@@cronicbear5311 eh.... I'm new to Mafex, and did pick up the new Spiderman. I did the shoulder swap, which was nerve-wracking. Triumphant Batman and DKR Superman are amazing. The only figure that has been giving me issues is the DKR Joker. If I move the waist the slightest bit, it pops off. Thankfully Amazon gave me a full refund for that one, but overall I've been happy with the ones I picked up so far .
To me, my problem is it's less to do with the reusing itself and more to do with reusing half-baked body molds with average to poor torso articulation.
Agreed. If they're going to reuse over and over and over then they need to spend the money and get it right first time. Even my favourite of 2022 (the 2 pack Spiderman) has some pretty big issues that could be easily sorted. Also accessories, they have the molds and they keep cheaping out on us haha
Nah. It's the prices. Reuse is fine if it makes sense. In spiderman's case it makes sense. This guy seems to have no clue about what he's talking about.
@user-ks4lt2yx6y I'm not sure who you're referring to, but the retro carded spider man has really wonky proportions, and the Diaphragm and abcrunch combo really doesn't work, the range of the torso is worse than the regular bodies, and the dumbell joint is way too far down the neck. the renew your vows' body molds may be slightly better with it's sculpt, but still, the articulation needs simple but major improvements. and the drop-down hips need to go they're a pain in the butt to deal with, I should know I have that figure, and GI Joe Classified (their articulation is much better tho)

Also the ab crunch thing is probably just your figure. My 2099 figure has an awful ab crunch but it's not like that on other figures with the same mold.

My problem are the new boxes where I can't see what I'm buying. This wouldn't be a problem if their paint/quality control was on point, but sadly that's not the case. Being able to actually see the figure before purchasing was crucial.
its the CEO and board of director at Hasbro making all the calls, instead of addressing the issue "We sorry about QC and and try to fix it". They simply ignored the problem, instead used windowless packaging to hide the QC problems. I am sorry, but I can't support a company like this. As a buyer this is a deal breaker for me.
Its some of the prices for me. I used to buy whole waves when they were barely $18. Now its just I pick up what ones I really like. Also I appreciate reviewers here for helping me decide.
Agreed. Reuse isn't a problem. The price increase was stupid but some of these newer prices are just insane. $35 for a ps5 spiderman? Are you kidding me? Idk when hasbro will get the message.

For me, I’m excited for the NWH stuff. However, I am very annoyed that I have to wait till the end of the year. Till then I’m finishing my predator lost tribe from neca and picking up a few Indiana jones figures.
That is NOT a reissue of the PS4 figure. That is a completely new figure. The head and deco are completely original and match the upgraded suit for the PS5 Spider-Man 2 game. You can tell by the waist and of course the head. It’s an entirely different body to as opposed to the original release. Superior figure.
That is not the ps4 advance suits it’s from the Spider-Man 2 trailer. Looking at the renders I think that it is a new sculpt but we won’t be getting any interchangeable hands.
I'm 50/50. Personally I think it's silly people complain about body sculpt. There's only so many ways you can design the muscular form, ask any actual artist, that's why we're taught anatomy and movement first because we're all working with the same form here. And it makes perfect sense from a business perspective. I just think people expect way too much in that regard. If they give Wolverine a couple extra LBs we'd be hearing how Hasbro botched him. I can't be mad that they make the smart choice and cut out redesigning what already works. But where I do agree is MSRP. It's getting ridiculous. ML exists as the fine median between kids toys and imports and when ML start becoming just as expensive as imports... that's a problem. I've always been preferred imports and that hasn't changed but I still grab the occasional ML and I'm usually really pleased. But that price...woof. Also their schedule is...bad. 2 years out to get NWH figures? Stealth releases? It's just a mess. I also HATE their selections. I know some die hards love these obscure characters, but holy heck it's annoying how we still lack so many MCU leads and major comic characters, but here's this one guy from a 1986 issue of X-Men no one remembers....I just don't get the selection process at this point.
Nah. Look at that female buck…that can’t be improved or changed? If every female character had that shape, then ok, but they don’t. They’re not all that skinny. And the articulation on that female bucks is really lacking. Just a tiny bit of swivel at the torso and nothing at the waist.
Fun video sir. Just FYI though reuse of bucks has been the norm since the beginning of Hasbro. They used the standard “Bucky Cap” body for most males (other than Spidey) and now have transitioned to the Vulcan body with standard butterfly articulation and Pinless joints. The reuse is how they pump out so many figures each year. Enjoyed the video 👍
Bucks have been the norm since like the 70s or 80s where most figures were the same mold but repainted but I don’t know if you would call those bucks it’s really to make these more kid appealed (I’m not saying there for kids) toys cheaper so your not paying import prices on a figure you can just find at target
With all of the reusing, rehashing, the fact that Hasbro forgets to actually finish off certain teams, and the fact that the dc multiverse line is starting to get stronger, I'd say that they definitely need to up their game this year
I got the web trap spiderman from Spiderman 2 this year.Great Condition,sturdy joints,no paint rubs.40 points of articulation. Got it for $55, definitely a steal.
The only Action figure line im buying are Marvel legends, it’s Really rare that I buy other Lines. And I only bought figures I like, so the price is Not a Problem for me
Not worth it, pretty much at all lol. Price increase, less paint, more QC, charging more for box sets, lackluster accessories, same body mold over and over, skimping on articulation, pinned figures when pin-less exists etc. I used to collect about every wave now I’ve only grabbed like 5-15 figures this past year and have not completed a single build a figure.
The only ones I pre-ordered are the Astonishing X-Men figs from the Ch'od wave. Because I've been wanting updated versions of those looks. Also,that's like the only Marvel run that I LOVE aside from every She-Hulk run that is. So yeah.
I really hate the new boxes to be honest, especially since people have been swapping the figures for people to buy without knowing until it’s too late. One of the many joys when I collected Marvel Legends is actually seeing what I’m getting. That’s why I still somewhat appreciate the retro line, even if some of them aren’t the best. However, I am still gonna pick up the reissue of PS4 Spider-Man, since he actually looks really good in my opinion.
Some of Hasbro's tactics and practices are really irking me but at the same time, I can't really say that I will ever be done from collecting marvel legends. They release a lot of obscure figures that I know will never get made by other brands such as mafex and mezco. In my eyes, they provide more quantity than quality but hey, I only collect 1/12 scale marvel figures so I can feasibly buy all their figures along with mafex and mezco ones but I know a lot of other people aren't like that so I understand when others say that they're quitting ML altogether.
I got the zombie iron man figure at a Target near me I think some employee put the set out before they were supposed to They only charged me 6.99 for it! Great deal
Valaverse, Mattel MOTU Origins, and Masterverse, Mcfarlane toys mafex, SH F, Super7, ALL REUSE PARTS. There is not a toy company or industry that does not reuse parts. Why is this such a hard concept for people to get. If you don’t like marvel legends then don’t buy it. But please don’t pretend that Hasbro is the only company that reuses parts, because that’s complete bullshit.
What other companies are reusing a body mold made 11 years ago? The bucky cap mold is still being used now. Its way more than reuse at this point, its straight lazy cash grabbing. Hasbro are in a totally different league when it comes to reuse, its undeniable. Please pull your tongue outta hasbros ass and realize this.
I'm only waiting for a specific figure from the Spiderman/Deadpool Comicbooks besides that no interest in most of the new figures, Knull was a Holy Grail and I hope to get at least a few more symbiotes in the next years
Heads up sorry for the long post, TLDR at end. I started collecting legends 10 years ago and up until recently was always an advocate of Hasbro and loved the line dearly. It connected my interest of comics, my childhood and an amazing community of friends all into one. Had you have asked me two years ago if I ever thought I would feel the way I feel about legends now I would have thought you were crazy but Hasbro has made it hard to feel positive about the direction of the line. From 2016-2021 I was a completist and had also tracked town most of the other toybiz and hasbros figures I had missed out in prior. By 2021 I had over 1,200 legends in my collection and started running out of room in my collection room. Around the time of realizing this space issue I had started tracking down a lot of the Mafex X-men and I fell in love with the quality and amount of stuff you got, around that time prices were only increased on legends once though so it didn’t feel like a rip off yet but then two other increases happened, windowless packaging, less accessories, a ton of reuse, worsening QC, and just an oblivious disregard of the fanbase in general made it hard to defend Hasbro and justify purchases when one figures was damn near half the price of a mafex. With all of that combined it zapped my passion for being a completist so I took a hard look at my collection to realize at the 19.99 price mark I had picked up so much that didn’t mean much to me and in the last 6 months have sold over 500 legends from my collection. Last year I purchased 32 legends as opposed to my normal 120-150 and this year I would say I might purchase even less. I love the X-men figures coming out, they have always been my main focus but as far as 90% of the other stuff im just not buying anymore.
Ever since they did the windowless packaging BS I stopped. QC issues have been worse than ever with paint and damage. Even figure swaps are worse now. And on top of that they raised the price. I'm paying for a figure I can't see and premium prices that will most likely have botched paint. Also, its been confirmed the windowless packaging is done for Hasbro gettong tax breaks if they say its "environmentally friendly". Them saying the price increases are cause of the new packaging is a straight up lie. Thank god I moved to wrestling figures and DC multiverse
My problem with Marvel Legends is I simply don't feel like I'm getting my money's worth compared to what I can get for a few bucks more or even less elsewhere. There were a LOT of good releases last year, Amazing Fantasy Spidey is one of the best and feels worth the price, but most of them don't. I'm sticking to characters I need or sales
I hope they re-realease modern versions of the pre-mcu figures. It would be cool for another Thomas Jane Punisher with modern sculpt/articulation and i would also like the Ray Stevenson War Zone version also
Marvel Legends are all but done for me. Spider-Man and Venom characters are the only thing keeping me tethered to this line. Even re-releasing that Spider-Man PS4/PS5 figure is such a joke. That figure needs a complete result with costume texturing. They did Miles justice with his figure, but that PS4 Spidey is lazy. I am okay with repaints of the comic figures, but if the source material has a textured suit... make it a textured suit.
Yea its gonna look horrible side by side to Miles bc how comic and cartoony this new Ps5 SM figure looks... the black webbing and everything else is painted on instead of sculpted or something which doesn't give it that real feeling and also he is way to buff, I mean you can see every muscle on this mold! He isnt that buff and his suit isn't that tight in the game especially to the point where you can see every muscle in the human male body
@@patientmental875 at the beginning yeah, with the infected and death metal stuff, but now with the awesome Blackest night wave and some decent megafigs along some other almost perfect releases like Rebirth Deathstroke or parallax. The quality is improving.

Honestly after that puff adder wave (just because so many looks and characters I’ve asked for a long time. Ie, wonder man, orb, etc) I am pretty much done. I’ll probably pick up one or two here and there but mostly got what I want from legends.
The advanced suit is not a reissue it's not based on the advanced suit from the first game but from the second one. The belt is different, the pattern on the arms too.
I stopped collecting marvel legends along time ago when I picked up my red ranger figure and discovered it have lots of QC and paint issue. It doesn't help the situation when Hasbro CEO and board of director decided to fixed the problem by windowless packaging, this is a deal break for me. "I don't buy what I can't see." Its sad because these higher management have master degree in business. "How do you know if that spiderman figure not gonna have two right arms or two left leg or missing a head, arms, legs, or torso?" the increase in price only make it worst because now you not only got an low quality figure but also very expensive 1 too lol
For the Playstation spidey what do you mean by reissue because it's not the same as the first one that came out this new on is on the renew your vows body so it's really not a reissue
Honestly, I think the PS5 Spider-man, new Captain America, Wolverine in the yellow and blue tiger tripe suit and Emma Frost will be my last Marvel Legends to get added to the collection - if they release Tobey and Andrew as independent releases then I'll grab those too. Regarding the character of the Punisher and us getting any more figures of him in the future, I just hope he has the original skull emblem - whether or not there's gun accessories, I don't fully care as I have plenty that I can remove from other figures but it'd be nice to atleast have some sci-fi style guns that act as a place holder. I'm a sucker for more grounded characters like Frank Castle and Black Widow so I'd like a high quality true to comics figure (give me a Welcome Back Frank Punisher fig and I'll be happy) of each of those guys but I doubt that'll be the case for a while...
Just a heads up: the new upcoming “reissue” of PS4 Spider-Man isn’t a reissue. It’s the actual figure for Spider-Man 2. Idk if you noticed or not, but it’s on a whole new body and has different accessories and a head sculpt

We haven’t even got anything from more figures from NWH along with other mcu marvel legends from movies and tv shows from 2021 to 2022. Like if some characters had different costumes or showed up from spoilers but we already knew we’re gonna be in it

I just wait for sales. Got war machine for $10, Baron Zemo for $15, and picked up the 80th hulk two pack for retail - with a slight discount for gamestop membership.
I really wish Hasbro would increase the quality of their toys & price them more fairly. Back in October 2022, I got my amazing fantasy Spider-Man marvel legends for $30. For $30 I got 2 thwipp hands, 2 wall crawling hands, 2 web gripping hands, 2 fisted hands, 2 small web wings, 2 spread out web wings & a web. I was really impressed. But now with the Marvel's Spider-Man 2 Gamerverse Spider-Man figure, you only get 2 fisted hands, 1 twhipp hand, 1 wall crawling hand & reused webs from years ago. Zero sculpted details, inaccurate paint job, reused body mold that doesn't fit the body type from the game, no Peter Parker head & no even pairs of hands. And the worst part is that they expect people to pay $34.99 for the bare minimum. Yep, charging more for less. I personally won't be supporting that business move. I would recommend people do the same if they want to see Hasbro get the idea that this scheme can't go on any longer.
I started collecting Marvel legends in 2017 i have over 250 of them now , i collect only the mcu figures the comic ones are just the same figures with new painting , and also i started collecting hot toys.... man what a huge difference
While I myself love the Newer Renew your Vows and Amazing Fantasy Spidey I am not cool w/ the MASSIVE reuse of the Legends Bucky / Cap Body over and over and over and over again . I understand the re use to save money and use it for other figures but it's getting crazy being there is barely any new molds or articulation being used and again more of the same making this whole thing normal for Marvel Legends. Mcfarlane is already doing this and we are only in year 03 now so I really don't want it to happen w/ anything Batman which is my all time fav and the bulk of my collection . I'm not a completionist so I shouldnt be seeing this happen more when I don't buy everything . The worst thing is this seems to becoming the standard for other companies and I really hate seeing it happen when we all just hand out our $ for something we love . I def think that M.L's are great for getting your fav's but def not if you collect them all . Especially like you said when we are having to pay more for less w/ the multi packs . Since October of last year, there almost hasn’t been a single reveals from Marvel Legends I’ve been excited for (maybe extremis iron man). Not only are the prices getting out of hand, but I think I just don’t need anymore legends on the shelf at this point. Time will tell how much more I commit to the line but I’ve been focusing on characters from imports I actually need.
I have been canceling marvel legend pre orders left and right. Alotve the figures go on sale for less than half of their MSRP. Spinerette had weblines on her palms in the comics and they couldn't be bothered to include that. Even those the wasp figure from years ago had a similar palm detail.
I got into Marvel Legends with the retro 2099 figure back in late 2021. Like yourself, I'm more interested in variants of Spidey and thankfully have most of the ones I want, with the two I'm most after being the Ben and Kaine Scarlet Spiders. Part of me hopes they'll do reissues of them soon ( refuse to pay £100+ for each of them), but outside of that, unless there is some unforeseen variant like Tokusatsu Spider-Man last year or they decide to make (as an example) Spider-Man Unlimited due to him apparently featuring in the new SpiderVerse film (I really hope so) it'll be more of a case by case/"Do I like this suit and do I need it?" basis.
I'm actually bought the last three Spideys Amazing Fantasy, Renew your Vows and Animated Series, so I have all what I want for my own multiverse, but I can't deny that I like the head sculpt of the new spiderman 2.
Other than Blob coming up, I have been done with legends for almost a year now. If they release any other BAFs I might grab them on Ebay if it's a necessary character. Makes sense collecting marvel is exhausting and a waste of time. Look at what they did with the MCU. Quantity over quality.
I'm going to be slimming down on the marvel legends on buying in this year. I'm gonna mainly stick to 90s x men and classic spiderman and classic Avengers that's it
Actually the Play station Spidey is not just a re-release it uses the renew your vows body mold with an accurate brand new head sculpt and the last one used the sunflower body mold and came with the Spider-Man UK head sculpt still the new one is too expensive Edit: also it's not from the first game it's from Spider-Man 2 but I really thought that they were gonna make a new body mold for it
I am a Marvel Legends collector for life because I love them. I'll buy figures from companies like MAFEX if I find them but In terms of collecting It will always be Marvel Legends because I've never had a single problem finding them and I've always been able to save up money for them and when I've bought one no matter what character it is it's always been high quality.
For me it’s the constant price hikes for figures that have little to no accessories and reused molds. The new Spider-Man game figure is $35 not including taxes and shipping. Probably $40 after that for a standard figure with underwhelming accessories. All legends are on clearance at my local GameStop and they stopped getting legends in because they don’t sell. They’re literally all on the clearance rack. It should tell Hasbro something is wrong but now they’re saying they’re going to double profits. Yeah. Right.
I’m only gonna be picking up a couple this year. Hawkeye, mark 1 Ironman, maybe the destroyer, and the doom and captain marvel two pack. But even that might be still to much
I quit collecting Marvel Legends last year, and I can confidently say that I don't regret it. I might buy a few occasionally, but nothing released in the 2nd half of 2022 got me excited so I think I made the right choice. instead I focused on other lines, especially Marvel or Diamond Select, their last releases are really good The Vision, Beta Ray Bill. Another things is the plastic free packaging accompanied by the increasing number of QC issues, figure swaps even from official retail stores.
I much rather them using the same body mold than what DC Direct did where Robin figure was taller than Batman in the same wave even Not good I'm more worried about the accessories being added to the figures and or stands
I see there's a lot of spider man fans here, so this might sound like blasphemy. There is too much spiderman in a short period of time; it's Stale, in my opinion. It's like they're remastering the mmpr, which most of us just complete the regular issues. So are you excited for it, or do you just wanna get it because you know it'll sell out?
I still love Marvel Legends and with X-Men releases coming I HAVE to get them. But with the price increases, I have skipped 2 waves last year and have become more selective with the non BAF waves. The days of being a completionist are gone for me for the most part. The price hikes definitely make the import drops in price more attractive so HASBRO might be doing their competitors a huge favor here in a quest for more of our $$$.
Im very lucky that i only collect movie figures, so i can buy mafex and sh figuarts and have a definitive mcu version of most characters. Marvel legends mcu figures are also really good figures with one off unique sculpts. When it comes to comic marvel legends, i really feel sorry for you collectors. Its just reuse after reuse, repaint after repaint. Sadly, hasbro think its acceptable to charge extortionate prices for figures we had 8 years ago like ghost rider, and terrax etc. The sadest part is ive watched a few 2022 top 10 marvel legends videos and some of the lists people come up with have 5 or 6 repaints in. There comes a point where you cant blame hasbro anymore. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.
My plan is to get the best comic versions of the Avengers and X-men and that might be it. Black Series is still kicking out good figures like the Bad Batch Cad Bane and they’ve got other figures that are coming out. Mcfarlane is still making good Dc figs like the Deathstroke and Arkham Knight Red Hood. Transformers legacy looks like they’re making comic figures so that’s another line. And I got my first Action Force figure, I want more of them. It feels like Legends is falling behind. Hopefully they pick up the pace. I started collecting with Legends and it would be a shame to leave it the way it is now.
Alright, the Marvel legends insomniac spider man to figure I can get, some people don't like the lack of details, where you lose me is when we introduce the spider verse 2 , what is wrong with them being stylized? The method's into the spider versus miles Morales was stylized and nobody hated that figure, so why is this any different with Marvel legends?
Where i live marvel legends are nonexistent and the only ones on amazon are bad old figures that no one bought. And the ones i was lucky enough to get were all ruined because of bad quality and paint defects.
Im still sad that my Marvel legends 2099 Spidey arrived broken. And I was never able to find a replacement. But also that figure overall was a little dissapointing. Maybe the Across the Spiderverse 2099 Spidey will be better

Wow, I was finally looking foward to seeing Across the Spider Verse this year and a rant like this happened already just because of Marvel Legends?? Sheesh, starting to wonder if they are "real" Marvel fans now that I've seen Raimi fans putting their foots down already about the animated film that I'm wanting to go see ._. Now I'm glad I didn't grew up with the Marvel movies... since I've only grown up with the comics and the cartoons back in the 90's and 2000's, I even bet most Marvel fans would have a problem with me growing up with those 2 years they hated lol.
I’d honestly just prefer they stop making figures out of rubbery materials if they are using the same bodies, the arms on the newer spidey bodies feel like they will snap and with how hot it is where I live the legs are starting to warp
With the amount of reused sculpts, shoddy paint jobs & the outrageous pricing, Hasbro has been getting super greedy! they need to rethink their business model. Tbh McFarlane would do marvel justice if they took over, and that's saying a lot.
I will continue collecting till I have all the characters I see as a must have for my display and might pick up one or two other figures here and there, like if they rerelease the no way home trio

I collect mostly Spider-Man’s also but haven’t bought a lengends once since armored spider retro . This past year I’ve been leaning twards Sh figuarts and mafex. The quality on them are just soooo much better but cost an arm n a leg 😅
Legends should be the standard figure where it supposed to be affordable because they arnt putting any effort in them anyways, growing up they were just cheep toys and hopefully they can still be like that

Agreed. If they're going to reuse over and over and over then they need to spend the money and get it right first time. Even my favourite of 2022 (the 2 pack Spiderman) has some pretty big issues that could be easily sorted. Also accessories, they have the molds and they keep cheaping out on us haha
Nah. It's the prices. Reuse is fine if it makes sense. In spiderman's case it makes sense. This guy seems to have no clue about what he's talking about.
@user-ks4lt2yx6y I'm not sure who you're referring to, but the retro carded spider man has really wonky proportions, and the Diaphragm and abcrunch combo really doesn't work, the range of the torso is worse than the regular bodies, and the dumbell joint is way too far down the neck. the renew your vows' body molds may be slightly better with it's sculpt, but still, the articulation needs simple but major improvements. and the drop-down hips need to go they're a pain in the butt to deal with, I should know I have that figure, and GI Joe Classified (their articulation is much better tho)

Also the ab crunch thing is probably just your figure. My 2099 figure has an awful ab crunch but it's not like that on other figures with the same mold.

My problem are the new boxes where I can't see what I'm buying. This wouldn't be a problem if their paint/quality control was on point, but sadly that's not the case. Being able to actually see the figure before purchasing was crucial.
its the CEO and board of director at Hasbro making all the calls, instead of addressing the issue "We sorry about QC and and try to fix it". They simply ignored the problem, instead used windowless packaging to hide the QC problems. I am sorry, but I can't support a company like this. As a buyer this is a deal breaker for me.

For me, I’m excited for the NWH stuff. However, I am very annoyed that I have to wait till the end of the year. Till then I’m finishing my predator lost tribe from neca and picking up a few Indiana jones figures.
That is NOT a reissue of the PS4 figure. That is a completely new figure. The head and deco are completely original and match the upgraded suit for the PS5 Spider-Man 2 game. You can tell by the waist and of course the head. It’s an entirely different body to as opposed to the original release. Superior figure.

That is not the ps4 advance suits it’s from the Spider-Man 2 trailer. Looking at the renders I think that it is a new sculpt but we won’t be getting any interchangeable hands.
I'm 50/50. Personally I think it's silly people complain about body sculpt. There's only so many ways you can design the muscular form, ask any actual artist, that's why we're taught anatomy and movement first because we're all working with the same form here. And it makes perfect sense from a business perspective. I just think people expect way too much in that regard. If they give Wolverine a couple extra LBs we'd be hearing how Hasbro botched him. I can't be mad that they make the smart choice and cut out redesigning what already works.
But where I do agree is MSRP. It's getting ridiculous. ML exists as the fine median between kids toys and imports and when ML start becoming just as expensive as imports... that's a problem. I've always been preferred imports and that hasn't changed but I still grab the occasional ML and I'm usually really pleased. But that price...woof. Also their schedule is...bad. 2 years out to get NWH figures? Stealth releases? It's just a mess. I also HATE their selections. I know some die hards love these obscure characters, but holy heck it's annoying how we still lack so many MCU leads and major comic characters, but here's this one guy from a 1986 issue of X-Men no one remembers....I just don't get the selection process at this point.
Nah. Look at that female buck…that can’t be improved or changed? If every female character had that shape, then ok, but they don’t. They’re not all that skinny. And the articulation on that female bucks is really lacking. Just a tiny bit of swivel at the torso and nothing at the waist.
Fun video sir. Just FYI though reuse of bucks has been the norm since the beginning of Hasbro. They used the standard “Bucky Cap” body for most males (other than Spidey) and now have transitioned to the Vulcan body with standard butterfly articulation and Pinless joints. The reuse is how they pump out so many figures each year. Enjoyed the video 👍
Bucks have been the norm since like the 70s or 80s where most figures were the same mold but repainted but I don’t know if you would call those bucks it’s really to make these more kid appealed (I’m not saying there for kids) toys cheaper so your not paying import prices on a figure you can just find at target

With all of the reusing, rehashing, the fact that Hasbro forgets to actually finish off certain teams, and the fact that the dc multiverse line is starting to get stronger, I'd say that they definitely need to up their game this year

Not worth it, pretty much at all lol. Price increase, less paint, more QC, charging more for box sets, lackluster accessories, same body mold over and over, skimping on articulation, pinned figures when pin-less exists etc. I used to collect about every wave now I’ve only grabbed like 5-15 figures this past year and have not completed a single build a figure.
The only ones I pre-ordered are the Astonishing X-Men figs from the Ch'od wave. Because I've been wanting updated versions of those looks. Also,that's like the only Marvel run that I LOVE aside from every She-Hulk run that is. So yeah.

I really hate the new boxes to be honest, especially since people have been swapping the figures for people to buy without knowing until it’s too late. One of the many joys when I collected Marvel Legends is actually seeing what I’m getting. That’s why I still somewhat appreciate the retro line, even if some of them aren’t the best. However, I am still gonna pick up the reissue of PS4 Spider-Man, since he actually looks really good in my opinion.
This is why I moved on from Marvel Legends to McFarlane DC Multiverse.
dc multiverse isnt any better at all. they have even worse figures than marvel legends
McFarlane is leagues better than legends. I mostly do McFarlane and NECA now.
Some of Hasbro's tactics and practices are really irking me but at the same time, I can't really say that I will ever be done from collecting marvel legends. They release a lot of obscure figures that I know will never get made by other brands such as mafex and mezco. In my eyes, they provide more quantity than quality but hey, I only collect 1/12 scale marvel figures so I can feasibly buy all their figures along with mafex and mezco ones but I know a lot of other people aren't like that so I understand when others say that they're quitting ML altogether.

Valaverse, Mattel MOTU Origins, and Masterverse, Mcfarlane toys mafex, SH F, Super7, ALL REUSE PARTS. There is not a toy company or industry that does not reuse parts. Why is this such a hard concept for people to get. If you don’t like marvel legends then don’t buy it. But please don’t pretend that Hasbro is the only company that reuses parts, because that’s complete bullshit.
What other companies are reusing a body mold made 11 years ago? The bucky cap mold is still being used now. Its way more than reuse at this point, its straight lazy cash grabbing. Hasbro are in a totally different league when it comes to reuse, its undeniable. Please pull your tongue outta hasbros ass and realize this.
I'm only waiting for a specific figure from the Spiderman/Deadpool Comicbooks besides that no interest in most of the new figures, Knull was a Holy Grail and I hope to get at least a few more symbiotes in the next years
Heads up sorry for the long post, TLDR at end. I started collecting legends 10 years ago and up until recently was always an advocate of Hasbro and loved the line dearly. It connected my interest of comics, my childhood and an amazing community of friends all into one. Had you have asked me two years ago if I ever thought I would feel the way I feel about legends now I would have thought you were crazy but Hasbro has made it hard to feel positive about the direction of the line. From 2016-2021 I was a completist and had also tracked town most of the other toybiz and hasbros figures I had missed out in prior. By 2021 I had over 1,200 legends in my collection and started running out of room in my collection room.
Around the time of realizing this space issue I had started tracking down a lot of the Mafex X-men and I fell in love with the quality and amount of stuff you got, around that time prices were only increased on legends once though so it didn’t feel like a rip off yet but then two other increases happened, windowless packaging, less accessories, a ton of reuse, worsening QC, and just an oblivious disregard of the fanbase in general made it hard to defend Hasbro and justify purchases when one figures was damn near half the price of a mafex. With all of that combined it zapped my passion for being a completist so I took a hard look at my collection to realize at the 19.99 price mark I had picked up so much that didn’t mean much to me and in the last 6 months have sold over 500 legends from my collection. Last year I purchased 32 legends as opposed to my normal 120-150 and this year I would say I might purchase even less. I love the X-men figures coming out, they have always been my main focus but as far as 90% of the other stuff im just not buying anymore.
Ever since they did the windowless packaging BS I stopped. QC issues have been worse than ever with paint and damage. Even figure swaps are worse now. And on top of that they raised the price. I'm paying for a figure I can't see and premium prices that will most likely have botched paint. Also, its been confirmed the windowless packaging is done for Hasbro gettong tax breaks if they say its "environmentally friendly". Them saying the price increases are cause of the new packaging is a straight up lie. Thank god I moved to wrestling figures and DC multiverse
My problem with Marvel Legends is I simply don't feel like I'm getting my money's worth compared to what I can get for a few bucks more or even less elsewhere. There were a LOT of good releases last year, Amazing Fantasy Spidey is one of the best and feels worth the price, but most of them don't.

Marvel Legends are all but done for me. Spider-Man and Venom characters are the only thing keeping me tethered to this line.
Even re-releasing that Spider-Man PS4/PS5 figure is such a joke. That figure needs a complete result with costume texturing. They did Miles justice with his figure, but that PS4 Spidey is lazy.
I am okay with repaints of the comic figures, but if the source material has a textured suit... make it a textured suit.

Yea its gonna look horrible side by side to Miles bc how comic and cartoony this new Ps5 SM figure looks... the black webbing and everything else is painted on instead of sculpted or something which doesn't give it that real feeling and also he is way to buff, I mean you can see every muscle on this mold! He isnt that buff and his suit isn't that tight in the game especially to the point where you can see every muscle in the human male body

I stopped collecting marvel legends along time ago when I picked up my red ranger figure and discovered it have lots of QC and paint issue. It doesn't help the situation when Hasbro CEO and board of director decided to fixed the problem by windowless packaging, this is a deal break for me. "I don't buy what I can't see." Its sad because these higher management have master degree in business. "How do you know if that spiderman figure not gonna have two right arms or two left leg or missing a head, arms, legs, or torso?" the increase in price only make it worst because now you not only got an low quality figure but also very expensive 1 too lol
For the Playstation spidey what do you mean by reissue because it's not the same as the first one that came out this new on is on the renew your vows body so it's really not a reissue
Honestly, I think the PS5 Spider-man, new Captain America, Wolverine in the yellow and blue tiger tripe suit and Emma Frost will be my last Marvel Legends to get added to the collection - if they release Tobey and Andrew as independent releases then I'll grab those too.
Regarding the character of the Punisher and us getting any more figures of him in the future, I just hope he has the original skull emblem - whether or not there's gun accessories, I don't fully care as I have plenty that I can remove from other figures but it'd be nice to atleast have some sci-fi style guns that act as a place holder. I'm a sucker for more grounded characters like Frank Castle and Black Widow so I'd like a high quality true to comics figure (give me a Welcome Back Frank Punisher fig and I'll be happy) of each of those guys but I doubt that'll be the case for a while...
Just a heads up: the new upcoming “reissue” of PS4 Spider-Man isn’t a reissue. It’s the actual figure for Spider-Man 2. Idk if you noticed or not, but it’s on a whole new body and has different accessories and a head sculpt

I really wish Hasbro would increase the quality of their toys & price them more fairly. Back in October 2022, I got my amazing fantasy Spider-Man marvel legends for $30. For $30 I got 2 thwipp hands, 2 wall crawling hands, 2 web gripping hands, 2 fisted hands, 2 small web wings, 2 spread out web wings & a web. I was really impressed. But now with the Marvel's Spider-Man 2 Gamerverse Spider-Man figure, you only get 2 fisted hands, 1 twhipp hand, 1 wall crawling hand & reused webs from years ago. Zero sculpted details, inaccurate paint job, reused body mold that doesn't fit the body type from the game, no Peter Parker head & no even pairs of hands. And the worst part is that they expect people to pay $34.99 for the bare minimum. Yep, charging more for less. I personally won't be supporting that business move. I would recommend people do the same if they want to see Hasbro get the idea that this scheme can't go on any longer.

While I myself love the Newer Renew your Vows and Amazing Fantasy Spidey I am not cool w/ the MASSIVE reuse of the Legends Bucky / Cap Body over and over and over and over again . I understand the re use to save money and use it for other figures but it's getting crazy being there is barely any new molds or articulation being used and again more of the same making this whole thing normal for Marvel Legends. Mcfarlane is already doing this and we are only in year 03 now so I really don't want it to happen w/ anything Batman which is my all time fav and the bulk of my collection . I'm not a completionist so I shouldnt be seeing this happen more when I don't buy everything .
The worst thing is this seems to becoming the standard for other companies and I really hate seeing it happen when we all just hand out our $ for something we love .

Since October of last year, there almost hasn’t been a single reveals from Marvel Legends I’ve been excited for (maybe extremis iron man). Not only are the prices getting out of hand, but I think I just don’t need anymore legends on the shelf at this point. Time will tell how much more I commit to the line but I’ve been focusing on characters from imports I actually need.
I have been canceling marvel legend pre orders left and right. Alotve the figures go on sale for less than half of their MSRP. Spinerette had weblines on her palms in the comics and they couldn't be bothered to include that. Even those the wasp figure from years ago had a similar palm detail.

I got into Marvel Legends with the retro 2099 figure back in late 2021. Like yourself, I'm more interested in variants of Spidey and thankfully have most of the ones I want, with the two I'm most after being the Ben and Kaine Scarlet Spiders. Part of me hopes they'll do reissues of them soon ( refuse to pay £100+ for each of them), but outside of that, unless there is some unforeseen variant like Tokusatsu Spider-Man last year or they decide to make (as an example) Spider-Man Unlimited due to him apparently featuring in the new SpiderVerse film (I really hope so) it'll be more of a case by case/"Do I like this suit and do I need it?" basis.
I'm actually bought the last three Spideys Amazing Fantasy, Renew your Vows and Animated Series, so I have all what I want for my own multiverse, but I can't deny that I like the head sculpt of the new spiderman 2.
Other than Blob coming up, I have been done with legends for almost a year now. If they release any other BAFs I might grab them on Ebay if it's a necessary character.

Actually the Play station Spidey is not just a re-release it uses the renew your vows body mold with an accurate brand new head sculpt and the last one used the sunflower body mold and came with the Spider-Man UK head sculpt still the new one is too expensive

I am a Marvel Legends collector for life because I love them. I'll buy figures from companies like MAFEX if I find them but In terms of collecting It will always be Marvel Legends because I've never had a single problem finding them and I've always been able to save up money for them and when I've bought one no matter what character it is it's always been high quality.
For me it’s the constant price hikes for figures that have little to no accessories and reused molds. The new Spider-Man game figure is $35 not including taxes and shipping. Probably $40 after that for a standard figure with underwhelming accessories. All legends are on clearance at my local GameStop and they stopped getting legends in because they don’t sell. They’re literally all on the clearance rack. It should tell Hasbro something is wrong but now they’re saying they’re going to double profits. Yeah. Right.
I’m only gonna be picking up a couple this year. Hawkeye, mark 1 Ironman, maybe the destroyer, and the doom and captain marvel two pack. But even that might be still to much

I quit collecting Marvel Legends last year, and I can confidently say that I don't regret it. I might buy a few occasionally, but nothing released in the 2nd half of 2022 got me excited so I think I made the right choice. instead I focused on other lines, especially Marvel or Diamond Select, their last releases are really good The Vision, Beta Ray Bill.
Another things is the plastic free packaging accompanied by the increasing number of QC issues, figure swaps even from official retail stores.
I much rather them using the same body mold than what DC Direct did where Robin figure was taller than Batman in the same wave even

I still love Marvel Legends and with X-Men releases coming I HAVE to get them. But with the price increases, I have skipped 2 waves last year and have become more selective with the non BAF waves. The days of being a completionist are gone for me for the most part. The price hikes definitely make the import drops in price more attractive so HASBRO might be doing their competitors a huge favor here in a quest for more of our $$$.

Im very lucky that i only collect movie figures, so i can buy mafex and sh figuarts and have a definitive mcu version of most characters. Marvel legends mcu figures are also really good figures with one off unique sculpts. When it comes to comic marvel legends, i really feel sorry for you collectors. Its just reuse after reuse, repaint after repaint. Sadly, hasbro think its acceptable to charge extortionate prices for figures we had 8 years ago like ghost rider, and terrax etc. The sadest part is ive watched a few 2022 top 10 marvel legends videos and some of the lists people come up with have 5 or 6 repaints in. There comes a point where you cant blame hasbro anymore. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.
My plan is to get the best comic versions of the Avengers and X-men and that might be it. Black Series is still kicking out good figures like the Bad Batch Cad Bane and they’ve got other figures that are coming out. Mcfarlane is still making good Dc figs like the Deathstroke and Arkham Knight Red Hood. Transformers legacy looks like they’re making comic figures so that’s another line. And I got my first Action Force figure, I want more of them. It feels like Legends is falling behind. Hopefully they pick up the pace. I started collecting with Legends and it would be a shame to leave it the way it is now.
Alright, the Marvel legends insomniac spider man to figure I can get, some people don't like the lack of details, where you lose me is when we introduce the spider verse 2 , what is wrong with them being stylized? The method's into the spider versus miles Morales was stylized and nobody hated that figure, so why is this any different with Marvel legends?
Where i live marvel legends are nonexistent and the only ones on amazon are bad old figures that no one bought. And the ones i was lucky enough to get were all ruined because of bad quality and paint defects.
Fear of missing out keeps me coming back. Better to buy retail than pay double a year later.
Im still sad that my Marvel legends 2099 Spidey arrived broken. And I was never able to find a replacement. But also that figure overall was a little dissapointing. Maybe the Across the Spiderverse 2099 Spidey will be better
yeah me too.. pretty bored, and I can't fit them anymore in my room.. currently selling almost all of my marvel legends, just keeping the Xmen Jim Lee.. thinking to just collecting the retro box, because I'm a MOCer
Wow, I was finally looking foward to seeing Across the Spider Verse this year and a rant like this happened already just because of Marvel Legends??
Sheesh, starting to wonder if they are "real" Marvel fans now that I've seen Raimi fans putting their foots down already about the animated film that I'm wanting to go see ._.
Now I'm glad I didn't grew up with the Marvel movies... since I've only grown up with the comics and the cartoons back in the 90's and 2000's, I even bet most Marvel fans would have a problem with me growing up with those 2 years they hated lol.
never cared for marvel legends. I rather spend a bit more and buy Mafex or other lines. I vote with my wallet lol

I’d honestly just prefer they stop making figures out of rubbery materials if they are using the same bodies, the arms on the newer spidey bodies feel like they will snap and with how hot it is where I live the legs are starting to warp
With the amount of reused sculpts, shoddy paint jobs & the outrageous pricing, Hasbro has been getting super greedy! they need to rethink their business model. Tbh McFarlane would do marvel justice if they took over, and that's saying a lot.
I will continue collecting till I have all the characters I see as a must have for my display and might pick up one or two other figures here and there, like if they rerelease the no way home trio
🤔I feel like marvel legends needs to step up their game and learn from toy biz. The sculpt on the old toy biz figures were amazing then maybe I will understand the price increase but don’t hike up the price with repaints and no accessories or extra heads/hands..
Yeah I am pretty much out at this point. Ain’t worth it anymore; way too expensive and not worth the cost in terms of detail, accessories, etc.
The new Spider-Man game figure IS the suit from Spider-Man 2 bro..

I collect mostly Spider-Man’s also but haven’t bought a lengends once since armored spider retro . This past year I’ve been leaning twards Sh figuarts and mafex. The quality on them are just soooo much better but cost an arm n a leg 😅
Legends should be the standard figure where it supposed to be affordable because they arnt putting any effort in them anyways, growing up they were just cheep toys and hopefully they can still be like that

This is why mcfarlane is winning, more plastic for 20$ and he's actually listening to his fan base and putting out different characters
Mcfarlane toys definitely have superior paint and mold apps but the articulation and poseability is EXTREMELY lackluster.
I’m still gonna buy Hasbro Marvel legends and I will most likely get the no way home 3 pack for Toby and Andrew. 😁
