I actually have the Bower 10 in battery chain saw. Now I'm looking for a more powerful saw , I first taught to buy the dewalt battery chainsaw 18 in, which sells for $350 now I think to buy the Bauer corded, I'm not sure which one Has more torque and rpm,
I buy slab wood (cut offs from saw mills) in 8 - 10" lengths. I use my Bauer to cut it down to 16" lengths for my wood stove. It works great. Just plug it in and start cutting. It cuts just as good as my gas model.
picked one up recently. excellent power. sized logs for splitting. just don't overwork the motor and it should last for years. oregon replacement chains available too!
This was my 2nd purchase into converting my outdoor power tools to 120v house current. I have a generator and a side-by-side for field work. I'm tired of the constant maintenance required from a separate engine for everything. The torque of electric is much better, safer, and quieter, even with the generator. The cord can sometimes be a hassle, but it's worth it. The only things not 120v are my mower (Ventrac, because of acreage) and trimmer (Greenworks 80v cordless).
I love mine. It's a fabulous idea for shop work...and dare I say Alaskan chainsaw milling. Its well built and no small engine issues. REPLACEMENT CHAIN...please help me find one
Buy good oil, buy a good chain as a backup when you need an extra so you aren’t killing the dull chain, don’t bear down on it, let the chain do the work and apply even pressure
Good video. I have a Harbor Freight Bauer 16" electric (plug in) chainsaw that needs a new plastic gear. All teeth teeth are worn down. My trouble is I can't find a replacement gear anywhere. The gear I need is about 4 1/4" dia, but the spindle in the center is a bit different than the one I see on line...one side has a 1" bearing that is attached to a geared shaft. I was trying to find out who manufactures the saw so I could contact them directly as HF was no help. Would you have any information on where I can get this gear? Thanks.
Jeff, Thanks for watching! I do not have any more information than you do. Question... How much cutting have you gotten done with the saw before it failed? I did see that Amazon had many available. I would look for the one that looks closest and try. If it isn't right send it back. Sorry I can't be of more help than that.
@@BrailsfordWoodworks Thank you for your response. I’ve had the saw just over two years. I don’t use it often, but when I do it might be for a hour or more. The total time on the saw might be around 6-8 hours.
Thanks. 8 have several Bauer battery tools. Discount today, going to pick up the corded saw. For my firewood cutting area, close to a power supply, to be able to do some quick cutting without picking up the smell of 2 stroke, its a good addition. The 10 inch battery unit hs worked well for limbs and 6 inch and smaller.
I am! It is still working just fine! I use it mainly when I am trimming up bowl blanks. It isn't big enough to cut some of the wood I have. For the price, when this one wears out I will get another. Thanks for watching!
@@BrailsfordWoodworks Thanks for the quick reply. I need a good saw for small trees and limbs no bigger than 8" in diameter and I don't want a gas powered one because I won't use it that much and it'll just sit up. That one will be perfect for me.
Thank you It's good to see a video on the HB saw that is NOT just showing us how to take it out of the box. I'm sure there are a couple people out there who need to be shown how to open a box, but they probably don't know how to turn on a TV or computer either, so they don't even watch How-To videos. Have you had any trouble with the oil delivery system like I've seen on the Oregon saw? Plugging up all the time. Good video. For the money, probably hard to beat this deal.
Great review. At $69 I may have to invest in one after I sell a couple more pieces. Not sure but you may have been breaking one of your most important rules for running a chain saw. That chain runs pretty close to the same speed as your gas Stihl saw. It will go through your leg just about as quickly. Please be careful. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this saw.
Yep, but it does have a great brake on the chain to make it safer. I got a 18” electric chainsaw from Menards 3 years ago and was able to cut down and process 5 large black ash trees and it is still going strong, just keep sharpening the chain.
Just got one. I love harbor freight. Great review, thanks.
Me too! Thanks for watching!
Have one .
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for sharing
I'm just in the lookout for a new chainsaw
Well if money is an object and you are OK with the cord, then I highly recommend this saw. Thanks for watching!

Yea, it has been very good for me. It also keeps me on good terms with my neighbors. Thanks for watching!
4 minutes and 20 seconds into the video and I'm leaving the house NOW to go buy one. Thanks!
I am glad I could help! Thanks for watching!

Thanks for the review, going to Harbor freight tomorrow to pick one up

Amazon! Thanks for watching!
Thank you! great video and information!
Thank you Ralph! The saw has been working fine for me.
I love corded equipment, yes the cord takes work, but for a weekend warrior with only 1acre, no gas, no battery, unlimited power makes it worth it.
I couldn't agree more, especially when I am around the shop. It is vastly superior to batteries. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the video, I just got a second hand one, and I’m new to chainsaw at all. Any tips you would share?
I would say keep your chain sharp. Make sure you keep the tip out of the dirt. Thanks for watching!
@@BrailsfordWoodworks Thanks. Do you know where I can find a replacement for the chain? I would like to put a new one.
@@mianzel I would take it to where ever chainsaws are sold and serviced. They will be able to match it up, or make one.

Oh and if you’re cutting a lot flip your bar ever so often to give your bar even wear

good call! The corded saw has some beef to it. It has cut through some tough stuff for me, including Pecan. Thanks for watching!
The handle and chain guard were too small for me on the Bauer.
I hope you found one you like. Thanks for watching.
Are you still using the saw? How did it hold up? I'm waiting for the local store to restock them.
