Private or public, the key is that it is open to public. There is no expectation of privacy while in public. They are recording with their cctv, all you have to do is ask for a subject access request for copies of the footage.

Than anyone can walk in with no shirt no service because it's now against the law and it's publicly accessible. Also their cameras are for security of customers and staff not someone else to record for their gain and profit and put it up on internet. I work in retail at a shop in a busy shopping centre in London. I lost my beloved mum in April 2022 this year and I was away for two months and when I went back to work it was really hard and I still find it hard to recover from what happened. Most customers are ok and I give good Customer service. But those who are not nice I just say I refuse service and walk away and let manager deal with it. Also I know she was out of order and she shouldn't behave like that and she should be at home but that other guy was rude saying to her get over it. He should of just stayed quite for that respect and moved on himself he didn't.

Sorry I just rewatched vid again and heard that it is also partly owned by the local council which is also public property and only being managed by private company. Yes absolutely than you can film it's public property. However though the only ones that can have no filming policy in their premises are the shops as they only have a lease from shopping centre to pay paying their rent and are separate from the shopping centre itself.
She could have have handled that so differently for a peaceful outcome but, she wanted to escalate it to the point where there are mentions of self defence and violence and calling the police. This is what happens when people are bestowed with supposed authority. They think they have power over you and can control you. It's a very narcissistic trait and she shouldn't be in the role.
