If you guys did not already know it was a Hillsong tune, you would be saying "WHAT A FABULOUS SONG!!!" It is good. It is biblically solid. It is full of honor to God. It is true that Hillsong has fallen off the rails. Do you have ANY idea how many so called "solid" historical hymns were written by unitarians, universalists, arminians (those who divide salvation between God and man) and others. Look. If the ROCKS are going to cry out, I will certainly let Hillsong. Besides that, most of Hillsong's congregants are -I believe- good and regenerate people being taken in by bad leaders. Careful, or you will wind up being a church of one, with no one else pure enough to get in. We know how that has always worked out in the past.

Dorm meeting has grown so much since my day there almost 20 years ago. We used to have dorm meetings in Carver hall (I believe if memory serves me correct in the names…lol).
We only had a few hundred students during my time there…some of the greatest times of my life were on that campus. I pray that students who are there, not loose focus on Christ…our faith is so much more than an intellectual exercise. Always remember it is all about Christ, and proclaiming Him amongst the nations of the world! ❤️

I could also add from a personal view many of the songs Hillsong do not have much depth..but many are very meaningful and rich in theology e.g. the crowd. The most important word is discernment.

I notice some discussion of whether songs that are very biblically correct should be used or not because of the association with a particular church group. IF we take that view songs by the Wesley etc would be ditched..we are all marred by the fall. Many of the greats of hymn writing were not perfect. To take that attitude of seperation is what Jesus condemned the most.

everytime a hillsong song is performed, the church is required to pay hillsong (most churches do not follow the requirement). so by using the music of a demonic church, you are not just singing the songs of a false church, but paying them to do it.

I went on to sarcastically make a Hillsong comment since Dr. Mohler regularly rails on them on The Briefing, but someone beat me to it...yet their comment was serious. SMH
It sounds terrific! Keep up the good work!!! Oh praise the name of the Lord our God! ❤️

Really enjoyed the norton hall band a couple years back. Haven't checked the channel for a while and I was first excited to see a new dorm band video. I have to say that I'm very disappointed to see that the new band is singing Hillsong songs. This song is okay, but most of Hillsong songs are human centered. I assumed students from southern Baptist understand that by default. I mean, why do you even touch their stuff? There are plenty of solid Christ centered Gospel centered traditional hymns for you to remake with contemporary instruments. The reason I liked your old band in the first place is that the next generation still understands focusing on God instead of self is true worship. Again, this song by itself is okay, but given the track record of Hillsong, I personally would prefer not to associate any type of corporate worship with them.
