    Nice job! I would love to see some before and after pictures out of the sunlight on the ramp.

      Although it would look awesome in the sun, it’s easier to spot texture issues under artificial lighting.

    Superb results and a true testament to your skills. Just a shame it's on a hangar-queen "bush plane". It reminds me of those Hummers you see around LA that have never seen dirt in their life. Well, maybe 5 seconds on a manicured lawn when leaving the golf club after too many Mimosas. :O

    Did you have to rebalance the rudder? (AC43.13-1B paragraph 4-36 a and b) speak about the importance of keeping track of weight changes to prevent fluttering. Mainly talks about adding paint, but this is removal of paint from the manufacturer after they balanced the control surface. From that one could infer, that this procedure merits a balance check on the rudder. Unless the maintenance manual makes note of this procedure being approved and weight changes are negligible.
    Are you signing off these alterations, or is this somehow considered preventive maintenance? If that is so, then how?

    Kodiak should look at the paint process at the factory....... maybe a wee bit more reducer for a wee bit longer flow out.......... or maybe just another well trained painter !
    If this is just small areas so be it, ... wonder if EMRON sands and Buffs as well ? AS FOR THE PLANE.. I'll take it. GREAT JOB !

    Well done! You have the patience of Job! why not cover the rivets with cut in/trim tape?

    What are your thoughts about denim/ velvet pads for orange peel? Is it a 'half answer'? Just for minor OP? Thanks!

      ksportedrummerv I have tried it on a junk hood. It produced a lot of heat and was rather slow.

    Love your videos, very well done. Can you talk about glass and carpet? I’ve watched many of your clips and haven’t seen that yet. Thanks!

    • @AvianaAircraft
      @AvianaAircraft  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Since most of my jobs are far away from home, I avoid carpets since I have limited space for carpet equipment such as extractors or steamers. There are a number of spray on - rub with towel fabric products that you can use though, Gtechniq I2 Tri-Clean, which we use for leather all the time, is one of them. I will try and get a window polishing video made at some time :)

    Hi, beautiful job as always. Just one question. How much will this polishing process affect the outer layer of paint/varnish? Will it stay still enough thick to protect the paint? Thank you so much for the answer🙂👍

    • @AvianaAircraft
      @AvianaAircraft  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is an important question. Generally you don't want to remove more than 25% of clear coat as most of the UV protection in clearcoat is in the top. So if you have 100 microns of clear coat, that means you should remove no more than 25 microns.
      In this case I don't remember the exact thickness, but it was actually rather thick. When sanding, we sand only until the peaks of the orange peal are removed.

    Hi, love the video. I have a 182 with dark blue paint on the underside of the fuselage. In a previous video I watched, you had a special formula you used to remove the lead residue from the paint. Do you sell this cleaner or, can you disclose what is in the cleaner?

    • @AvianaAircraft
      @AvianaAircraft  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Still working on ensuring safety and compatibility with all airplane paint types, sometimes on more porous paints it can leave some green staining which would have to be paint corrected then. It is not quite market ready yet :)
