Ingredients:
6 Lb Boneless Pork Shoulder/Pork Butt
2 Tsp fennel seeds
3 Tsp Kosher salt (Recommended)
1 ½ Tsp black pepper or more
2 Tbsp Olive oil
1 Large Onion
6 Garlic Cloves
2 Large Carrots
2 Cups Stock/Broth (Veggie or Beef)/Dry White Wine
HOW TO MAKE TASTY HOMEMADE GRAVY
Ingredients:
Roast Vegetables from the Roast Pork (Onion, Garlic and Carrot)
½ Tbsp Beef Better Than Bouillion/Beef Paste
1 Packet Brown Gravy Mix
¼ Tsp Black Pepper (To Taste)

Looking so good. I will try making this soon. There is one thing I would change, though, is to cut off the meat portion at the bottom of the part that is higher in order to make the piece of meat even instead of putting aluminum foil underneath. The aluminum will disolve into the juice and it's something you wouldn't want in your food. Love your quick and to the point instructions.

I made this today and the cooking time and heat time didn't work for me, was still very tough, so I covered it all after it got crisp on top and it came out great. I cooked for an additional 2 hours. Mine was about as big as the one you had as well.
Cooking time can be varies depending on the type of the oven. I am glad it worked out for you! 💕
On my old oven I had to add 35-40 degrees every time for it to match up to other ovens
Gravy looks mega
Try grinding the veggies in the juices with a immersion blender until thick, taste and reseason if needed.

Do you roasted it for only 1.25 hours at 325? Wouldn’t it go for at least two and a half hours with a roast that big right? So hope you reply i really want to try this recipe.

At 1:27m u foil them in the oven but when u take it out. I didn’t see the foil but it started crackling. Do u cut any step of making skin crispy?

we need to know more details about how much time takes to cook like this .
Use a thermometer it is more accurate that relaying on time. Pork usually is cooked at 160F internal temp. but it depends on taste

Gravy that is this good must have riced/mashed/mixed potatoes ... I bought a ricer so I rice, works great, maybe mix in some roasted garlic, but do not use raw, it is poisons to some people in the hospital. (me)

This is pretty similar to Gordon Ramsay’s pork shoulder video, just with less emphasis on the meat and more on the gravy
All was well until the packaged, powdered gravy substitute? was used.

Won't wrapping it in foil make the skin soft ? It will steam inside the foil won't it
Only the meat part is wrapped in foil..the skin is exposed

Well I am done and I did not the crackling crust. Not sure why but the pork was juicy and succulent so it was not a total lost
I’m sorry to hear about the crackling, it’s tricky, and it needs to pat really dry the skin before cooking it. Normally it works well for me.
Can you substitute the shoulder with pork butt?

the balls of aluminum was goofy, just lift it out of the cooking dish & put in a roasting rack, or a baking rack across the top of the dish to lift it up, or just use another roasting pan with a rack, you might want to mattering on your veggies level of doneness.
You’d be surprised at how many high end restaurants use those packets of gravy to doctor up some of their meals. There’s no shame in that, being that they’re made up of basic ingredients. Now the real tragedy is when you go and pour ketchup on it!

After you wrap the meat in aluminium foil, do you put it back in the oven with or without the pot ? I find it strange how in the next scene it comes out inside the pot without the aluminium foil ? 😕

@@ErwinaAndTheBoys i don't know what being from england had to do with anything. here's the right way. take those delicious dripping you strained and stick them in the fridge (or freezer if you're in a hurry). the grease will rise to the top and solidify. the scoop the grease out and you're left with a great tasting "gravy". try it. you'll thank me.
I thought you said that we ruined the roast meat by adding the gravy. Thank you for your advice, but everyone has different preferences on how they cook or make gravy. This is how we like it. Try mine and you’ll thank me too! 😀

@@Mr._Chievous… and if you like a thicker gravy, take that same solidified oil and make a roux and use the pork juice to make gravy.
