38, but same here Bro. But that time with my Skateboard together. Face to Face in my ears together with Skateboarding the whole day after school. That was real FREEDOM to me ❤ And also one of my absolutly favorit Albums and still so : SATANIC SURFERS - HERO OF OUR TIME NO FUN AT ALL - OUT OF BOUNDS AND NOT TO FORGET PROPAGHANDI - LESS TALK MORE ROCK for example😉😂
Face to Face was my coming of age soundtrack, the music gave me confidence and helped me stand up as a young adult and face the world with a positive attitude. Thanks guys will always be grateful for your music
I was seeing Face to Face in Covington, Ky a few years back. I was having a little too good of a time and a guy in the crowd took offense to it and threw me to the ground. The next day I was covered in bruises, it was a hard hit. I’ll never forget what happened next, Face to Face stopped playing and called out the guy who threw me. Said it was a punk show and if he didn’t like people dancing and having a good time then he can leave. I’ve been a fan since I was 15 and I’m 43 now. Face to Face is a pretty special band in all respects.
Face to face is the band i have seen the most time live, 7 different times and it was always awesome! I had Big Choice on loop in my cars for so many years, still one of my favorite albums of all times! Keep the show going guys!
No kidding, regardless of how Face to Face feels about that album, I think its a friggin' masterpiece. In particular, I dont think a punk rhythm section has ever sounded better than what is recorded on that album.
Yo fellas! I'm the guy who snuck into Warped Tour 2005 in your bus outside The Edge in Orlando. You guys kept going around the block and missing the stage entrance on the one way roads. LOL. I had no idea the ultimate significance of that entire day until years later. I will dig out my old photos and get them to you on your website. You guys were so cool to me, I was wearing a damn tie-dye at a PUNK FEST !! WTF From chilling with Brad from Sublime, the girls in L7, Remy Stratton & Neil Hendrix, that crazy singer from Seaweed AND YOU GUYS, wow...just wow. THANK YOU FOR THE MEMORIES!!!
I remember hearing Face to Face on WSOU in the early 90's and I was hooked. I was an 80 / 90 's NYHC kid.....and still am. But this band opened up a different world for me. And now I see them with my wife and daughter, have tons of memories, lots of memorabilia in my house, and so grateful they got back together. Cant wait to get back together and watch them live. 1000X of happiness to all of us!
dude I´m from argentina I started listening face to face in 96. I was 16, I still listening you guys. I saw you when you came to buenos aires in 2018 for my first time in my life... It was magic. Thank you! Great video!
Greatness! Trever, not sure if you read these comments or not but, I've seen you guys several times down in Houston, a place called "Fitzgerald's(RIP)" usually but I talked to you for a few minutes when you guys came through right after Matt had been replaced(96-97ish) and I was bummed about it and was asking you why... I believe you kinda shrugged it off and asked me "Don't you like not hearing all that noise from Matt playing with his fingers?" and that was that... so it's nice to hear the actual story behind that situation... I then at a later date, while shit faced drunk, talked to you backstage and asked to join the band and fill in the open second guitar spot haha, I think I wrote you a note lmao(Not my best moment really) Love you guys! Your music and shows have and always will be among my favorite times and memories. Thank you for that and keep rolling it out! Please! : )
So glad you guys returned… the world needs Face to Face. I have to thank you for the few years you left though… you guys taught me a lesson that one day I won’t be able to see my favorite bands live anymore. Since then I go to shows as much as possible. As I write this were a few days removed from the best shows Face to Face has ever performed. I was lucky enough to see all three shows at the Belly Up in San Diego. I will remember those shows for the rest of my life. It was absolute magic.
I was one of the kids who thought "Ignorance Is Bliss" sucked and they became emo. Now, as a grown up man, i'll finish this documentary and give a good listen to it.
This documentary had me so psyched back in college didn’t know we had punk rock legends out of Victorville. Between this and reading Get In The Van, really pushed me to stop fucking around and get my band out on the road. We did. And it’s some of the best times and memories of my life. My face was on a billboard in Japan along with my band mates. You guys rule I’ve been trying to track this down forever. Thanks for changing my life for the better!
7/27/99. "Ignorance.." came out on my 18th birthday; my girlfriend's (at the time) parents had given me a gift card to one of the record stores in the mall, can't recall which one (FYE?). Anyway, I walked out with "Ignorance is Bliss" (and also 22 Jacks "Overserved"), fully expecting to hear another S/T (1996) during the drive home. Nope. I was very much surprised with what I was hearing. When "Burden" came on, the shock had worn off, and I just listened in amazement. I played that record almost exclusively for months after, and I still today listen to it frequently. It always made me sad for those guys with the backlash it received, even though those jaded young punks have since grown up and largely reassessed it in the 21 years since. Thanks guys, for all the music, but especially for taking the leap and making that record.
Holy. Fucking. Shit. Just finished watching. Congratulations gentlemen on having a second career beyond what you thought you would've. Love the acoustic sessions as well! I'll be pumping my fist and kicking my legs to your music 'til the day ( or day before ) i die. Thanks again for your gift of music!
Seriously, they did an acoustic piano joke with a song years ago and I so laughed at it because it sounded great! I would FREAKING love to hear a few songs done lounge style. :D Add some back singing mermaids behind them and just do it for fun.
I grew up in Hesperia and remember seeing them all the time- either in Round Table Pizza where I worked, or playing all over the High Desert. My favorite was when they played with Sublime on Halloween at the pumpkin patch on Bear Valley Road.
I never missed you guys in St. Pete Florida! Some of the greatest shows I have ever experienced! I was there when you played the Artistic album, ignorance is bliss! Putting out the energy you did in don’t turn away! Moving so many people as you did! We couldn’t understand any deviation from it man!! Nothing against your ability as artists! But we do eat our own!!
Just finished watching. What can I say that hasn't already been said? To hear "If you make it up and start to use your mind /It isn't difficult you don't know what's there if you don't try" when you're at a point in your life where you feel like you're trapped and at a dead end... It's a fucking true blue livesaver. Will forever be in debt to this band. Heavy rotation for life! Thanks, guys.
The “Who’s a real punk and who’s not” has always been a bullshit argument. Jawbreaker addressed it brilliantly in Boxcar- One, two, three, four Who's punk, what's the score?
Face to Face was always one of my favorite bands to see live. I lived in Victorville, Matt's brother Scotty was my cousins boyfriend back then. Had a lot of great memories from the shows. I still love listening to Face to Face.
Forever one of the greatest bands. Defined a sound within a genre. So many copycats came and went, and this band is still around, imploring you to sing along and take part in a non-violent mosh pit crowd while smiling and being awed with mature musicianship. F2F will never die.
My old group was on that first picture disc also. 12 pack pretty from Spartanburg South Carolina. We imploded while face to face exploded. This is fucking awesome to see and brings back memories of my youth.
7/18/96 was my 1st F2F show. Been following ever since and rarely miss a show N. of Chicago. Prolly love Bliss and Reactionary the most. Don't be strangers , come back to Green Bay soon and fuck up some more of our floors! Thanks for the music guys
Man you guys had it harder than i thought... deserved much better, and you can see it by the energy in the mosh pit. I rarely see aggressive pits like you guys bring up
Ive been in to face to face since the start! I hated ignorance is bliss at the start as well but live in mn it was amazing! That record is now one of the my favorite records by them it is so ahead of its time and the whole thing is perfect! I still have not heard an album like that. So glad they put it on vinyl!!! It gives me goosebumps still!!!
Ignorance Is Bliss was so formative to that time in my life 20yrs ago... Fresh in my 20's - unsure, vulnerable & emotionally raw - backdropped by the snowy grime of the city Syracuse,NY. I was baffled at the time at the disdain for that album. I remember feeling literally hurt that people we're missing out on what I was hearing from it. I loved head-bobbing to the established punk rock anthems as much as the next guy, but this - the antithetical Bro Hymn - was what I didn't know I was looking for. For me, it was in the same wheelhouse as SDRE's The Rising Tide, another criminally underated album. Anyway, this is a much belated Thank You for that album. Proof that it didn't go over everyone's head. I'd always hoped Face to Face would revisit that old haunt eventually.
I was 12 first time I saw face to face at hob in Orlando. I think snapcase opened for them, then a year later and it was new found glory and saves the day, then a couple years later thrice opened up. Multiple years at warped tour in Orlando!! Can’t wait to see them again at the central Florida fair grounds for bright side music festival!!
I was 18 when Ignorance is Bliss came out. Upon first listen, I was a bit taken aback after being a die-hard fan since Don't Turn Away. But after a second listen, I was hooked. I knew the band was changing and did something masterful, much like Strung Out did with The Elements of Sonic Defiance around the same time. They broke the mold they were forced into by fans, critics and loyalists. This album changed my whole perspective on "punk music" and opened my eyes and ears to so many new realms. Thank you Face to Face.
The first time I heard Face to Face was back in 1995 watching the video "Disconnected" on MTV, I remember that since then I started getting their albums and the first one I had was Don't Turn Away which, by the way, my father gave it to me and since then they became one of my favorite bands, I was lucky enough to see them live in San Diego back in 1999 and I hope to see them soon now that they reunited again!
house of blues in Hollywood, I was there because I was told it was their farewell tour, I even got a DUI that night driving over the hill and ended up beating in court. I am glad I was there and I am glad they are still doing their thing.
Love you guys... Your music got me through the darkest days and the best of days... The best album I ever had was the Face To Face : Live Album and thinking about it was the only album I have purchased more than a few different times...!
I remember seeing them play in the Inland Empire back in the early 90s. We used to go hang out in front of Spankys when we didn't have enough money to get into the show and the band happened to have a free ticket to the Adolescents show. The band was always appreciative of their fans and would hang out and chat with us at the gigs. I remember these early days of shows at Spankys cafe and Munchies with Face to Face, Voodoo Glow Skulls and Offspring in the early 90s before they all hit it big. Great documentary interesting hearing about the progression and changes in the band. Don't Turn Away still one of my favorite all time punk rock classic albums.
this is fantastic.... just one comment: i wish the guitars of todays f2f had the same tone as the "final" show. There was something about that Top Hat amp that made trevor's guitar sound so wet and amazing. Next album Trevor, secretly recorded it on a Top Hat or just slap a Marshall sticker over it at shows. Not a hater, i have sponsors too so I understand. you guys rock.
I've seen Face to Face 3 times. One time was shortly before the garbage year of 2020 and Face to Face songs on my guitar are a lifesaver. The acoustic sound is great too.
Cool doc. I had the "Big Choice" and "Face to Face" CDs, and rock them, especially the former, to this day. I saw them at Warped. But I lost track of them at some point.... glad to learn the full story, will go check out some of what I missed back then.
keep these going guys, im 40 now but got turned on to you guys when i was probably 15 or 16 and you guys were very important to me being one of my fav. bands at a time when music and life were 1, you know being a teenager, i live in PA so never had a excessive amount of oppur. to see you guys but did manage to see you at the graffiti in pittsb. PA and at the crowbar in state college PA, i remember the shows like they were yesterday, i would enjoy to here a little more of your youth, how you grew up a little bit about your town and any scene that may existed how you started guitar etc. thanks guys
my favorite band in 96.. i think i saw them play with strung out in albuquerque, we hung out with face to face for a minute behind the venue, they were really down to earth guys
There was definitely people/fans on the punk scene that wanted to hate on them, even going as far as stories of them being a metal band that turned punk to cash in. It didn't help they were breaking when everyone in the industry was looking for the next Green Day/ Offspring bands. I discovered them early and became a instant fan. Lots and lot's of good catchy songs that were straight forward fun. Good band!! Still got the tunes in rotation to this day.
November 94 I saw face to face , ten foot pole, and NOFX. aka the mons-tour . Been a fan since. DTA is one of my fav records of all time. From any band/genre.
That tour went threw Canada that year,i seen NOFX in Halifax npva scotia that same year and face to face and ten foot pole were suppose too play but didnt for some reason,Trigger Happy from Toronto got put on the bill instead
I guess I'm an asshole but I absolutely always loved Ignorance is Bliss. That album is a masterpiece. And I've been listening to them since Big Choice. For whatever its worth haha. Face to Face will always be one of my favorite bands.
I'm in the beginning, about the 5 minute mark. Trevor and Matt are talking about being Maiden fans as kids. I had this VHS punk sampler tape back in the day, and there was this FtF video that began with a skit about some Maiden fanatic getting ready for a date.... it was super funny. Don't remember what song it was, and have never been able to find the video...
Ignorance is Bliss is a great record. I was at the show at The Metro the day before it came out and yeah the crowd wasn't enthused. But you guys still put on a helluva show that night.
Been listening to Face To face since Don't Turn Away album dropped. At 42yrs old now, I still rock their music.
42 here as well. Still gets me jazzed!!
38, but same here Bro.
But that time with my Skateboard together.
Face to Face in my ears together with Skateboarding the whole day after school. That was real FREEDOM to me ❤
And also one of my absolutly favorit Albums and still so :
SATANIC SURFERS - HERO OF OUR TIME
NO FUN AT ALL - OUT OF BOUNDS
AND NOT TO FORGET
PROPAGHANDI - LESS TALK MORE ROCK for example😉😂
47 on Sunday. Same.
37, same. Never stop cycling through.
33 here let’s goooo baby!!!
Probably one of the best bands I’ve ever seen live. Found an old demo in a second hand shop a few years ago and I remains in my rotation now.
So many memories. Over 50 shows seeing them. Shared the stage a few times. Some of the best times of my life. Will always be my favorite band.
Me2
haha nice, I thought I had seen them a ton with like 25-30 under my belt...Most of the time you check my tunes at the gym and face to face is pumping!
over 51 shows i've been to
Wow talk about a bucket list deal! Did your band open for them?
Face to Face was my coming of age soundtrack, the music gave me confidence and helped me stand up as a young adult and face the world with a positive attitude. Thanks guys will always be grateful for your music
This sound has always inspired me. I think of my two best friend who have died so young when I hear disconnected.
I was seeing Face to Face in Covington, Ky a few years back.
I was having a little too good of a time and a guy in the crowd took offense to it and threw me to the ground. The next day I was covered in bruises, it was a hard hit.

Don’t Turn Away is one of the best albums of the 90s. It has withstood the test of time too- it’s killer 30 years later.
Yo fellas! I'm the guy who snuck into Warped Tour 2005 in your bus outside The Edge in Orlando. You guys kept going around the block and missing the stage entrance on the one way roads. LOL. Face to Face were great for me in my teens. I was lucky enough to see them when they came back after the hiatus.
dude I´m from argentina I started listening face to face in 96. I was 16, I still listening you guys. I saw you when you came to buenos aires in 2018 for my first time in my life... It was magic. Thank you! Great video!
My kids' rock to them, now at the same age I was when I found Face to Face. Thank you for years of amazing music, and to many more.
I was lucky enough to see all three shows at the Belly Up in San Diego. I will remember those shows for the rest of my life.

I'm a late comer. Didnt become born again punk until i was in my early 40s! Face to Face was there from the VERY beginning!
Been listening to face to face for over 30 years. Im 46 now. Still making great music too. I really enjoyed No Way But But Through ❤❤❤
Had a former band mate keep my copy of the dvd combo and have wanted to rewatch this for years. Thank you so much for finally posting this!!!
I was one of the kids who thought "Ignorance Is Bliss" sucked and they became emo. Now, as a grown up man, i'll finish this documentary and give a good listen to it.
I hear ya man I'm 50 now and I love ALL punk no sides or peer pressure bs just good music man!! 🤟
Same, I’ll give it a relisten
Greetings from Florida. What do you think now that you've had a chance to listen to it? Easily one of my favorites and I'm a Big Choice era fan
I loved ignorance is bliss from the beginning
Been listening since 1994. The start of my Punk Rawk Skater Days!! And still listening. Don't Turn Away changed me for life.
This documentary had me so psyched back in college didn’t know we had punk rock legends out of Victorville. Between this and reading Get In The Van, really pushed me to stop fucking around and get my band out on the road. We did. And it’s some of the best times and memories of my life. What band we're you in?
Thank you for uploading this! Still need my physical copy
Holy. Fucking.
Hell yeah I'm pushing 48yrs and still fucking love this band. Saw them the year they broke. Punk Fucking Rock!
I grew up in Hesperia and remember seeing them all the time- either in Round Table Pizza where I worked, or playing all over the High Desert. My favorite was when they played with Sublime on Halloween at the pumpkin patch on Bear Valley Road.
Wow what a show that must've been dude!! Fuck yeah!
I loved the doc and Ignorance is a Bliss is awesome!
Cheers from Amazon Jungle/Brazil.
Guys, I would like to thank you so much for giving me such wonderful times when I watched you in Brazil. Please, now come here to Australia asap!
Just finished watching. What can I say that hasn't already been said? The “Who’s a real punk and who’s not” has always been a bullshit argument. Jawbreaker addressed it brilliantly in Boxcar- One, two, three, four
Who's punk, what's the score?
Fucking hate that mentality. It’s just music. Punk is punk.
Face to Face was always one of my favorite bands to see live. I lived in Victorville, Matt's brother Scotty was my cousins boyfriend back then. Had a lot of great memories from the shows. I still love listening to Face to Face.

Thanks for posting! Love Face to Face. Definitely my all time favorite Band.
Awesome band! One of the all time greats in their genre. Thanks for the doc.

Many thanks and blessings to these dudes.
Ingnorance is bliss is no doubt a special record that deserves another listen.
I love Face to Face 🤘 this was great!!!
Man you guys had it harder than i thought... deserved much better, and you can see it by the energy in the mosh pit. I rarely see aggressive pits like you guys bring up

In a day and age where punk bands try to adapt or find their sound its so good to hear F2F stay the course..classic skate punk..cheers
right on!
thank you guys!
Waiting for a new album after the pandemic madness. Thank you for all the great songs!
Another Masterpiece!
Great documentary! Thanks for the awesome music.
TH-cam algorithm lead the way .....never recognized this band. What's the name of this first live played song? It's awesome!!!
Dunno mate, but the main riff reminds me of Alternative Ulster by SLF.
I was 18 when Ignorance is Bliss came out. Upon first listen, I was a bit taken aback after being a die-hard fan since Don't Turn Away. But after a second listen, I was hooked. If you like Ignorance…you better listen to Bob Mould and Husker Du.

Trever driving at the end🤣🤣🤣 got to love the people in Hesperia/Victorville 🤣💀
SO glad they reconsidered and regrouped!!!! Better than EVER!!!
It's nice to watch this now and know it wasn't the end.
thanks guys for posting this doc, definitely worth the time spent watchin it, keep it up F2F😎👍
house of blues in Hollywood, I was there because I was told it was their farewell tour, I even got a DUI that night driving over the hill and ended up beating in court. I am glad I was there and I am glad they are still doing their thing.
😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣🥳
That was fantastic. Thanks for posting!
Thank you.
Holy carp! I’m in the crowd of the opening!!!
I had this double dvd for years and lost it. One of my favorite bands.
Love you guys... Your music got me through the darkest days and the best of days... The best album I ever had was the Face To Face : Live Album and thinking about it was the only album I have purchased more than a few different times...!
I've seen face to face probably 40 times and every time, it's amazing.
I remember seeing them play in the Inland Empire back in the early 90s. Great documentary interesting hearing about the progression and changes in the band. Don't Turn Away still one of my favorite all time punk rock classic albums.
I bought that dvd as soon as it came out in 2006 ... I didn't have to wait that long to see it full..
Great documentary from one of my favorite punk bands.
this is fantastic.... just one comment: i wish the guitars of todays f2f had the same tone as the "final" show. Just finished watching the whole thing! Great documentary, so much stuff i did not know about the band!
Ignorance is bliss is without a doubt one of FtF's best, by far. I am so sorry you guys had to go through that shit
That was really really good!!!! Thanks.
I've seen Face to Face 3 times. One time was shortly before the garbage year of 2020 and Face to Face songs on my guitar are a lifesaver. The acoustic sound is great too.
I bought this on DVD back when it came out. Still have it a watch it every few years. Here I am watching on my phone now. Any chance of a sequel?
26 years after that first Boston show, still listening, and now my kids love F2F too. When I die, I want them to play Disconnected at my funeral.
Thanks for this !
Yes! I'm really looking forward to watching this!
"You don't get punk rock like we do."
Cut to Rob Kurth in a suit.
I used to walk through Airports blasting Ignorance is Bliss and weaving through crowds of people. I was always nice but in my mind I was on a mission!
PA and at the crowbar in state college PA, i remember the shows like they were yesterday, i would enjoy to here a little more of your youth, how you grew up a little bit about your town and any scene that may existed how you started guitar etc. thanks guys
So glad they are still making music, don’t stop
Now we just need the addendum documentary for the band after the retirement.
You mean post mortem. Haha I saw them last year.
I saw face to face at canes in ocean beach in San Diego in 1998. Thankful these guys got together and made music.
No pueden imaginar el privilegio que tuve de abrirles en Costa Rica en 2015, con nuestra banda Solocarne. Uno de los días que jamás olvidaré.
Great doc! Watch it!
So glad I got to see this band a couple years ago with descendents and jawbreaker. Great night and F2F was arguably the best band that night
Shout out from the Ville!
Big Choice is a masterpiece
my favorite band in 96.. i think i saw them play with strung out in albuquerque, we hung out with face to face for a minute behind the venue, they were really down to earth guys
FROM PERU🇵🇪AGUANTE face to face Lima Punk ROckerzz🏄♂️🤘
There was definitely people/fans on the punk scene that wanted to hate on them, even going as far as stories of them being a metal band that turned punk to cash in. It didn't help they were breaking when everyone in the industry was looking for the next Green Day/ Offspring bands. I discovered them early and became a instant fan. Lots and lot's of good catchy songs that were straight forward fun. Good band!! Still got the tunes in rotation to this day.
That's so weird to hear, where I grew up EVERYONE loved and respected them from the start with Don't Turn Away, even the "more punk than thou" types 😂
So good.
Thanks
Check out Don't Turn Away...you'll love it dude.
@@beefchief626Don't Turn Away is a classic man
Great band!!! And yeah I’m going to see them in April.🙌🤙🍻
First saw these guys live in the back of a Builders Square store in Pensacola Florida in the mid-90’s.... The Nite 🦉
Don't remember what song it was, and have never been able to find the video...
gracias por ignorance , ese dico me cambio la vida. gracias face to face por todo, disculpen lo poco.
Ignorance is Bliss top three album overall rock bands I love. It changed my life.
Ignorance is Bliss is a great record. I was at the show at The Metro the day before it came out and yeah the crowd wasn't enthused. But you guys still put on a helluva show that night.
I don't listen to much of 90 punk. but I still like face to face.. I like 70 80s punk
