WINTER STEELHEAD BOBBER DOWN CHALLENGE - (Bait Only!)

A friendly competition float fishing for winter steelhead! With both of us running the same bait, a hand tied spawn bag, fish eggs tied into netting. It was a challenge of who could hook the most fish in the day. One of us came out on top while the other struggled to get bites. This is common when bobber fishing steelhead and highlights the importance and technicality of float fishing, showing that two people can use the same bait but subtle differences can make or break the day. I’ve witnessed countless times when one person will seriously outfish the other person using the same bait out of the same jar, one guy usually always has the hot stick. It can be because of different factors, or nothing at all. I’ve been on both sides of the situation.

It’s the same way fishing steelhead with my son… fishing the same holes… I catch 1… he hooks 10… pisses me off… lol… I’m the one that taught him how to fish the rivers too…🤷‍♂️🙂🤣
