I hate Denny Hamlin and love Joey Logano but that day at auto club Joey just wasn't going to lose he refused to lose because of what happened at Bristol. he stayed in the gas he got tight underneath the Hamlin and wrecked them both. That will happen between joey and Matt at Kansas was not Joey's fault he tried to pass Matt three times matt through three blocks. The last one blocking Joey up into the wall. When Joey made a fourth attempt to pass Matt low Matt went to block and Joey didn't lift kind of like Carl Edwards and Brad Keselowski at Talladega. Is it Kensiths fault for throwing the block, for Joey's fault for not lifting for him for a fourth time? I guess that's a matter of your personal moral opinion on track etiquette.

I’ve been watching motor racing for like 40 years. What Kyle Busch did to Ron Hornaday is easily the worst thing I’ve ever seen in the sport. It’s one thing to do stuff when you’re racing, but Kyle Busch tried to kill Ron Hornaday under caution. You’ll never be able to convince me he didn’t try to.
He legitimately should’ve had criminal charges pressed against him for attempted murder. It happened so long ago and it still boils my blood to this day because of how terrible it was. He sent him head on into that wall.

The interesting thing about the Joey/Matt situation at Kansas that nobody talks about was a few laps prior, Joey showed he was faster and tried to go to the outside to pass cleanly and Matt blocked him up the track. Had Joey not lifted, Matt would've been turned head on into the outside wall. Joey lifts and Matt pulls back ahead a little. Joey runs him back down, gets a run on him off four, tries to go to the outside again and Matt moved him all the way up the track for a second time. There's an old adage in NASCAR. Block me once, shame on me, block me twice, shame on you. I have never once blamed either driver for the incident. If I were a team owner, I would want my driver to defend like Matt was. If I were a team owner, I also wouldn't want my driver to just let himself be blocked all over the track. Before anyone mentions "Well he already had a win", Joey and the team does not care. Nobody races or is paid to settle for second. If you're okay with "good enough", competitive sports aren't for you. I also understand why Matt was pissed though, because Joey acted like an antagonizing little fucker after it.

So here's the unwritten rule of Nascar fandom.
If your driver wrecks my driver it was never an accident it was totally on purpose so when my driver gets revenge against your driver no matter how blatantly dangerous or whose race it ruins it was justified.
When my driver wrecks your driver and your driver gets revenge on my driver well that was uncalled for because my driver only wrecked your driver on accident obviously and your driver is way over the line and revenge can't be tolerated in the sport.

All these wrecks are a product of the playoff system. Drivers already know they're in and have nothing to lose if they have a bad race because NASCAR thinks it's great to reset the points for the last 10, 12, now 16 races.

I watched the Joey/Kenseth spat from start to finish. 20 blocked and cut off the 22 for 10 laps before the initial incident, doing whatever he could to win. The 22 got tired of avoiding the 20 car's attempts to block his way to a win and didn't lift when the 20 threw another block. The 20 spun off the nose of the 22 to thunderous cheers. No one wanted another Gibbs car in the playoffs or Kenseth. Weeks later when Kenseth pulled a bone head move, NASCAR parked the 20. JGR subsequently lost a sponsor and Kenseth lost a contract renewal as a result of his insane behavior. Kenseth has always been a bad loser.

The Kenseth/Logano deal was really Kenseth/Penske. Both Logano and Keslowski had in track running with Matt that year, and the Martinsville wreck that knocked out Kenseth was caused by Brad. I think Matt had just had enough of the two of them.

The crash at Kansas was Matt's fault. Joey tried passing him three times Matt blocked him three times the third time blocking him so late he squeezed him into the wall. Joey goes low to passing for a fourth time and Matt comes down to block again and Joey doesn't lift. Matt does clear Joey's front bumper by millimeters but Joey has all the momentum. Why should he have to live for a guy whose blocked him three times one of the times squeezing him up in the wall that could have cost him the entire race. Do you think that brad kislowski should have had to lift for Carl Edwards late block at Talladega? It's really kind of the same thing.

To be fair and if I recall it correctly, one of the tires on Kyle Larson's machine had started to go down while the car was coming out of that turn and he had no where else to go due to the forces acting upon the vehicle at the time. This sort of stuff happens all the time.
Wallace took it personal, got blatantly reckless with a motor vehicle and then later to the physical extremes.
I can remember seeing a lot of drivers rallying around Wallace when the media was making a big deal about the hanging noose thing in the garage. But after that nonsense with Larson, I had lost all of my respect for Wallace.

NASCAR fans don't use facts or logic.
If your driver wrecks my driver it was obviously on purpose so when my driver gets revenge on your driver no matter the circumstances no matter how many innocent victims get their race run by it, it was justified. And it should be celebrated and shown on every highlight reel for all eternity.
If my driver gets into your driver and your driver gets revenge on my driver well obviously that's uncalled for because my driver getting into your driver was an obvious accident and your driver overreacted and put everybody's lives in danger and needs to be penalized. can't have people getting revenge in this sport it's too dangerous.
