I would rely less on vidIQ and other such tools and more on your gut. At the end if the day we tune in because we enjoy Jen’s personality and identify with her travel experiences.
Remember how many creators there are and how many videos get offered up. Time is your best friend right now. Be consistent and persevere.

You never know what drives the peaks and valleys exactly - it depends on who is watching, what’s happening in their lives along with the ominous algorithm. It will all balance out in the end. You’re doing great!!
I’ve always believed that the lessons we learn from what we think are failures are the best. Also no video is a failure. They are all helpful if only for comparison.
I want to see you succeed. Don't sweat it. Short of some weird viral thing, you won't see instant numbers. Success comes with time and effort. You'll need a depth of uploads and so on. You're on track just know your recipe may differ form the big names.

I feel for you while watching this video. I try so hard, but it is hard as a single, homeschooling Mum to find the hours. But I do, staying up all hours. And every video, I do learn something new about the whole TH-cam process. I started learning with 'shorts' - lots of them. And branched out to videos, I have about 20 now. They don't do that well. This week I got 6 subs. Usually I get 1 or 2 a fortnight, if that. I wish my weekly subs were more like yours. But I'II keep trying. I've been working my way through your Playlist. My goal is Monetization by March 2025, that is when my channel will be 1 year old. Thank you for keeping me motivated.

I might be missing something but there are no links again - love your journey and you speak in the videos of sharing links but I cant find them. It could be me not knowing where to look yet but I always thought they were in the description below. I hope you havn't taken them off for Patreon so people have to pay. It was following your journey that really inspired me to have a go too. When I first watched I found the links but stupidly didn't write them down - all the very best in your channel. You are an inspiration to us all - that's worth everything to give hope to our Gen X generation xx

I have been on TH-cam for 14 yrs or so & post here & there and it never occurred to me to try to grow my channel. I wished I did 14 yrs ago😁.

Please don't get discouraged. It could have been any number of things that caused the lack of full video watches last week. One statistic I don't think you have relayed to us is the demographic of your viewers. I assume most of your viewers are like me, an older solo woman interested in travel.

I just started uploading videos in mid-February and right now have 94 subscribers. Your journey is VERY inspiring to me, so I have subscribed. Question: How many of your subscribers come from your TH-cam monetization journey as opposed to your travel content? I’m curious because I might do a series just like yours!☺️👍🏽

A possible way to get more views would be to do #DavinciResolveLearning or #learningfilmeditingafter50, maybe...I do know hashtags can help.
That particular video might do better when it is sightseeing season/weather

hi Jen, I saw you mention Davinci Resolve, and I went to look for it but when I go to download it gives me 4 different pieces of software to choose from. I'm not sure which to use!? can you make a suggestion?
The free one? It's been a while since I downloaded it. Just don't choose the one you pay for...that's unnecessary!

You need to give the people what they want! Viewers will watch videos of what THEY are interested in. Please stop worrying about shaky videos, Mr. Beast or anything else. You are spending too much time on everything else but what the audience WANTS to see. Once you find out what they WANT to see then you can "fix" your videos.😎

Honey, I didn't see the Edinburgh castle video, nor do I really want to. I want to hear from you; I want to hear your solutions, hacks for living well alone, and your philosophy on life. IMO, you are much more interesting than Edinburgh Castle. And mind you, I love history and seeing places in other countries. I can always Google the castle, but there is only one place I can find you. Please keep doing what you have been doing.
