      Seriously man... I wish I was financially able to go to LA ... I would give all respect to one of the biggest heroes in the Metallic Hall of Fame: Ronnie has written the soundtrack to so many great and bitter moments in my life.... I would really like to say: Thank you. Other than that, I'm happy enough to have shaken his hand twice: Rainbow '76, The Sabbs a little later, and a conversation with him on the Holy Diver tour. I'm sure, he realized that I adore him.

    I had the privilege of seeing Dio live on three occasions. Once when he was frontman for Sabbath, again early on in his solo career. Again, maybe 5 years before he passed. His presence on stage was that of a 7 ft Giant! I’ve never seen a performer that could hold and captivate a crowd like Ronnie James! Keep rocking the Dio, brother! 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼

  • @DanJackson1977
    @DanJackson1977 4 ปีที่แล้ว +40

    Dio had more stage presence in his hands than most singers so in their whole bodies. So much so he single-handely made the "metal horns" gesture a thing... which weren't horns really.. it's called the "maliok" (Malocchio) the "evil eye" when it's pointed at someone it's a curse... sort of an old superstition his oldschool Italian grandmother had. When the fingers are pointed upward, guards against the evil eye.. which is was the sign he was doing to the crowd.. and it took off ... becoming known as "the metal horns". Ronnie wasn't as athletic as Bruce Dickinson.. he wasn't running around the stage and jumping off platforms or doing David Lee Roth spin kicks.. but his gestures, expressions and stances really helped sell the story, emotion, and straight up power of his songs. That and he had "the voice".. immense power, depths of soul.. and complete control over every note.

I tried watching other channels lately but everybody wants to pause every damn 10 seconds. So I watch your Channel all the time and I'm glad you don't do that. A lot of these channels don't realize the proper way how to do this. The fact that most people watch reaction videos because they already know and love the song and just want to hear it and watch their favorite TH-camrs react to it. You set up the song and the artist, you listen to it in its entirety, and then when it's over you comment critique or whatever else you want to chit-chat about. That's why I like TNT

    I ordered this VHS in the 90's. I wore it out! This music is so great. I love DIO so much. To see you jammin' on this, Tee is just rad. And you're right, when ya sing w/ yer hands, you're good.

    I was in the first row center, and it was crazy. Craig Goldy was spectacular. We were trippin so when the flames would fire off you instantly sweated. The first leg of the tour was opened by Queensryche, Rage For Order. Then after eu tour they came back and did the filming only Accept was the opening band. When it was over the 1st 20 rows of seats was flattened to the ground.

    Top 3 best rock/metal vocalist ever, plus such stage presence for a 5'4 guy, his voice I'd define as powerful and melodic at the same time
    Btw, great musicians in the band, Craig Goldie excelled in the guitar solo, Vinnie and Jimmi on top form in the rythm section and Claude putting nice touches on the keyboards, I love Dio

    FUN FACT : Ronnie James Dio Padanova was singing in DooWop style 4 piece groups back in the era 1958-1964

    Dio rocks. On your own time, you should look up interviews with him, specially when he talks about his Grandmother. He was a pioneer and i am glad i listened to him during my teenage years.
    Edited to add this cause I forgot
    Thanks Dan for that suggestion

    Please react to stand up and shout by dio live in 1984. The only problem with it is that Dio forgot the first verse so he sang the second verse twice but it's a super energetic preformance. And if you want to hear dio when he was really young react to An angel is missing by ronnie dio and the redcaps (the song was made 3 years before the Beatles first album came out just to give you an idea of how long dio was in the music industry)

    Ronnie is a God, an S-tier monster, the final opponent for any singer, doubtlessly! But the whole line-up is increddibly brilliant on this one. Turn a great Heavy Metal track into an thrashy Epic Metal hymn.

    Nice- I agree, Halford and Dio are the stage show leaders! Rainbow in the Dark,, Last in Line, Holy Divers- Dio must! Please check out Starz- Hearing Aid, Dio put it together with the big metal stars of 80s. Dio was my first heavy metal concert when I was 14. Please check out the Sinner Live Vengeance 82, shows off Halford.

    Dio doesn't mean what he says in the first verse of the song. It's meant to represent your negative inner voice that's keeping you down. It's the 'evil song you sing inside your brain'.

    no maiden fans should be offended. Bruce cited Ronnie as an inspiration. Theyre two diff acts. But dio physically was a minimalist n more vocal. Bruce id say was reg vocal best he could but more physical for w.e reason .
    Dio is the true King.
