What’s the most important feature you look for in a wax or sealant? Is it the water behaviour, gloss, slickness, durability or ease of application? Let me know in the comments!
    Thanks for watching!

Durability and water behaviour are my main priorities when choosing wax or sealant. Ive been an avid user of autoglym for over 30 years but more recently been using some tirtle wax hybrid solutions products and car chem off the back of your reviews. Keep up the good work, still the only detailing channel worth watching for me 👌😊

I used it and it’s seems to be about a solid 3 months of good beading on my daily driver stored outside in the spring /summer. I did recently take a trip in the mountains a little over 500+ miles and normally my cars front end is absolutely plaster with bugs. But this time I got back and it was almost perfectly clean. I was shocked.I normally wax my car fairly often so I can’t comment on the extreme durability claims as I will have waxed my car again before 6-12 months.

  • @Psstnbooly
    @Psstnbooly 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

Hi, I didn’t get anywhere near 12months with this, but certainly 3-4months. I found it a bit hard in the tub but it goes on well even when you don’t think much is on the applicator. I didn’t do full decon like you did but went with real life application. It looks good and I like it but I’ll stick to spray on shinee wax instead. Good work keep it up.

  • @audieconrad8995

For my personal ride: shine and tactile feel are priorities for the look of the flat red paint on my GTI. Durability is somewhat important but I don't mind reapplications. I have found that this wax hits all 3 points for me. The shine and finish are fantastic. Durability for my needs is solid at a good 3 months-plus especially for a non-garaged but obsessively cared for and maintained ride. I might point out that if one coat is good then 2 coats are better especially for the durability whiners. If the paint has been properly prepped a follow-up application with proper curing time from the first application (24-72 hours) will definitely insure some longevity. Plus, with this paste wax the 2nd coat will apply and buff with astonishing ease. Thats how it has worked for me and am betting the same for you. This is excellent paste wax. Shine on you crazy diamonds!

I fully decontaminated a vw Polo a few weeks ago. Stripping all previous protection and applying 2 coats of this turtlewax ceramic graphene wax. The finished results was outstanding concerning its a black car.
This polo is an un garaged car and has had some long motorway miles since the application.
It's in a sorry old state tbh. I've found the traffic film & grime has stuck to the protection like s**t to a blanket and we all know what our road salt is like. So it's going to be interesting to see its durability vs british winter conditions after only a few weeks and no toppers in between.

Had to wait ages for this to be back in stock and have used it once on a couple of panels before being rained off, so need to try it again to get a better idea of how good it is. This and Pinnacle Souveran are my favorite paste waxes. The Turtle Wax costs me $27, where the Pinnacle costs $80. I don't go through a full process when I use them. My car is ceramic coated, so I give the car a good wash, chemical decon, then apply with an orbital polisher.

Seems perplexing to me to use a paste wax on a ceramic-coated car. It's probably more effective (and less costly) to use a brand-specific topper in spray form, just spray and wipe off or use as a drying aid...but not a wax!

I do believe the durability is great except in extreme heat. I was getting 3+ months in the spring/summer up to around 85/90 degrees. Then took a trip for 10 days somewhere that was extremely hot 104+ degrees with salt air and that really seemed to kill the wax quick. Of course I’m sure that extreme is hard on any product.I came back from my trip and when I washed my car it was still beading but I could definitely see the reduction after such a short time. It was beading less after 10 days than it did after a month back home.

Thanks Paul! Nope you'll be fine to apply it without decontaminating but ideally the old wax would need removing first. I normally use Garage Therapy Zero Decon shampoo to kill off old protection before applying anything new. Not totally essentially if you don't mind reapplying it more often but it definitely helps with durability!

Looks to be good stuff but that's a bold claim up to 12 months we will have to see Turtle Wax how it fairs out.

Yeah 12 months on a paste wax does seem very ambitious. The only one I've tried that's been capable of that has been Fusso Coat. This car is kept outside so definitely not "ideal" conditions so I think 12 months is very unlikely. I think around 4-5 months is probably realistic but it'd be nice if it did last 6+

Nice video Heather, I used this in my megatest recently and wasn't impressed. I found it had very little in terms of stand out characteristics against a plethora of other types of waxes. I will be interested to see how it does for durability.

A little off subject Heather but did you get the new TW mist glass cleaner would love to see it go head to head with GT one glass cleaner. 👌

I've only tried the TW mist glass cleaner once and found it quite streaky compared to the GT glass cleaner!
