Great podcast. I'm a psychologist and one way to help with many of the anxiety related symptoms you guys talk about is increase one's Frustration Tolerance. Cause if we avoid life (and its frustration) all the time, we never gain evidence that we were actually able to survive the uncomfortability.
Thank you!! Though I listened to the podcast version of it already, I love your random TH-cam uploads of these mini-snippets of them. Getting immense value from them as little reminders :) 💕
I understand why I get a "total mind blank" when I go to declutter... My clutter causes me stress but I am emotionally attached to it... So when I try to work through it and get rid of stuff, my mind says "nope, your not going there sister, don't deal with this!" Therefore my clutter is never dealt with... Subconsciously I'm taking that pill to cover it up! Thank you for showing me where I'm going wrong and how I can fix it!!!
I have all the same causes of anxiety, Clutter, people, public speaking, travel my daughter(in certain situations). So I practice yoga daily and it helps me adjust and accept things I can't control. Also my husband is a borderline hoarder which really pushes me over the edge. We are moving and I have been purging, donating and selling like crazy.
Social media also makes me anxious and unhappy but it’s something I don’t feel like I can give up because I would feel alone and cut off from people. One of the biggest things bothering me at the moment is to do with followers on Instagram and having people you know (including family) choosing to unfollow me when they follow other related people or ‘friends’. I’d love it if you could give any advice on how to deal with this as it makes me sad but I don’t know how to approach it. Maybe it’s me and people just don’t like me I really don’t know... Thank you for all your help and guidance guys X
I am so glad I stumbled upon you two! Two days ago, I watched the documentary you have out on minimalism and I already have some answers as to why my life is the way it is and how I can start to change it. I have way too much stuff that doesn't serve me in any way and I've started making the painful decisions on what to get rid of. Do you have any videos that could help guild me and make it easier for me to let go of things I don't need? I struggle with the idea that I might need a particular item in the future or I might wear that again some day or it's in great shape - I should just hold on to it. It's that kind of thinking that hinders me from getting it done and I want that so badly. And owning all this stuff gives me anxiety!
I know this is 2 years late but I just watched in a previous video from these guys that you start with the easiest items to get rid of... The ones with the least emotional attachment for you. As you move through it, that "Muscle" is slowly getting stronger and stronger to help you let go of stuff. Also remind yourself constantly that the people who maybe Attached to the item you want to get rid of, are not in that item... That person is in you! You hold the memories in your heart and mind. The things that burden you are like Ebinezer Scrooge's chain...he carried it on him in life and carried it in death because he couldn't let go! Think of it as a sinking boat.. the more you throw overboard, the more the boat will lighten and rise up and float! Or the more you weight you remove from a car or plane, the faster it will fly! Hope this helps you.
@@rachelknight6028 Thank you for responding. It brought it all back and reminded me of how much I still need to do. I had forgotten all about this. And what you had to say really helps. Thanks!
Hello. Love this. I too have OCD (intrusive thoughts) as well as liking order in my life. With 2 kids thats sometimes hard to cope with. Thanks for your honesty in this video. I have found 'The Chimp Paradox' a great book that helps and 'my inner chimp' is one i have been using with my children. Witg Love from UK xxx
My husband suffers anxiety & his on double the meds now. But the anxiety can ripple down to us all ie the kids. How can I help him or my kids - it can be really difficult.
I have anxiety for my exams. I have two left, and I don't like to study these courses again and again. But of course each time I fail, I do need to start over, so there is more of the same. The exam day itself is the worst. It's today :/

That's exactly what my therapist said. Lol
We have to learn to change the perspective to build up tolerance.
I like your therapist! ;)
"By covering up the immediate anxiety, it extends the anxiety" -brilliant insight!

@@GreenVegan816 you're very welcome. I'm clearing my own closet now and creating a capsule wardrobe as well... I'm feeling lighter.

I hate to fall short of their expectations when I put such a huge amount of effort in each time.
Boy Joshua I have the same stresses you do!!!
I see no use in social media.
That really depends on who you choose to follow on social media. I bet you enjoyed this video, didn't you?
LOL, never thought of You Tube as Social Media.
