I have always HATED doing hats. This is a great tutorial that just might make me try again. I've never really found anyone who gave such a great explanation for hooping a hat. Thanks.
Thank you so much for this. I am struggling with structured hats and this morning thought about steaming them. Then found this video. I have a different machine but the concept is the same. Well done and very detailed.
Thank you for subscribing to my channel. I started doing embroidery in 2000, i have been an instructor and Technician for 17 years. More amazing tutorials and tech tips to come. I am just getting started😀
Can I use a design in my PR680 to embroider on a hat? If not where do I get a digitized design? How do I know if a design is digitized. Thanks for answering my questions. I enjoyed and learned from your video.
If your pr680 came with a hat hoop attachment, absolutely. If not you will need some version of a hat hoop. I use Qdigitizing.com to get designs made make sure you tell them it is for a hat. Embroidery files have a 3 letter file extension for example. Emb .ofm. exp. .dst
I actually do not own or use one, however if I could use one I would use the hoop master! shopmelco.com/hoopmaster-starter-kit-for-square-5-5-mighty-hoop-hoop-included/
I had never considered steaming the cap. That alone is going to help me. Thanks so much.

How did you slow the machine down over the seam again? I can't remember or find it online. :-) Thanks.
It can be adjusted on the key pad with the grabber button and the up for faster or down for slower, 50 stitches per minute at a time 😀

Where do you get a cap stand that allows you to rotate the cap around? I'm a newbie and the one that came with the machine doesn't have that feature.

Thank you just ordered it.
One more question. The hat frame you have is it just specific to you embroidery machine? Thanks again
I think other brands have a wide angle cap frame but I do not have a list of them.
Great tips, you must be charging $30 ea for your hats to be taking that much time on each hat….
It really only takes 30 seconds to hoop properly, but 15 min to explain it all
