You'll be sitting up front in this fully interactive video with Captain Joe, First Officer Dean, and videographer Swayne. North Eleuthera Island has never seen an airplane this big, so this empty flight gave our ground crews the chance to work with the new E-175 for the first time before revenue passenger service.
STUDENT PILOTS + FLIGHT INSTRUCTORS... This is your chance to experience the workflow that pilots face when running checklists, navigating through stormy weather, departing from busy airspace, and landing at a non-towered airport.
Flying into the North Eleuthera Island Airport (MYEH) in the Bahamas looks a lot different than pretty much every airport back in the USA. We operate fully VFR in/out of MYEH, since there's no air traffic control or radar coverage. Plus, its single runway is only 6,000 feet long with no visual approach guidance from a PAPI or VASI. It's the perfect spot to refine your visual and hand-flying skills. The terminal has just one room, an outdoor boarding lounge, and no jetbridges. Being one of the most stunning Caribbean Islands, North Eleuthera is also very busy. You have to pay close attention to the uncontrolled CTAF (airport traffic) frequency to keep tabs on the location of multiple general aviation, airline, and charter flights into the airport.
This flight was filmed under Part 91 with permission from Envoy Air, Inc. during a zero-passenger check flight to the North Eleuthera Airport.

360 was sweet. Nice to be able to watch the crew working together like that. I would fly with them any day.
They should have something like this to give to new hires in training. To see all major phases of flight. Learn how the callouts will actually be. Prior to the sims. Boring for TH-cam but going from dark and cold to flight would be great too.
That's the idea! Trying to make this a really good resource for new pilots
I watched it on an iPad then on an oculus quest. The VR was really amazing. Could even read the screens well. More like this!
As someone who just went through initial training, I would say that would’ve been so helpful. Great content as usual Swayne! Maybe I can get my airline onboard with uploading content like this.

Probably the best 360 airplane video I have seen. Most have problems with the cockpit exposure vs the blue sky - where the sky is blown out white with overexposure. You always have clean professional looking entertaining videos.

Except for the constant engine noises. You really think it's a calm chill job? You have no idea. Not even flight simulator is relaxing if you take it seriously enough 😂
@@k.r.99 Lol i wrote this comment 1 year ago but im still gonna reply. If you look carefully you can notice they hv sort of headphone on their ear. Otherwise they wont be able to concentrate and handle the loud noises of the engines like you said :) I was talking abt the view they hv when i said its chill ofc its stressful job.

Having been a regular visitor to north Eleuthera for 45 plus years it’s pretty cool to see the largest jet yet fly in.
I remember the days when I think turboprops and very small jets were allowed (4500 ft back then). Now I wonder how soon before an airbus 320 will land at elh ? They’d have to lengthen rny and widen it as well. Due to the on going local “crown land “ disputes it will take some time. Of course the terminal building and facilities need some serious work and renovation as well.

Great footage Swayne. One thing that's quite clear from that view is that there's no curvature. It's flat and level.

I just wanted to say thank you for this perspective. I know you went through some dumb stuff and jumped through hoop after hoop to make this happen. and we enjoyed every second of it. I am not even a flight sim guy.
Honestly that made me even more excited to start flight training in March when I'm out of the military. Glad I stumbled upon your videos, you've given quite a different perspective on all this.

Im a student pilot with only 44,2 total flying hours, at the current stage, take offs and landings are really exciting, all of them, specially cuz I fly a taildragger!

As a pilot with almost 2,000 hrs, everything starts too become routine. New planes bring excitement, along with different takeoff/land situations. One major benefit to aviation, is that you can never stop learning.

Seeing things from the pilot’s perspective is much less scaring than seeing things as a passenger… I’m always anxious to fly despite knowing it’s safe so this relieves a bit of anxiety!
Working through anxiety while flying, this may come in handy for some VR exposure therapy.

If you are able to get more of these spectacular videos, It would be great if you could include the flight plan for the not so fortunate flight simmers to fly along with you. Some of us missed are calling and can only live in the shadows of the real heroes of the sky.

One question: the earth is it flat and unmoving? Or is it a sphere spinning at 1,038 MPH? If it is a sphere how do you follow the curvature if you are flying at a a level plane?
