did you know that you can tell the difference between a girl chick and a boy chick by picking them up without holding their legs, and if its a boy, he will pick up his legs, and if its a girl, then she will just let her legs hang. at least that's what I've heard... from my teacher... Hi from Germany. I hatched eggs from my incubator and did the feather check. I thought all were hens but now i am sure 1 is a rooster. They are 16 weeks old now

After I've touched the eggs and relocated her, she doesn't set anymore. How is this done? Do you have a video on it somewhere?

That's kinda funny the hens make way more noise after laying than the rooster,when you have 12 hens and one roo they are way more on the noise level...

Becky, this video’s title is misleading; I’m disappointed. This video does NOT tell me how to tell if a chicken is male or female. Rather, Becky said to not even try, but to order the sex you want from a breeder or select the desired sex from the appropriate bins in the farm store.
Ive tried feather- not good ive tried vent- have to squeeze baby harder than i was comfortable,no go Some breeds (sexlinks) have a dot on there head or dont. very good breed for eggs also
I know this was a while back BUT I bought Black sex link pullets chicks none had a white dot on there heads at 2-3 days old. Guess what I have a big black/red comb Rooster at week 8 definitely a rooster. He fooled me.. LOL so not always 100%.

Excellent advice for the gentlemen: Make sure the rooster does the rooster dance.
Males and females run about 50-50 so expect half of them male in a straight run

You can actually tell the sex of the chicken by their wings, a roosters feathers are straight across, where the females are layered

I ordered from a feedstore who ordered 2 pullets from a hatchery and still got a rooster but they are hopefully giving me another chick to makeup
