also another that is a bit more complex, is an easy way to get an early high tier named thrall, Lian. you can start the game go get some tools from the sorcerer cave and hope for a sickle, then head straight east go to the eastern barracks and the purple lotus in the pond behind it, then on east and south to the black lotus and harvest those, along the way just before the purple lotus there is foals on the island at K5/6 so you can get a stable up and a horse if you want while your there to harvest the black lotus, but once your finished with 1 or both there head back to sepelmeru other end of the map, toss down a furnace for some iron bars for a wheel of pain, knock out any 2 thralls in sepelmeru to finish the thrall taker journey, a fighter and a crafter, then you can make purple lotus potions, once you have a few, 3 or 4 maybe some extras in case you miss, you can run up to Lian's watch run past everyone and into the tower behind where Lian stands, quickly climb the wall and to the top of the tower, he will reset and just stand at the bottom, you can then throw purple lotus potions at him until he goes down, should take 3 or 4, once he is down, drop down and quickly bind him and run out till you loose agro, make sure to bring the materials from your first wheel by sepelmeru and place a wheel outside the camp once you have lost agro from any of the other villagers that follow. by the time he is trained another will have respawned, or if you have multiple wheels and are on single player just get far enough away and you can repeat the process.

another spot for the beastial memory potions, top of the stairs on the north side of the temple when entering from the dagons embrace side, by the bay and dock at Xel Ha above the witch queen dungeon, most of the time it has at least 1 there and only occasionally i dont find one there.

ive not tried it on the pillars so dont know if you can build there, but if you can you may not need the points in grit, instead just drop a foundation or 2 on the side of the rock spire to give a stopping point that you can climb to, maybe even 2 on each spire, i know the spot but only recently found out about the ghost and chest and the tool chance.
