- In this edition, I assemble the steering box that belongs on a 1914 Chevrolet! Along the way I use my Dumore Grinder, and Lathe in order to make the new thrust bearings I bought fit!
Your videos are so good in that you go through all the details of your repairs. Great camera placement and zoom in. Need to show this to Wayne.
Glad you enjoyed it! Tell Wayne I said hi!
Thanks Steve, I always enjoy your videos on the old cars. I have two Model A Ford vehicles, and I can see the similarities between them.
Thanks for sharing! It seems like your either a Ford Guy or a Chevy Guy, but not both, wouldn't you agree?
Yes, Model A Ford most of my life. I have nothing against Chevy (modern), vehicles. Antique Chevys are rare.
Hello Steven. Nice shop. Just wanted to mention, to maybe save you time in the future.... A bearing race for sure is very hard, but I have bored them with a short carbide bar in the lathe before. Carbide is harder than bearing steel, and it will cut it. TP grinder is great, don't get me wrong. Just suggesting another way that might be easier. Best regards. --Doozer
Thanks so much for your comment! I agree with what say, I was just adding the TP grinder to spice it up a little bit!
