get it on turn 5!!

Personally excited for her. Her with Sabretooth seems great to keep spiking Knull.
No any animations? Nah
Not something I noticed, but yeah that's kinda crazy. Super hyped card, Series 5, it's gotta have them. I bet it'll come later, but we're only getting 4-5 new cards a month, I think you just have to keep up with that pace for animations. People are spending the equivalent of $75+ on a card, and it doesn't have animation at release, that's just not good enough.
They will start adding them up later, even infinaut got one recently, some of the recent releases don't have an animation because most of the animation team is working on the pc version

Like, it's okay if you want to prioritize other things, but it's also a reality that people may be dissatisfied in the quality of their purchases and stop buying things from you. I think it's reasonable for people to expect there to be enough buns to go around if they're spending a $75 equivalent on a hamburger.

I mean it's just card game how hard it is to make simple animation compared to card game like runeterra, they even have cgi animation for each champion card.

Putting X-23 in a zoo deck is also good, because then she can’t be destroyed by an enemy killmonger.
They honestly need to tune down the destroy locations.

Around 13:11, you could have just carnaged the monster since you are playing knull and not risk x-23 rolling mid.
He needed the energy boost from x-23 in order to play the six energy card on Turn 5

i think destroy archetype need more destroy card in cheap cost. sometimes when i have bad hands at early 4 turn its hard to progress on 2 last turn
that’s the game, just retreat early when you don’t have a good line. when it’s turn 3/4 you done your good line and you have an endgame, then you snap.

You're missing your pace when they not drawn early.
Taskmaster might end up being better than Zola here. It's less power since you can't double the Knull but you don't get screwed with spacing.
Little off topic, i really wish they'd stop putting variants in the special caches. Feels so fucking bad rolling the variant instead of 2 new cards :/
X23 or save for alioth?
You'll most likely have enough caches to get both. Alioth also got nerfed, it's 6 energy now.

I am somewhat angry that they price this at 6000 tokens. It's a very strong card that has potential to shape up the meta, and they place it at a very high cost to force people into spending real money. We are receiving a lot less tokens than before, and they have been placing token bundles a lot more often and at a very high cost, which is starting to look like scummy...
From what I was seeing in streams, she didn't seem great outside of highlights. I think mostly due to her just jumping around randomly after being destroyed, which sorta adds a little chaos to games that hurts her consistency I think. Like, you seem to have had a good run, but a lot of the top streams seemed to have a consensus that she was much weaker than expected, at least in the current state of the game with what cards and decks are available.
She definitely suffers from landing in the wrong spot like wolverine but you have to account for that and a lot of streamers aren't really playing her optimally and just try to go for big crazy plays.
You don't need to destroy her every turn, she doesn't gain power, sometimes it's better to just destroy her on turn 4
Edit: been playing her a lot myself and I've been having great plays. I use Magik and psylocke a lot so it helps to not have to use them anymore since Limbo can be changed and psylocke is very dependent on being played the turn before the big play and only works once.
Am I the only one who hates that Regis is not using a single variant in this game? Like why? Base cards are boring not even a single gold or ink split🙄
I opened 4 spotliight caches and didnt get the card, i reslly dont care about the varients, feelsbadman. I used my tokens in legion so i guess im just never gonna get this card. Dont known why people say this system is better than the previous one. Was really looking forward to trying this card, gutted. Rant over.
If you opened 4 Spotlight Caches after its release and didn't get it, you need to contact support. It's guaranteed in 4 caches.
