I felt it so hard when y’all talked about how housing is right now! I’m 23 and just graduated college, and I can barely afford my rent for my apartment at the moment. I couldn’t even imagine being a homeowner for the next decade.

I love your podcast! I think it might be neat to have more of an interview setting for the video purposes and that way the viewer/watcher can be more of a fly on the wall. But also having a balance of talking directly into the camera to the viewer is important.
Jess Conte is a content creator who I look up to a lot and she's made the decision to keep her child private. It's not to say pictures aren't shared, but they aren't the focal point of the content/faces are hidden.
I think this can also be compared to relationships as well by keeping them private not secret.
So personally, when I have children I'll definitely take pictures/record their life, but I'll be careful as to who I'm sharing that with. You never know a person's intention and that child (despite having you as a protector) is so vulnerable to attack when all they are doing is existing.
Regardless it's great you're seeking guidance :)

Have to catch up on the last few podcasts before your announcement. I’ll be 31 in a week almost.
The problem with oversharing your kids is sometimes safety, secondly they don't have that much consent or as knowledgeable consent as an adult would, and it's not very regulated so it can become the parent making them a performer 24.7. I think in the future there will be laws to protect people from using their kids in a detrimental way.

My only complaint is calling each other pet names incessantly…nothing against you guys, just has always icked me out when people don’t save that for just each other. 🤣 I also appreciate what you said about keeping the relationship struggles to yourself. There’s on couple in particular where every episode of their podcast feels like it should be a conversation had in a therapists office, or just together. But it also feels like they’re doing it for engagement which is super sad.

Personally I love showing my kids on my socials but I’m also not famous it’s more for my friends and family and who follows me. But I completely understand why influencers aren’t showing their kids anymore since the media world is so crazy now and with AI stuff it’s just crazy! But I know where to draw the line and won’t do anything to expose my kids privacy too much and I know lots of influencers who do it so well and know how to have a balance with showing their kids!
My uncle and aunt live in OK and the tornados are crazy and the winters are too cold. 🥶 I’ll stick with Texas.

I love this pod so much!! Just some constructive criticism--I feel like kaleb sometimes rambles a bit (such as in the first 8 or so minutes of the episode). I hope this comes as a helpful comment and not mean!! P.S. I am a content creator too and I know how hard it all is.

In my opinion I feel like maybe a balance is fine. Kristin Johns/ Jess and Gabe Conte/ Matt and Abby do a pretty good job.
My opinion on kids and social media: Keep them off as much and for as long as possible. It mind blowing how many parents use their kids for content for clicks and $$$. Some of it easily gets into cringe territory and it’s just 😬.
Don’t show your kids !!!! If you get upset by comments as a grown adult imagine what the comments will do to your innocent children. Also, please consider homeschool!!!! I work in the public schools and it’s a scary place for kids to be in todays world ❤

Ok not gonna lie, as a Texan, Kaleb’s comments and some of Jeanine’s comments about Texas were making me like 😳😲😵💫🥴🫠😐😠, all those emotions lol.. I was really shocked by Jeanine’s since she’s from here.
Texas football is literally better here than any other state in the country, from little league to high school to college, NFL even though I am a cowboys fan, so it’s sad to say, is lacking as far as wins, but they are called America’s team, everyone watches them even if they aren’t a fan, hating and loving them. Texas is 1000% known for its good football and the athletes it produces. So yea really shocked by those football comments haha, I’ll let Kaleb off since he’s not a Texan, but Jeanine, nooooo LOL
Even out here where I live, multiple football movies have been filmed and made here, with another one currently in the works. As far as Dallas goes the housing is expensive, but so is it everywhere in the country, the interest rates are what’s killing people! And you also don’t have to live IN Dallas, you can move to the surrounding cities and get better prices while still being in the vicinity to enjoy the Dallas life. And my goodness lastly she said Dallas isn’t a place to enjoy nature 🧐.. try living in west Texas and you’d change that comment REAL quick!
This state is a state to build families and community and you can find that almost as soon as you move here if you’re not from here if you look for it. And we do stick together, the TRUE Texans do at least.
