About the more abnormal fears, it's just actual phobias that exist, some being as dumb as the fear of a random duck somewhere in the world staring at you
7:30 Unfortunately I do have a genuine fear of vomiting. It’s predominantly triggered from hearing and watching other real life people doing it (absolutely no issue with it being animated or in written text, particularly when it’s super unrealistic/cartoony) and a majority of the panic attacks I’ve suffered from have been because I’ve been exposed to someone vomiting or on the verge of it. Whenever I plan to watch a new show or movie I always have to thoroughly check for vomit warnings beforehand, because the last time I didn’t bother to check (watching District 9, phenomenal movie btw I highly recommend it) I got caught off guard and ended up having to rewatch it later because the sheer amount of panic I felt was causing heart palpitations :( I do wish it was a fear that was treated a little more seriously by others 😔 If you can accept why people fear disease, you should have the same acceptance for emetophobia imo since they’re very adjacent phobias
I also have a severe fear of vomiting! I will actively leave a room/building if I even so much think someone is vomiting. I can't see it, hear it, smell it. I refuse to use a bathroom that has recently been vomited in (recent being as much as a full day or 2). I haven't thrown up in over 13 years by sheer will, I just do everything in my power to not do it. It really is my biggest fear, all my fears of illness stem back to it.
I vaguely remember watching this show and going "He just like me fr" because I had a couple of phobias growing up. Turns out I just have an anxiety disorder. Also, I'm definitely voting Mung for president.
As someone with obscuraphobia, i just fear shit that I can't see, places not in my vision, such as deep oceans, corners, that I can't see around, random noises
i was thinking! Pretty much everyone has the fear of the unknown, so I don't see why people who have that fear taken to the next level are seen as crazy
No clue if it counts, but whenever I'm in the dark, it's less of the dark itself, it's the fact I can't see anything. I start feeling like I'm literally being smothered by a pillow, or like water is filling my lungs.
Nah even if you and I think its stupid we still gotta show some respect to those who are genuinely scared of them. A joke or two is fine but to say its unreal to have that phobia is just wack man
Yeah, the categories seem kind of arbitrary (a fear of meteors WHEN THERE'S A GIANT METEOR COMING TOWARDS YOU is rather rational, and aging is Category 1, but old people is Category 3???), and the complete dismissal of some phobias is almost ableist. The entire point of phobias is that they're irrational, so it's not fair to hold some phobias in higher regard to others, especially while admitting some Category 1 fears are irrational.
@@megarigged as an autistic person i was raising a brow at the bath one. showering is so hard for me because it is pure sensory overload, i could definitely see how a child (particularly one on the spectrum) would fear that
YESSSS i loved this show it was so good another obscure show that i dont see much people talk abt is Oggy and the Cockroaches, it was kinda like a ripoff tom and jerry but i remember liking it lmao
I loved this show so much and this is such a fun video, but I do wanna point out tho that a large part of having a phobia is the irrationality that comes with it. The very definition of a phobia is that the reaction is dramatically out of proportion to the real life danger. It's kinda insensitive to say that these phobias aren't real things people experience just because they don't make sense to you.
I agree phobias are irrational, but isn’t others reaction to how out of place the reaction is the point.if it was rational they wouldn’t be a phobia in the first place Also some phobias can always be criticized if the response is to abnormal or damaging, I don’t see people giving there hearts out to individuals who have homophobia
This! This is important to keep in mind Phobias aren't just mild fears, they are a psychological phenomena that causes people to have irrational fears outside of their control To fight phobias people need therapy, so simply "growing up" or "toughing it out" isn't an option
@@metalmaple-fluffyhoney54 this I agree, accepting these phobias also involves actually acknowledging, understanding and helping others who suffer from them
@@Qdrake I'm trying to say that they ARE irrational. The irrational fear response is what makes a phobia a phobia, but to get through that fear people need therapy and understanding to help mitigate or remove that fear and any abnormal or damaging affects it might have on someone's life. Bringing homophobia into this is kinda presenting a straw man argument, it has nothing to do with this. If someone had a genuine fear response the same as someone who had a spider or clown phobia but in regards to LGBTQIA+ people, they would also be in need of understanding and therapy because it's a FEAR. However I think you're talking about homophobia in the hate sense, which isn't a genuine fear response but bigotry. That's a completely different issue.
@@Peaxhiiteehee but aren’t both still by definition irrational reaction, the point still stands because if you aren’t willing to have the patience to deal with irrational anger or hate, how can you expect others to have the same patience for fear or disgust. The principle remains the same as both show that responding to those who show either symptoms should be treated with seriousness and be properly addressed, but if you can’t be patient to help bigots, how can you expect others to be patient towards others that you feel sympathy towards.
I wonder, since you're doing obscure shows, can you do Qumi Qumi? It's an obscure show that I'd watched when I was younger. I first saw the show while looking through the angry birds toon tv section on the original Angry Birds game.
First of all I forgot this show even existed, second of all I’m actually unironically scared of baths due to extreme body dysmorphia and sensory issues and I know multiple others who are the same and I thought it would be higher up to be honest same with vomiting
I gotta say, some of the fears that "no one would have" some poeple would actually have fears of vomiting, fears of body odor(like not someone else with body oder but being the person with body odor because you may be insecure about it so you may be scared that you smell bad), fear of mosquitoes(malaria), fear of a desk job is totally reasonable. I dont want to grow up to sit at a desk for 8 hours looking at a computer. I already do that enough at school. there is probably more but im lazy. Other than that, good video
You have unlocked so many core childhood memories for me 💀 I remember hating this show, It made me very uncomfortable (I do have to say that most fears/phobias are irrational, they’re called irrational fears for a reason)

Can you do a Russian cartoon called "Shaman's Quest", also called Riddles of the Shaman/Загадки шамана in Russian? The main character is an eskimo named Took, who lives with his wife, his baby, and his pet dog Baka in the snow desert. Each episode marks his own journeys to his life in the snow desert. The character designs are cute but the soundtrack is epic and wild, especially the theme song to it.
I have the phobia of vomiting and yes it is irrational fear, it's not just "oh what a nuisance, I don't want to do that", I would do anything to avoid vomiting. Phobias are not rational fears, there is even a phobia of water. They often arise from traumas experienced during some phase of life, or even for other reasons.
Oh my god, i remember watching the episode where he takes his skin off and it lives as a separate being and then it tries to replace him or something, that episode haunted me to this day. 2:20 seeing it now its way less scary in this clip.

MUNG!! I watched this as a kid! I was also one of your first 500 and was subscribed pre-Larva era, so it ROCKS to see you as such a big creator! Keep it up.
Im waiting for you to uncover this one show from Disney. Im not sure if anyone remembered this show but It popped out when i was in kindergarten (2006-2008?), I dont remember what’s it called but i remembered it being something related with cats and felines. So technically the show is a 3d animation about cats, you can say It’s a comedic show similar like oscar oasis or Bernard bear. Other than that, I remembered it being the type of show that was split into three (?) different story lines. One of them is about a cat owner (we cant see their face, just their legs i think) has a brown (?) adult house cat and later on adopts a kitten (beige colour?). The kitten looks cute however his looks does not match his behavior, he always mess with the adult cat by making his life miserable or by purposefully making some trouble so that the cat owner kicks him out. I remembered the kitten always make a mocking sound whenever he do these things, “miew miew miew miew!”, specifically. The second story line is a blur but i think i remembered its about three kittens vs another adult cat (or the same, i dont remember) and just like the first one they are also troublesome and make that mocking catchphrase, “miew miew miew miew!”. I think a pet goldfish is also a main character in this story. Im not really sure if the kitten are strays who mocks the adult cat or it’s the other way around. Now, This last storyline is what peaked my interest to keep watching the show whenever it’s on. I remembered its about a cat and dog in a road trip trailer with their human family for a vacation, the trailer was moving somewhere in the desert. I remembered they were doing typical dog hate cat situation where they were chasing each other in the trailer, then at one point they accidentally fell out of the trailer leaving themselves behind in the desert. I remembered this one made me sad just because when they realized they were out of the trailer, they worked together to find their way back to their human family. I remembered feeling sad because im not sure if they actually found their way home tbh.
