  • In the last #OpenBSD VMM video, we created a VM and installed Debian. However, starting the VM requires memorizing a long command. In this video, we explore the vm.conf file that eases the management of VMM tremendously, especially when running multiple VMs. Additionally, we can specify which VM belongs to which groups and users.

I wonder if you could use XRDP to get graphical useage of Linux under vmm.

There's a comment in another video by a viewer on optimizing X11 forward. I yet have to test that. If it doesn't improve the speed, the next thing for me would be VNC and then RDP.
To what I know XRDP is not available on port, instead there's FreeRDP

Is running a non openbsd vm in vmm safe as running a bare metal openbsd? Or, by doing this, we are just expanding our attack surface?

To be honest I don't know. But my default assumption always is more code = more attack surface = bugs = security issues. If it is up to me I prefer OpenBSD on a bare metal server and keeping all the security mitigations on like disabled smt, ... Again the assumption is the system is running in a hustle environment. For home users, it can be more forgiving.
