I can't explain how I've waited for a video like this. Thank you. Will be a permanent fixture in my chess playlist. This will be a huge request as well, but if you can make a video series of Jesus de Villa's '100 endgames you must know', I will love you forever.

      Hey man, that's on chessable!
I only have one chessable course and it's the exact same one by john bartholomew, worth it imo!

Watched about 15 Minuten so far. I'd say this is among your best videos. It's the high quality and precision I'm here for, but since there is a serious lack of endgame material on youtube it feels even more informative than your other content. More endgame stuff please!

This is a treasure of a lesson. I think practicing these positions will add 100-200 elo for intermediate players. Please continue the same with Queen endgames, and minor piece and pawn endgames.

Hi, is it possible for you to do a video on the Ruy Lopez(again), but this time with more detail and the such?

Thanks, Stepjan! If I fail to improve or learn this material, it won't be because it wasn't well and wisely presented.

It would have a little bit better if you illustrated last position till the very end to make sure all viewers understand the all techniques to hold the position..... Like if we wait with rook on 2nd rank white is going to push the e pawn anyway then how we can defend??

The Lucena position specifically refers to a scenario where the pawn is on the b-file (b7) or g-file (g7) only. In the b7-pawn case, for example, the "bridge building" rook lift is necessary because the Black Rook covers the a-file, preventing the White King from escaping on that side of the pawn.
The position you described can be won without lifting the rook to the fourth rank -- the crucial point of building the bridge, e.g.: 1. Rf1+ Kg6 2. Rd1! and the Black can't prevent the White King from getting out of the way of the pawn. One can still use the bridge building technique here, but it takes longer and isn't necessary except in the actual Lucena position.
