My elementary school had those same horns on continuous -- and I remember thinking the same thing during fire drills as a kid. Each one sounded "different" .... some higher pitched than others. Haha!
@@Gentex_Commander_2 u def have a point there. My middle school used to have a mix of Standard 4-350's behind Standard light plates and Standard 30A's. That system was on Continuous and sounded pretty ominous and VERY loud, especially the 30A's
I have kind of a soft spot for those Federal "soldiers" cuz those are the type I had in my elementary school (which at the time was a brand new building). Always thought those things on continuous sounded like a basketball horn. It's like "is the building on fire or is the period over???" :)
The Crotched Mountain Rehabilitation Center school cafeteria has (or had) the "stereotypical basketball horns" installed on Simplex 2903-9101 strobes (they're the 2901-9806, often known as '9806) with a Simplex 2001 FACP without a march time module and thus was in continuous. A '9806 outside my first classroom there!
Those were the same type of horns an apartment building I lived in as a kid had but they were in continuous and no strobe. Very loud and pretty much impossible to sleep through.
Reminds me of an old TH-cam video where there were similar horns going off in fast march time in the background. Sadly, I think the video got taken down recently (before this comment was made).
This system is outstanding. I do wish that this system was a notifier system set on continuous. Also. Can the EST gensis do continuous. I mostly see them on code 3. Love all ur videos
Zachary Fleck: ok. And question... is it rare to see SpectrAlert advances in continuous. The Therapeutic campus i go to for Trainning For a potential job, they have a New contract with System Sensor and they finished this building in 2016. This Child protective services agency(name can't be given out due to Illinois child protective laws), originally had a contract with Simplex, and simplex offered them ADA compliant strobe plates and strobes, They gave us options, The panel they offered was a Simplex 4100ES, and they even let us choose the devices, they offered the Truealert series, and they Was going to go for the last offer, but they involved the 4903/4901 series. Originally, from what i was told, they were going to install the Simplex 4903-9217 horn devices, but the building managers Said they did not want Electromechincal horns again as they had problems with them in the old campus and they had older 2903/2901/9002 devices, which were coded on March time and the horns died out(yeah... the old campus was 110 years old). So, they gained a contract with System Sensor, and the new campus has All System Sensor P2R(2nd generation) horns with HID card readers equipped with active intruder protection. The panel was a Notifier NFS-320 panel. Signal code is Continuous with 15 cd strobes, is this rare. Cuz i felt like it was when i first heard them. I also forgot to mention... the pull stations are Notifier BG12(The Honeywell version-New pulls)
Question. Does Simplex still Make the 4903/4901 series devices. I had saw a new building with Simplex 4903-9217(of course.. i live in Chicago and we house SimplexGrinnell in Addison IL. So we are Known for Mostly All Simplex devices here:) answers will be greatly accepted
I also live in Illinois and most of the schools I’ve been are TrueAlerts Horn/Strobes. All I’ve know is they do fix any 4903 devices but I don’t think they make them anymore.
Hmm... I just noticed the VALS at 2:15 has ceiling-mount decals... And, at 4:12, noticed somebody didn't know how to spell "fourth"... Oh, the things you discover when re-watching a good video.
Zachary Fleck It’s rare because it’s not a stock option. Customer has to request a red can, otherwise they come in standard white or beige. The 4002, 4004, and 4005 all had a red cabinet option but it is less commonly seen because it had to be requested by the customer specifically rather than the red can being offered as a stock option.
Me to my middle school and high school need mechanical horns badly zns are not loud same with wheelock as a 9838 with 4903 9102s would be better than those and have them on march time. I wished up to date code was March time not code 3
Pair these Electro-Mechanical Horn-Strobes with Older Edwards 270 Pull stations then you’ve got my dream system that i wish is in my school and high school :3
I'm not overly familiar with the 4005, but see if this helps you out: www.thealarmtech.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1772 (disclaimer, I'm not affiliated with this site.)
03:55 To 04:31 The Simplex 4002 panel buzzer in March Time sounds like the Simplex 2901-9838 with 2903-9001 light plate in March Time from this video: th-cam.com/video/VkCDbZMfLxE/w-d-xo.html Also another thing too is that the panel in both videos (In this video and in the link are Simplex 4002 panels which is a coincidence)
i like thes horns better than most alarms now these days good old mechanical horns sound good and if i heard one near by i would say whoes playing with A DUCK because the sound of it
I love how no electro-mechanical horns sound exactly the same; it's like each one has it's own personality :D
My elementary school had those same horns on continuous -- and I remember thinking the same thing during fire drills as a kid. Each one sounded "different" .... some higher pitched than others. Haha!
Ken Nicholas lol
It sounds more fun (if that makes sense) when each horn has its own personality
lol true and no alarm sounds the same
They could sound all the same, just a matter of how tight the device is to the wall
Well, then. First-generation RMS T-Bars, VALS horn/strobes, all on a 4002. Excellent catch.
Super cool system! I don’t think the older stuff sounds right on temporal, just March time or continuous. And I think that 100% applies here.
Yes they do
Man, those must be the really rare RSG T-Bars! Wow
Also sweet video! It probably isn't too often you see those Federal Signal vibratone horns. Cool
1:21 my favorite pitch for the 450d
Yeah that Eb tone is awesome. (YES I KNOW THIS COMMENT IS DONKEYS OLD)
Awesome video! March time always sounds amazing with older devices.
firefreak57 Agreed!

Same and continuous and mechanical horns to me means fire
Awesome video 😁 I absolutely adore these older systems to me they are the best 😍
Great video 😀👍👍
Hard to find system and pulls, nowadays. Love the old Simplex panel and old Federal Signal Soldiers still going!

The ones around the 1:38 mark sound like they're either farting or taking a dump lol
Wow - I bet that red 4002 looks great when it's all still put together!
3:05 OMFG THAT LITERALLY SOUNDS LIKE A FUCKING GUITAR CHORD/RIFT THAT SOUNDS SOO PERFECT!
2:58 *[Happy Mechanical Horn Noises]*
One of the best systems I have ever heard
Cool! The alarms sound beautiful!
Not only is the 4002 freaking red but its also got a rediculously low-pitched buzzer!
*_BEST. MECHANICAL. HORNS. EVER. PERIOD.
3:00 Damn! That one has a very high pitch! 😳
Rock on in this March Time Anthem with Zach and the Old Horns!
Oh yeah Zach!
Love the sound
That is how the two 2DCDs at my high school sounded. Loud and excruciating.
That's what a simplex system should sound like
The 4002 panel appears to have replaced a previous fire alarm panel that the Federal Signal horns and RSG pulls were installed with.
That sounds cool on March time
Wow! That’s a very cool and old system!
Cool!!! Nice to see those old dinosaurs working!!
This system must have been a good way to start off summer for you a year ago :D
Reminds me of an old TH-cam video where there were similar horns going off in fast march time in the background. Sadly, I think the video got taken down recently (before this comment was made).
are you talking about twoplyboy?
This system is outstanding. I do wish that this system was a notifier system set on continuous. Also. Can the EST gensis do continuous. I mostly see them on code 3. Love all ur videos
Remove the cover. You will see a circle labeled J1 (I think). Use a blade to cut it out and it should, with any luck, sound in continuous.

Zachary Fleck There's a jumper on the inside of the unit that you have to break off for it to do continuous
CJ9899 well now with the new kidde ones we dont have to cut of anymore jumpers or mod our alarms 😉
@@armaniwilliams5752 Bro My old elementary school in Chicago had the Advances on Continuous.

I never seen a red 4002 before is that a rare color for it

Ok now I get it:)
i want a 4002 in real life so bad
That horn at 3:30 sounds just like how i imagine every healthy 9806 would sound like
Dylan1 FA productions They’re 450D NOT 2901-9806.
Wish my school had electro mechanical horn strobes 😢
My school has an an old simplex system from 1986 on continuous, with mostly simplex 2901-9838s/ 4903-9101 hornstrobes
Me to my middle school and high school need mechanical horns badly zns are not loud same with wheelock as a 9838 with 4903 9102s would be better than those and have them on march time. I wished up to date code was March time not code 3
I think my elementary school has a 4002
fire alarm freak97 That’s cool!
Or a 4001
Also my school has 9838s all on continues
I think my elementary school had a 4002 or 2001 because the March time is like 100 or 110 bpm
Pair these Electro-Mechanical Horn-Strobes with Older Edwards 270 Pull stations then you’ve got my dream system that i wish is in my school and high school :3
My tech schools main building has that exact setup minus the simplex system.
sean juth Nice
Cool System and I like the federal single horns i want one so bad
Try checking eBay!
Second time watching this, and I just noticed that the RMS you pulled was branded for Hochiki. Do you remember if they were all branded Hochiki?
this is an awesome video
Why was the two horns have a loose screw? That was a raspy sounding one
My dads work is full of these vibratione horns and BG-6s with a fire lite miniscan and an MS 4
This looks very similar to a place SAFETECH inspected
Zachary Fleck it's not the same place, I don't think, it just looks kinda similar.
Link: th-cam.com/video/uTBQF4kjt-g/w-d-xo.html
Turns out I was just remembering the horns, the place looks completely different. My mistake
great alarms
Are these alarms rare? I don't know much. I do know however, my school has several of these with the same strobe type and they sound LOUD.
do you know how to reset a over the tally limit on a Symplex 4005?
Thx

Is that a 4002 pannel?
Fundamental paper education school fire alarm be like: -3:17
Zachery fleck you make me jealous how many fire alarms i only have only 5
I have 3. You're doing better than I am.
I have 2ca 4903 9101 and 9840 if that counts
Have you bought any fire alarm devices? Because I’m expecting a New Devices June/July 2018 video.
that fwr sounds dope
0:44 sounds like a 9838
these things sound mildly disturbing
2:15 the most common pitch
federal signal 450d's aren't as rare as you think
that would scare me lol
1:41 sounds sick....
And federal signal
Are these alarms rare?
Yes
I love the fake tbars
The horns between 1:30-1:45 sound like if fire alarms were able to smoke a pack a day for 20 years.
Can you allow us to talk? ( I joined!!!!)
Zachary Fleck I found it out never mind. Sorry
Simplex 4002
those horns look like 9806s with strobes
i like thes horns better than most alarms now these days good old mechanical horns sound good and if i heard one near by i would say whoes playing with A DUCK because the sound of it
1:36 sounds like a fart
Just jamin
sounds like semi alarm
1:34 horn sounds broken
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Sounds like a car alarm and one of the horns needs fixed
C-C-C-C-Code Violation!
Screw vintage horns! Get electric horns!
Dammit mechanical horns sound nicer tho
That is not A code violation!
Actually one of the horns has a ceiling mount vals mounted on the wall at 2:15
If only electronic horns could sound like the mechanical horns
