I'm wondering if you've played any Awaken Realms or Mindclash Games, as you seem to be into the heavier games.... Etherfields, Nemesis (and Nemesis Lockdown), and Perseverance are some of my all time favourites...
Thanks :), I hear ya there’s not enough time to play all the games anyways lol one good thing about chip theory games is their games are almost always in stock on their store. Awaken Realms is probably my favourite publisher at the moment, Ive played almost all their games, so far tainted grail is my favourite. As for mindclash I backed Voidfall by them but haven’t played any of their games I’ll be sure to add perseverance to my wish list thanks :).

Just got ATO this week, have just set up the tutorial scenario! How many players do you think are optimal? Given the complexity I'm almost considering just playing it solo knowing my gaming group... ;) Maybe two player.
Nice, I hope you enjoy it! I have a similar gaming group issue and have only played it solo lol but I think the adventure phase and voyage phase work best as a solo game, the battle phase can definitely be overwhelming solo especially while learning the game but it works and is still a lot of fun if you’re willing to put the effort in. I think the battles would work best at 2 players or 4 if you had the right group. No matter the player count it’s a fantastic game though!
@@fatherofgames9239 They are quite similar, same designer. Though I'd say the differences are big enough you can enjoy both. Heat has more in the base box though, but flamme has a few expansions that offers similar experiences as a whole.
Hey thanks so much, I’m planning to do a top 10 most anticipated this weekend and a top 10 solo games soon as well. As for all time favourites I was planning to do a top 50 or 100 at the end of this year as there’s a bunch of games I want to play this year first. I can tell you my all time favourite is currently war of the ring though :).

I haven't played Blood Rage so I thought it might still be good for me since it would be something fresh. I'm mainly looking for a game in similar price range in fantasy setting. Best for 2 players - maybe a dungeon crawler, maybe something similar to Ankh, I'm really not sure. If you have any recommendations, I would be happy to hear about them - if not, I'll be looking forward to check out the videos you just announced!
@@kurohonhon blood rage is fantastic but if you’re looking for a game for 2 players exclusively then I wouldn’t recommend it for that. While I liked Ankh a lot less it’s the best of the trilogy at 2 players. I personally think rising sun is the best of that trilogy but it’s for 3p minimum. As far as other good 2 player fantasy games, dwellings of Eldervale is good and around that price range, or Vagrantsong, if you haven’t played Dune Imperium though I would recommend that one first for 2 players or any player count.

Unfortunately, it's not available in my country at the moment so maybe I'll try Dune as you recommended. Thanks again for taking the time to respond. Haha shadow of intent and Lorna shore are my favourites, followed close behind by Brand of Sacrifice , so good! to be honest I haven’t listened to a ton of songs by Currents but I do really enjoy better days by them, I’ll have to check out more of their songs!
@@fatherofgames9239 Shadow of Intent and Currents have the same guitarist! Brand of Sacrifice is great. Saw them live recently, incredible. I’m a big Paleface Swiss fan as well

It definitely can be grindy I agree, and a lot of the enemies can feel similar, but there was a lot of great parts about this game too. Definitely not the greatest dungeon crawler out there but a lot of fun anyways.
It needed more boss fights, less nodes. We got to a point where it didn't feel like adding any extra abilities would serve any benefit about 1/3 of the way through the campaign. Also, treasure cards were rarely worth replacing item slots about 4 or 5 chapters in. I liked the combat mechanics, there just needed to be a bit more variety to the game to add a challenge.

@@kylemoore7746 I definitely agree with you on that for sure it definitely didn’t feel very challenging and there should have been more boss fights.
