  • A company whose principal activities consist of exploration for mineral, oil or gas may not progress to the next stage of development or to a stage where it is able to generate revenue. Other industry specific risks must also be considered.
"Reducing Mining Risks using Project Evaluation Studies" (12 June 2014)
As part of our on-going investor education programme for the MOG sector, we are pleased to have John Bishop, Director of CSA Global Indonesia and Singapore, to conduct a seminar on reducing risks in mining via project evaluation studies. CSA Global is a Resource Industry Consultancy which has provided technical and management advice to clients in the international mining industry for 30 years (www.csaglobal.com).
Through this seminar, you will gain an appreciation of evaluation studies by understanding (i) the staged approach, (ii) ballpark costs required, (iii) time needed, (iv) increasing sophistication of such studies and (v) the need for a well-managed team of experts. Such studies allow investors to understand what Mineral or Coal companies have and whether the companies' resources have the potential to be mined economically. Hence, by understanding evaluation studies, investors would be able to appreciate a Mineral company's risk profile more effectively.
With this in mind, this seminar will touch on the overview of various evaluation studies which are used to de-risk mining projects and you can gain insights on the essential technical methodology used to asses mine development projects.
