I head out to a Cretaceous area in New Zealand to look for fossils, hopefully, there is a dinosaur bone out there waiting for me! The weather was great and the seals were not too unfriendly which made for an awesome day of fossil hunting.
I had some really good finds, including a rock I will need to investigate further to see if I can figure out what bone it is.

Dear Morne, please go get yourself another collapsable cart for carrying these big rocks back. I'm very worried about your back!
Lovely finds. Thanks for taking us along!

Man, the Juvenile Plesiosaur is 70 million years old, makes you wonder how old the adults would be!

the problem is it's not 60Mill yard old just recently they have found oxygen in distance spiral galaxies and now make diamonds in 150mins and why would diamonds contain C12 if impervious to element ingress as being the hardest natural thing known to man (beyond carbon nanosheets)....?

Evening, looking at the piece of petrified wood you came across that you could see the growth rings on it, it looked like there were over 100 rings on that small piece? Nice to see you back.
    Regards Richard 🇬🇧

That is a head scratcher bone! I can't wait to find out what it could be! And If there is more hiding in that big old rock! Sorry I missed your premier! If you could let either Karen or I know when you are premiering, we can post it in the discord! Thanks Morne❣️ awesome finds! And that huge boulder that is covered in belemnites is totally awesome and would be in my yard, if I lived in New Zealand! 😆

Hi! I live in Washington State and I wish our beaches had fossil bearing rocks! Many years ago I went on a fossil hunting adventure in the hills above Kern County in California. Eons ago Kern County was covered by an ancient sea and we went hunting for shark fossils. I found a few teeth of various sizes and some larger fossils were also found. So I have to enjoy your fossils via TH-cam!

Wow, what an awesome spot you have found! My 7yr old son loves fossil hunting and watching your videos. We've found the odd little thing around marlborough, mostly shells. We are wanting to head for a look around Kaikoura for some shark teeth, but wouldn't know where to start. He would absolutely lose his mind in delight if we found a plesiosaur bone! Or anything more than shells really 😂
We have a lot of fun as a family hunting.

Come have a look at my workshop in Waikuku if you have time, it's open on weekends from 09:00 - 13:00 and it has some examples of the teeth from the area :)

    Wonderful video!
I agree with you - Julian's channel is great too, I've been subbed to that for a while!
Just a quick bit of advice - if you're opening your workshop as a museum, *please please have good security!*
I would absolutely hate it if some scumbag came along and stole some of your irreplaceable fossils.
If I were doing it, I'd put the displays behind some Perspex or something similar, as an art-work would be.
Might cost a bit but for me, the "peace of mind" would be well worth it.

I enjoy your videos. I do a lot of rock hounding but run across an occasional fossil. Can you do a video on how to tell if a fossil is a dinosaur egg? I have a weird rock that just might be only a rock but, it’s a weird rock. Or turn me to a website that can give a good detail on “how to…” I find bits and pieces and lots of pictures. Thanks.
