He and his fellow Democrats ( Both of them ) BROKE THE HOUSE RULES AND EACH OF THEM KNEW THAT THEY SHOULD NOT DO IT OR THERE MAY BE NEGATIVE CONSEQUENCES FOR THEIR ACTIONS. Wanting to bring more attention to themselves is precisely why they did what they did. If they want to end school shootings / killings taking weapons away from law abiding citizens IS NOT the answer. Those who performed these senseless killings are almost all MENTALLY ILL and /or IN NEED OF PSYCHOLOGICAL HELP. If not with a gun then with a knife or a baseball bat or a car or a bomb - but - they need to be evaluated better while at school and heard by their classmates with an ear toward abnormal behavior if displayed. Have the school counselors be trained to pick up on " tells " for unusual or dangerous behavior and have them make records of those children as well as try to help them that bad behavior to acceptable behavior. Change the access points to only ONE and have armed security at each school. Having some staff members who are armed and able to take out any threats to the children at that school if needed. Have local police readily available IMMEDIATELY in case of any emergencies and also have them do routine drive bys at a minimum. GUNS DON'T SHOOT THEMSELVES. Get to work on legislation that will create safety barriers at schools - churches - bars and any other places where people are now " open targets " of the mentally unstable.
