I'd recommend following up with "He Is" or "Year Zero" by Ghost. I'll leave it up to you as to whether you want to watch the censored or uncensored version of "Year Zero" 😁
Great reaction Stacey. Cirice is actually a song about manipulation disguised as a love song. I guess it's manipulation from church Tobias thought of in first hand. This song won one a Grammy in 2016.
Cirice means something like Old Church, which makes sense cause Ghost :) So many Carrie vibes in this video, great song, great video, great reaction as always.
It means church in Old English Pronounced either chi-ri-che (easy to see connection with church) or with a hard c like ki-ri-ke (very similar to the Norwegian equivalent kirke) There's debate on whether how much the Romans had softened the c by this point in Britain
Excellent analysis of Ghost especially for only hearing a few songs. You're spot on that their music is addicting, Tobias seemingly has a way to make every song become an ear worm that just never seems to leave your head. There are a ton more songs and levels to Ghost for you to discover you can't really go wrong with Ghost. As they say, if you have Ghost you have everything. Keep going, you'll continue to be surprised by what you thought you knew about this band.
@@jippa Usually security has a four to six foot gap between the the stage edge and the audience barrier. Too far to make actual contact. But he often will zero in on one audience member and reach out towards them even if they can’t touch. And he does blow kisses to them afterwards.
Despite the sinister aspect of 'Cirice', which is an invitation to a cult, it is a truly comforting song for many Ghost fans, so many of whom feel like outsiders in some way. Tobias Forge knows this, has mentioned it, and this is at the heart of the message behind the recent movie 'Rite Here Rite Now'. He had/has the habit of singling out an individual in the crowd at a specific point of the song; up until 2022, he waa able to hold their hand, too, but no more, the rituals are too big. If you want to see them live and can't wait, see the movie 'Rite Here Rite Now'when it comes out on streaming platforms (it has left theatres now). We don't know when that will be yet... I would recommend 'He Is' also, and my own personal comfort song, 'Call Me Little Sunshine', though I prefer the longer album version of that. It has a similar dark but comforting feel to 'Cirice'.
Keep an eye out for when their concert/movie comes out. Saw it in theaters recently and it was great, you’ll find an even bigger appreciation for them!
Abba of metal? - look at Ghost's "Spillways" - the actual Abba piano AND the musical key from "Money, Money, Money"! Those kids did a great job! That was Tobias and another important "Ghost" (clergy?) person in disguise at the end! edit: the girl is Cirice and the contact/connection with L'il Papa and the urge to defend him/them unleashed her powers - like Carrie or Firestarter! IMO.
😍😍😍Fantastic guitar-riff on the verse, heavy as hell! And then the melody, soft and understading... Perfect nuances!! Did you do "He is" yet? If no, I think you would love it! 🙂Thanks Stacy! I always enjoy your reactions.
The lyrics are basically about manipulative a spiritual leader that converts someone into their cult by giving attention to someone who's never felt seen or loved. Like what Charles Manson did when he sang his song "Look at your game girl" to shy outcast girls when he tried to get them into his cult. In the video little papa does the same with the girl. But also she's like Carrie from the Stephen King movie except her moment to show her powers is when she joins Papa instead of being pranked at the school dance
I'm glad to see you loving them. I'm an old dude that thought I'd never find new music, and didn't expect to like Ghost when my daughters brought them to me. But, I definitely fell down the rabbit hole and became a fan! Love it!
I had a very similar experience two years ago. Saw them at the behest of my son. He had been trying to get me into them, knowing I would become a fan. Three songs into the show and I was shook at how much a loved them. 3 songs-one of which was Imperium, arguable just an intro to Kaiserion. Rats. Them Rats did it to me.
Yus!! You know me with Ghost.. I just love them 😂 So many great tunes you could check out. Kiss the Goat, Ghuleh/Zombie Queen, The Ritual, Rats, The Pendulum to the Pit, and a banger cover of If You Have Ghosts to name a few. Can't wait for more! ❤

This song and "He is" were the songs that started a hot summer musical love affair with this album. Also this video always reminds me of back in 5th grade when we were doing a Christmas show for all the parents and one of the performances was us miming along with Candlemass - Sorcerer's Pledge. Hey, Stacy, some other Ghost songs that you should definitely check out: Spillways Call Me Little Sunshine Hunter's Moon He Is Kiss The Go-Goat Also, their covers of "We Don't Need Another Hero" and "Jesus, He Knows Me"
Watch it again and listen closely to the very first line you hear in it (the mother talking to the daughter) as you'll actually hear how to pronounce Cirice (which is the girl's name, but like so many things within their music, it has a double meaning that's been explained by other commenters.) Also, whenever they perform this song live, Papa will pick a lovely lady in the audience to be "Ciriced". 😎
So Stacey how did you like my end of year show? 🤣 The introduction of the piece gently takes us into a very particular mood and atmosphere. The guitar riff is powerful, heavy and captivating, I love it. With each new video, you analyze the music better and better and I'm delighted that you liked Cirice, it's one of the best songs of the group IMO. Bye'n'cha 🤘🤘🤘

You should definitely do a reaction to Devin Townsend's live version of "Deadhead" from Royal Albert Hall. Judging by your other videos, you will absolutely love it!!
Cirice (SiReese), is the name of the dark brooding girl. She got powered up from the band. And used it to scare the folks save the band etc. Uses telepathy and telekinesis to use against the audience. Lol
Ghost rocks. Definitely not metal, but they are damn catchy. Earlier Ghost was heavier, definitely. It's worth checking some tracks from their first two albums
Ghost caught me off guard. Not only are the songs so solid, with each album getting better and better, they are more than just a great Rock Group. Tobias dreamed up this whole concept of what Ghost is and every album is actually a concept album based off of that vision...Each one going deeper into the story. They have side movies, "messages from the clergy" it is huge a production that doesn't start and end with songs. How people interpret the story is up to them but my interpretation has always been that "the clergy" is a secret organization awaiting the appearance of Anti-Christ and that Ghost is the Anti-Church with Papa as of course...the Anti Pope. What is so cool about this concept is that Tobias can re invent the Anti-Pope 100 times over and the story never changes...Right? Papa 1, 2 and 3 all came and went, then were killed off...The Cardinal stuck around a few months then was Anti-Christened Papa IV. Tobias kills me...WHAT VISION! Do I believe they are truly Satanic? No...Not in the slightest bit. Tobias Forge isn't going on Stage...Papa is. They are Actors and Musicians and I think they play both roles perfectly...and Cirice (sir-'ese long e on ese) was the first song I ever heard by them. Love you, btw Stacy....First time here. Your energy is a captivating as your beauty.
The video is referencing the movie "Carrie" (adapted from a Stephen King book) about an unpopular teenage girl who manifests psychic powers. The name "Cirice" may itself be a reference to Circe the witch who enthralled Oddyseus in classical greek literature.
Any members of ToS or TST, please feel free to correct me: This song (and album) is a sort of parody of Evangelist "Christian Rock." The lyrics are very much about proselytizing (trying to convert someone into your religion). This song, specifically, is about how Lucifer (side note: Satan is a title meaning "Adversary." His name is/was Lucifer) doesn't try to shame anyone into belief, unlike the Biblical God. The Biblical God loves to spout verse after verse about how some people are unclean or unworthy or born with sin or any other form of saying "you're just not good enough." Lucifer is all accepting and actually trafficks in "unconditional" love. He (Lucifer) is still a deity, so he does require your worship, but not because if you worship him you'll be rewarded like the Biblical God, but rather because you're already good enough, and you don't need to prove your worth to Lucifer. "I know your soul is not tainted, even though you've been told so." and "I can hear the thunder breaking in your heart, I can see through the scars inside you." Lucifer knows the damage the Biblical God's worship wreaks onto its followers, and he (Lucifer) needs you to know that you don't have anything to prove. You're already a good, worthy, and clean person. And he (Lucifer) loves you. Check out the song "He Is" for more great Evangelist "Christian Rock" parody! 🤘🤘
You really "get" Ghost - how talented they are, and all that they balance. This video also is a tribute to Carrie (Stephen King), the video has the titles and color-tone of 70's horror movies. The song is about manipulation, and how comforting it can appear to be. Tobias is a true genius, everything he does is done at such a high level.
Stacey It pronounced Sir EEce. Cirice means in Old English as "Church". When I 1st seen this video; it gave me "Carrie" vibes by Stephen King made into 2 movies: 1976's version & 2013's version. Little girl mesmerized by little papa has telekinesis.
You should react to some Michael Jackson live performances!! Motown 25 Billie Jean, or some Dangerous Tour Bucharest 1992 performances! As QUEEN, MJ is amazing!
This is one of the few bands I've listened to where I think their live shows sound better than their recorded music. If you enjoy them, I cannot recommend enough seeing them live.
if you can get live shows they tune down and have a much heavier sound. My son and I first saw them when they supported Metallica at Twickenham. At teh end of the set I turned to him and said "We have to go see these guys in their own show". Fast forward a few mionths and my son messaged me to say they were playing on London at Wembley arena. We got tickets and it was an excellent show. They don't disappoint. "Year Zero" live is epic.
For more HEAVY Ghost, definitely check out Faith, preferably the official lyric video instead of the OMV, since it uses the full album version instead of a shortened radio edit that chops our half the best guitar work.
People who say Ghost aren't heavy expect "metal" to be defined as 180bpm with the cookie monster on vocals. Ghost is metal by the 1970's definition This song won a grammy. The music video is vaguely based on the film Carrie from 1976 Ghost was still a band at this point rather than a theatrical project with Tobias the only member. Good times 👻
This whole record is top-tier, and this song is just fantastic. The video, though...it's just a whole other level of excellent. Any bands putting out videos should aspire towards this level. For some reason, this video in particular really hits me hard. I always get choked up and I really don't know why, but it clearly connects somewhere deep down. As you said, there is something "refreshing" about these guys. There's a lot of haters in the metal scene, but they're all wrong 😆😆
if your addicted to MOC and Dance Macabre which are very good, wait till you get to their great stuff! Ritual, Rats, Year zero, Witch image, Elizabeth, absolution.
OK, so, here's MY interpretation. There is no real "official" explanation. Song is from the Melloria album, which is Terzo's tenure as Papa. Little Papa here, however, is wearing Secondo's face paint and the ghouls are wearing the costumes and masks of Secondo's ghouls. Not sure why it's not a little Terzo and Terzo's ghouls, but I digress. IRL, I assume the video was filmed before Tobias has nailed down the new look for Papa and the ghouls. But it feels overall like this is little Secondo trying out his first performance on his unsuspecting school talent show. From the get-go, there is something a little off here, yeah? I find it's the clothing and setting. Cirice's mother is wearing gloves and a kerchief. Other women in the audience are also wearing gloves. Cirice herself is wearing a babydoll dress that hasn't been in fashion for a long time. Everyone's hairstyles also seem pretty outdated. A good chunk of the women are wearing dresses or skirts. The men are almost all wearing boxy, somewhat ill-fitting suits. To a children's talent show? Why would you dress up for that? And there's a certain smokiness even before the fog machine comes out to play. As though people are allowed to smoke in there. No one's got a phone out to record the show. There's not even a camcorder or anything. So it looks like this is the late sixties/early seventies. If you do the math with what little canon info we have, Secondo and Terzo both would have been in elementary or middle school around that period. So that fits with my "this is little Secondo's first public performance". Cirice is a Carrie stand-in. She really doesn't seem to want to be there. She's clearly not performing in the show. There's no indication that she has a sibling in the show. WHY IS SHE EVEN THERE? (My guess is that mom just wanted to come and gossip/hang out with the other moms.) Cirice doesn't interact with anyone, she might as well be invisible. She barely even pays attention at all until those lights come on and the guitars start. Little Papa there SEES her. When he reaches out, she's compelled to reach back. That contact kickstarts her dormant telekinetic powers. When the boy she just made a connection with is threatened, she "force-chokes" the principal, then closes and locks all of the doors, forcing the audience to stay and listen. The couple at the end who cheer? I believe those must be Secondo's caregivers. Nihil is his father, but that is def not Nihil. The widespread fan theory is that Primo raised his brothers himself, so that could be Primo and the woman is either Secondo's mother or just a random Sister of Sin that is his surrogate mother. I noticed that while the woman is dressed pretty blandly, the man's suit is well-fitted and sharp-looking, unlike the other men's. He's also rocking some facial hair very reminiscent of the typical representation of the devil. Very rock n roll for the time. I like to think that little Cirice there later becomes a Sister of Sin and is Secondo's favorite.
Stacey You stated of what genre that Ghost fits in? It is hard to fit them in a genre. Ghost is like previous shock rock acts from the past such as Ozzy. You already noticed singer, Tobias Forge dressed as cosplay like Pope or a Cardinal of Catholic Religion. All of their new songs have religious themes. In the beginning, Glost covered famous songs.
Really need to explor ghost lore, the songs are ine thing but there is a progression to each album and their message, then there is the whole messages from the clergy series. Even watch a full concert. Takes all the aspects to fully apreciate the creativity of tobias.
I'd recommend following up with "He Is" or "Year Zero" by Ghost. I'll leave it up to you as to whether you want to watch the censored or uncensored version of "Year Zero" 😁

By far my favorite Ghost song. Brilliant songwriting and, as you already said, their vibe and the atmosphere are spectacular.
Up until the last tour, whenever Ghost performed this song during rituals, Papa would take the hand of someone in the audience.
Yes, the tours are too big now, unfortunately. He does select someone still...
I saw them during their last tour and Papa Cirice'd a lucky young woman at the concert I was at. They obviously didn't for RHRN.
No he does it sometimes still. If he can.

Youre so optimistic, U like every video you react to.
The video is referencing the movie "Carrie" (adapted from a Stephen King book) about an unpopular teenage girl who manifests psychic powers. The name "Cirice" may itself be a reference to Circe the witch who enthralled Oddyseus in classical greek literature.
Any members of ToS or TST, please feel free to correct me:
This song (and album) is a sort of parody of Evangelist "Christian Rock." The lyrics are very much about proselytizing (trying to convert someone into your religion).
It's just good old fashioned rock n roll like kiss, at this time n mo well last 10 yrs no body else is doing what these guys have done
It's a take on the movie Carrie. Remember Tobias is a horror buff
Stacey
It pronounced Sir EEce. Cirice means in Old English as "Church". When I 1st seen this video; it gave me "Carrie" vibes by Stephen King made into 2 movies: 1976's version & 2013's version. Little girl mesmerized by little papa has telekinesis.
Ghost just released a music video for their newest song, The Future is a Foreign Land. I highly recommend it
I suggest Rats next. The music video is like combo of Thriller & Dancing in the Rain, it's one of my favorite music videos of theirs.
"Year Zero" live is epic.
can you listen to some system of a down songs? especially toxicity by them!
all of their most popular songs are so good like chop suey, aerials etc (:
Call me little sunshine by ghost is really good too highly recommend checking that one out
astros always a great touch
For more HEAVY Ghost, definitely check out Faith, preferably the official lyric video instead of the OMV, since it uses the full album version instead of a shortened radio edit that chops our half the best guitar work.
Beautiful.
I haven't ever heard them before ⭕️👂⁉️☯️💯
Year Zero! Love your content girl!
My cat got up into my business at the exact same time yours did. Cats.
People who say Ghost aren't heavy expect "metal" to be defined as 180bpm with the cookie monster on vocals. Ghost is metal by the 1970's definition
This song won a grammy. The music video is vaguely based on the film Carrie from 1976
Ghost was still a band at this point rather than a theatrical project with Tobias the only member. Good times 👻
Please react to Freak On A Leash by Korn.
In flames!!! Next band!!
call me little sunshine should be on your list too
Pronounciation: From old English, Chi-ri-che. But for the song, Si-rees. Meaning church. The music video inspired by Carrie.
This is my favorite Ghost song
This whole record is top-tier, and this song is just fantastic. The video, though...it's just a whole other level of excellent. Any bands putting out videos should aspire towards this level. For some reason, this video in particular really hits me hard. I always get choked up and I really don't know why, but it clearly connects somewhere deep down.
As you said, there is something "refreshing" about these guys. There's a lot of haters in the metal scene, but they're all wrong 😆😆
You have to see them live.
He is or Spillways next! 🤟🤘😍
Please...😇😈😉
The little girl in the video is a bit reminiscent of the horror movie Carrie. I recommend that movie (the original, there was also a remake).
if your addicted to MOC and Dance Macabre which are very good, wait till you get to their great stuff! Ritual, Rats, Year zero, Witch image, Elizabeth, absolution.
Best music video ever…
Please react to their mockumentary about their lore, Metal Myths Part 2

You stated of what genre that Ghost fits in? It is hard to fit them in a genre. Ghost is like previous shock rock acts from the past such as Ozzy. You already noticed singer, Tobias Forge dressed as cosplay like Pope or a Cardinal of Catholic Religion. All of their new songs have religious themes. In the beginning, Glost covered famous songs.
I DO LOVE GHOST❤
Really need to explor ghost lore, the songs are ine thing but there is a progression to each album and their message, then there is the whole messages from the clergy series. Even watch a full concert. Takes all the aspects to fully apreciate the creativity of tobias.
You want to really have an emotional experience? Review David Gilmour’s “The Blue live at Gdańsk”.
Newer songs that are great from them are Kaisarion, Griftwood and Watcher in the Sky.
I think it's, Siri with a ce at the end. As in a person's name Cir-ice'.
you should also listen to Carpenter Brut and Perturbator ! YOU will love it !
I'd really love to see your reaction to Killing Loneliness or Wings of a Butterfly by HIM
