Great work. Nice palette cleanser from your Epic minis.

Thanks! It’s hard as I don’t want to split my audience between 40k and epic 40k content. But if I can film something I will. But for now it’s back to epic content. Cheers!

Way late to this, but my boy is getting into 40k as Imperial Guard, and I've loved the Genestealer Cult since I got Space Hulk when I was a nipper in the early 90's. I'm interested in making a Combat Patrol for myself and your painting here is not only a joy to behold, but has given me more than few ideas to get me going in a very amateurish direction! Let's hope that my old and crap mark one eyeballs are up to the task!
    Cheers, B

I just stumbled across these videos, great work Vince I really like this one! You have the patience of a saint haha 😂 & the eyesight of a hawk, I cannot see that small unless magnified 😅

Thank you Stevie. I do use magnifying glasses for some of the really tiny bits ;)

That turned out super! The only thing that irks me is that the tufts don't look like they are part of the environment. They are just kinda floating on top of the ground.
I find using a tiny bit of super glue helps them stick better and dabbing on a bit of wash or pigments that you have for the base onto the tuft gives it that little push into the environment it's in.

Great advice thank you! Sadly I’m doing the bare minimum as the client wants me to match some previous models from a commission. But I totally agree. If they were my own models I would do way more basing wise. You can see from my other videos the work I can put into basing. Cheers!

I will be painted Epic (6mm Scale) Nids real soon. Not full scale I know. But they will follow the same principles as the full scale versions :)

    what tools do you use?

    • @BUNKER6
      @BUNKER6  ปีที่แล้ว

I have a lot of tools.
      Go to things would be,
      Silicon sculpting tools
Hand Drill and a ton of bits
      Small modeling files
A good set of sharp tweezers
      Exacto Knife (scalpel)
A selection of fine grit sand paper
Nail buff pads for polishing plastic
Regular metal sculpting tools to manipulate green stuff putty.
      Cocktail sticks
      White tack
      Paper clips
These are the things I seem to have in hand most often.

Ah so in the video you were using a cocktail stick and white tack to hold the model? That looked really handy! Your brush also looks much nicer to use than mine, or perhaps its your steady hands.

Cocktail sticks combined with the gel type super glue is a potent combination. Much more controlled results.
In terms of brushes I like the Davinci brushes. Size 1 and 0. Many thanks.
