@@lexx3423 lol your only way of having a rooster that doesn't crow is to not have a rooster tbh. I have a black minorca rooster and hes super talkative. I enjoy that though 😆
That happened to us last year at Tractor Supply. We bought Red Sex Links that can be sexed at hatch by color. Light colored are roosters, caramels are hens. Well, they were all caramel colored day old chicks. But at a week old I noticed when I put my hand in to change out their water or food all the chicks would scurry in fright except for one. That would run up to investigate what I was doing. I knew right then it was a rooster. I was right. From then on he got braver and would try to attack my hand every time I tried to change out water or food and that was only when they were just weeks old. They’re now a year old and he's the meanest dang rooster we've ever had!! He attacks us when we go in to feed them or gather eggs. We have to go in with an umbrella now to fend him off. Incubating eggs now and his butt is history. He's ginormous, strong and breaking down our 10 hens with his weight so we've separated him now. Can't wait to get rid of this evil rooster! We've had chickens for years and never had one so darn mean. Update: We did get rid of him. I tell ya, he won’t be attacking anyone else. I’ve never in all my life had a demonic rooster until we had him. He was just evil. We didn’t even want have any offspring from him because we’ve heard many people say that it can be something in their bloodline. It was so mean we had to put shoe strings on his feet and tie his feet together to help prevent him from jumping up and flogging us. He could still walk since we left enough room for him to move his feet freely and we cut off his freakin 3” daggers too! But he would still jump up so we still had to go in with an umbrella to gather eggs so we put him back in a separate pen until we got rid of his demonic butt! Sad because he was a stunningly beautiful rooster to see. He was huge and just absolutely gorgeous.

Thanks for the info. Was pretty helpful. One of my baby chicks is pecking the feet and at my other chicks. It’s only a day old but I had to take it out of the incubator and place in the brooder box. What should I do?
Great video! Thank you for addressing this. I especially appreciate the "crowing hen" topic. I thought I was the only one who had a hen that crowed...lol. She was given to me, she's older and bigger than my other hens. Even her behavior is a bit different, she sits higher than the others. Now I won't think that she has an ugly voice or that she's a weirdo. She does lay beautiful x-large eggs. We are blessed to have her and the rest of the flock is too. Looking forward to more of your videos. Thanks so much for sharing. Reno, Nevada.
My alpha hen crows as well. She warns of predators and crows when it’s her time to lay. She’s quite the character. Definitely the dominant, aggressive lady. She’s been a handful. But she’s a good leader!
Great video! Finallyyyy someone who acknowledges the difference in breed! 😅 everyone talks about the feather sexing etc, but it doesn’t apply to many breeds! I completely agree with you on the males looking you in the eyes early on and just being overall more observant.
Another way I can always tell early on is by behavior. Even as early as a week old many roosters will run toward your hand as you go to change our the water or food in the brooder. Unlike the hens who typically scurry in fright to the other side of the brooder. If any tend to run away but then run back up to your hand in curiosity or even jumps at your hand as to flog it, it's a rooster! Mine started doing that at just a few days old and now he just turned 1 and he's the meanest rooster we've ever had! We're hatching eggs in the incubator and he's history.
@Riyaz Ahmad Bangee No, mine are Golden Comets. Also known as Red Sex Links. They lay really large brown eggs and lay even throughout the winter. We've never owned game birds. Never been fond of game birds or meat birds.
Oh no!! I ordered all pullets and have two chicks I’m not so sure about, who run right up to my hand and investigate. Definitely not as weary as the other chicks. I cannot have roosters where I live so I was hoping this wasn’t the case. But I also have a brood of meat chicks, so they may end up in that brooder :( sad! One is a beautiful Black Copper Maran chick and I was hoping it was female. I guess we shall see. All the others are supposed to be red sex link. And the one that may be a roo has a red tipped beak unlike the others. But a couple of the “female” red sex links I was sent are yellow. So I’m not so sure about this brood.
@ we ended up having to cull him. We couldn’t even walk into the chicken pen without an umbrella. You’d have to open it and do your best to keep it between you and him. Which was difficult when you’re trying to carry an egg basket and picking up eggs out of nests and then hens running around your feet too. But we got rid of all our chickens right after Covid because the feed was so expensive & they weren’t laying at all. Which was strange. Many people were saying the same thing Facebook too. But we ended up getting chickens again because we’ve always had chickens & it seemed so odd not to have any. So far we’ve not had any issues with a mean rooster with this bunch. (New Hampshire Red)

I think I have two roosters and two hens. I went to water and feed them in the morning and I heard a weird loud crow and I thought the neighbors rooster made his way into my yard and the chicken was flapping wings and I heard it again. It wasn’t a defined crow but yeah.
Why does my roster crow at 2:00 AM .
I had a rooster that crowed all night long until I turned off the light in the kitchen window. I guess he thought the sun was coming up!.😮
I had to quarentine my rooster because he was being a dick. Which his name is Richard now.
lol! Great name
I've never had chicks before, until recently. I picked 6 chicks, 4 are probably roosters 😢. I already fell deeply in love with them. What am I to do??. I live in the city. I'm devastated.
I have a hen with a spur on the right leg she’s the boss too she especially doesn’t like roosters but she lays eggs 🥚
I bought 4 polish chicks. Praying I have a max of 1 rooster
My 5 week old chick got up on the food dish stood straight up puffed
Out his chest and flapped his wings
I thought I would hear a crow.but not yet
My alpha hen growls
Why does it look like she is saying a morse code with her eyes-
Was there anything actually said?
Nice
Or you can tell when my 5 week old boys are kicking the butts of my 16 week old hateful pullets. lol Got me a couple of good roosters! :)
One of my chicks is all black will it stay like that? I'm trying to learn all I can
Rooster chicks also have thicker long legs.
I have heard of a neighbour who has a "gay" rooster, doesn't crow, doesnt mount her hens, is very gentle, docile and friendly, just is confused by the "hen squat", only clucks like a hen and is bullied by all her hens and 1 actual rooster. He is a silky if that means anythinh
My chick is the only one that hatched and I can’t tell which it it?????

It's not evolution. God made them, they're adaptable. Cool!
😂
Amen, @dorcasmcleod9439 ...I unsubbed as soon as I heard that. No offense, but I would rather subscribe to people who have the truth.
evolution is a religion
I’m thinking of hatching my own eggs if I get a rooster would he get on with his dad and would he mate with his sisters lol
Not evolved... created.
deceptive bait and switch
Watch the “gun” it’s fake
The females are usually more emotional and like to spend your money
